As someone who has watched the original multiple times I’m still all for the new one because they aren’t trying to take away our magic for the original they’re just trying to introduce newer generation a different version of mean girls besides nobody cared when they made a “mean girls 2” so I honestly don’t see the problem because we all know it won’t be as good as the og so who gives af
They are simply safeguarding the original film because it was created at a time when social media was still in its infancy, unlike today.

I love mean girls two And what I liked about that movie is they introduced new characters so it was kind of like a new generation even though it was the same story so This will be interesting

I subconsciously asked for this movie when the Musical came out and couldn't see it when it toured. I trust the comedy juggernaut that is Ms. Fey so I'll at least give it a chance before I start giving adult Star Wars "fan" gnashing against the threat of irrelevance.
Seeing the original, I'm excited for the reimagining. People don't know that the original writer, Tina Fey, did all three, including the play (which I have yet to see, sorry).

Yes, they did. it was turned into a musical in 2018. You forgot to type the word “great” between ‘ fucking’ and ‘ musical.’ That’s OK, Perhaps the teachers assistant who was typing for you missed that part. School budgets are so tough and it’s really hard to give every special-needs kid the attention they deserve. I’m sure your small class is going to have lots of great days and you’ll be able to learn lots of things about what’s happened between 2018 and now.

You say the movie isn’t wanted, yet there are lots of people out there who enjoyed the 2018 musical and are actually looking forward to seeing the movie.

@@stanbaloIt was on Broadway until March of 2020, and was shut due to Covid (like all productions in NYC were). However, the original tour production ran until late 2022 AND there is another tour currently going around the USA. Mean Girls is also opening in the West End next year & has recently released the rights for Jr productions of the show to be put on.
So, it's still EXTREMELY well loved and is clearly doing very well for itself. This movie is for us theatre kids, not the general public who hates on us theatre kids. If you don't like it, don't watch it, but the show is incredibly successful and I recommend doing your research on it before making comments.
The new version is okay, just that more politically correctness with minority actors and LGBTQ

jaquel literally said it wasn't a remake. The musical and the 2004 movie are not the exact same thing. Mean Girls 2024 is the Broadway musical adaptation.
These actors know they are in big trouble hence their defensive answers like please watch our movie and give it a chance. As much as it is a big opportunity, it is also not a great career move to accept those roles bec those roles are really not open for another actor. Cady is Lindsay, Regina is Rachel etc etc. It is ok for broadway but for a movie it is a big no. It would only work if they make it into another thing like maybe same storyline but totally different setting like in an office etc.

Its not a remake.. its a movie version of the musical which is an updated version of the original movie its still new tho
the fun part (like really fun and exciting part) is that you (yes you and whoever else) don’t have to watch it if you don’t want to! how exciting is that! it’s like there’s freewill and they aren’t getting rid of the original!
