Ep. 21 My BMW E30 Restoration - Sound Deadening Installation

Now it was quite the shame to cover up the recent respray however sound deadening is a must for me. I decided to cover the whole floor compared the factory as I want to dampen as much of the drivetrain/road noise as possible, the difference in weight is only around 10kg more.
I won't be using the factory engine bay insulation as I don't have the clearance around the engine, so I installed the sheets all over the bulkhead and dash area.
This was a labour intensive task and it did catch me out with how long it took, this was about 12 hours of work!

Looks good. Will you be adding anything on top of this or to other parts of the car like doors ? Also will you be using any cavity wax (think that's what's it called in english) on this car ?

Thanks! Yes will be doing the doors and more in the boot pockets too. I will be cavity waxing the car once i have it at my friends car ramp

How many packs of insulation you bought? 1 or more?
1 pack has 34 sheets? Correct?
I have E36 Compact, no idea how many square meters it is.

2 packs dude, comes to 6.8sqm. Used about 1 1/2 packs so far but still have a bit to do including the doors etc
