2007 Arnel would have flipped if someone told him that the real Toto band would be the opening act for a band that he's the kead singer for. But that's what we have now with Toto touring with Journey. Proud of you Arnel!

Arnel is definitely the most versatile rock singer of this age .He can emulate so many rock singers,juorney,survivor,toto,Bryan Adams, to name a few. .I know alot of jealous people write him off calling him karaoke singer. But you got to admit the man has talent! I know if anyone especially his critics could sing like him they would be happy too. So Arnel you keep rockin!
Apparently Journey didnt think he was just a karaoke singer.
but that's not what you want in a singer if you are a band that's trying to be ORIGINAL. What Arnel does is what you want for a COVER band that performs a variety of OTHER people's music.

@@mariechu4955 To a certain extent, however, they are both singers with careers NOT singing with Journey and not having to resort to singing covers. Here's the difference. When they aren't singing with Journey, they don't have their own cover band that plays cover gigs on the side. Both have original bands before and after Journey, not with as much success, but definitely NOT cover bands..
Steve Augerie actually studied how to sing rather than learning by copying someone else's voice. Obviously, he had to sing like Steve Perry since that's what the gig was. Steve was classically trained musician during High School as he attended New York City High School for Music and Art. You had to have your act together to make it and graduate from that school. They not only had their regular studies, but they had to pile on upper level music courses as if they were in college. It's not a school for dumbasses. And yes, he's had his own bands that had their own originals, just not quite as big as Journey. But he wasn't singing in a cover band when he got the call to join Journey and he didn't join a cover band afterwards.
He's also done a lot more recording of original songs than Arnel.
JSS has a solid career NOT singing cover band music. He's sang with many bands before and since Journey and he has an actual career not having to sing with Journey…. Arnel NEEDS Journey to be successful.

Augerie with the band you did not comment that they were cover band at that time and SA was not also singing his own song but it was also the songs of SP that he was singing you will not just accept the truth that maybe if A. Pineda is an american maybe there's no bad comments from you.
