- I have a look on Autotrader to see how the Range Rover market it looking. The search is on for my next car! Please comment below what you think and let me know if you'd like to see me search for an L405 or P38 too as these models could also be in the running...

You need a 4.2 Supercharged. They're quite a reliable engine.
Sell Lucy your 4.4v8 l322! Or one of them at least 😂
I agree with Matty, L322 SC
Why is everyone on about the 4.2?!! 😂 surely the 5 is the sweet spot?? Why wouldn’t you own the best? Forget the 4.4…. Turbos, DPF both bad in higher mileage…. If the turbos had been replaced on the 4.4 I would maybe consider one…. But come on!! The 5 SC. Only choice! Overfinch or black edition are nice.
Yep, Jag engine 😊
@@jasonlewry3307I’m inclined to agree, go for the best. The main difference is the price. Big difference between a 4.2 and a 5.0
4.2 supercharged is what you need or the 4.4 petrol jaguar unit! Early Range Rover l322s are lovely but I think the sweet spot is 06 to early 09! The later face lifted version is abit to flashy for me! A nice green petrol v8!
I got a 4.4 petrol v8 2002 BMW 3 years ago and all its had is new brakes, sill and arches. Floats like a dream an sound fantastic. I know they can have their issues but for 3k+ they are a dream (I have spent over a grand on body work but we'll worth it in my eyes) fuel economy is hideous too but it doesn't do many miles a year so it's well worth it.
Hi,I'm in the trade and rr are hard to fine a gd one thats been looked after as they need a lot of tlc as u know, I only detail top end cars but have a lot of knowledge having worked with them.
I’ve been looking at P400 E L405s recently and while they’re pricey on the sticker price I’m sure they’d make a good car to put through the business.
Left field option - L322 with a decent LPG conversion. I’d be intrigued to see how that worked out
If you get a petrol, you want a Jag 4.2 Supercharged V8 or a Jag 4.4 V8 (rare). The early ones had a BMW 4.4 V8 that has a fair few known issues and they're very old now. The 3.0 diesel will seem REALLY slow after your 3.6 and equally thirsty. Anything that has mods, walk away. I actually think a late 4.4 diesel would be best. Quicker and less thirsty than the 3.6.
If you buy any petrol engine they will be REALLY thirsty.
Check them all for rust, on the body and underneath.
I know nothing about RR so I’m enjoying your content Lucy 😅
Thanks! I am still learning too haha
The 2013 LR4s And Sports with the 5.0L Are pretty awesome and the very best year as for the last year of Squarebodys.. I Got the L322 because it was in the best condition over all, after shopping 4 months none stop..
Would love a Defender myself or a RR L322. Might have a look at the app.
Looking forward to the future videos on what ever you end up buying.
That's a great search app. Much more to choose from than on the mainland
Hi, love your channel! Keep up the good content on RRs. You either love them or hate them. You mentioned an Asia trip. Is this in another channel of yours?
Depending on mileage, go for a petrol with a Jag engine. The 4.4 tdv8 has a DPF remember and will kick you for short journeys
Keep your good work up
If you’re budget allows go for the 4.4 diesel 2007 - 2012 or 5.0L petrol. I appreciate you have other cars though. Try and get something with service history/warranty/few owners, if they exist! I have a green TD6 so I can testify to the ‘attraction’ and I live in the Countryside! Good luck in your search.
l405 v6td or v6 supercharged, can we have a live recomending some cars, love the content!
Thank you! Will think about doing some live content :)
you should look for a 4.2 sc v8 range rover they nice and quick
If you are getting a defender mark the hell out of it and get good security for it. They are quite high value vehicles for thefts.
RR insurance quotes are crazy at mo, deep pockets needed.
Hmmm. I bought a RR sport for the wife a few years ago- 4.2 supercharged. Very nice, but she wanted a heated steering wheel so I got her a Discovery 3.0 v6 d. Not my cup of tea but it’s ok. Get yourself a BMW X5 with a big V8…
Got a green 4.4 petrol V8 for sale with light interior, but lacquer peel on bonnet is severe! £2.5k
Recently bought a 4.4 TDV8 so that’s the only reasons the petrol is going
"Mint humbug interior" is a great description 🤣
How much did the auction make ? I’m intrigued
hi love your videos😀😀😀
Thank you :)
You should give us your thoughts on the Disco 3 and 4
Yea
The thing you were saying about 2000 Range Rovers from every years was a CUMULATIVE count.
There were not many prior to 2008 (maybe 10 or 20 from each year), so cumulatively we had just over 2000 going back to 2008, and 80 more than that going back to 2003.
The prices have dropped on the 3.6's but low mileage 4.4 TDV8's and 5.0 super charged are very high at the moment 👍
Good to know, thanks!
I'd like to see you buy a chavved up one and return it to a lovely factory spec lol.
Go for an L405. 👍👍👍👍
Spotted a black L322 'one lady owner' on Autotrader yesterday. Immaculate interior.
Oooh sounds good
@@LucyOnCars still for sale at Autohaus, Walsall
Have you ever driven a defender?
Agricultural doesn’t even begin to cover it!
Haha yes I have! Agricultural x1000
My £3k 3.8 V8 Vogue is still going strong, love it
No such thing as a 3.8 V8.
If you got the money get a L405 lets see how good or bad they are lucy😊
I'd try to stay away from the BMW era l322 03-05 > you'd try for 2006 and above l322
Pre 2006 is cheap tax and you can get alot cleaner of a car for your money something to think about
I’m told that the 4.2 SC is so thirsty that even rich people question whether it’s a good choice!
A 4.2 SC would be more interesting for the channel though.
I think the 4.4 TDV8 is the best all round compromise and I seem to be in the majority with that opinion going by the forum chats.
The 4.4 TDV8 has a completely different turbo arrangement to the 3.6 and is allegedly less prone to failure.
Depends how you drive them, my4.2 does 14mpg round towns and 25 on a motorway, if driven gentle and on the level on motorway can do 28mpg. Not bad figures for something with big engine and heavy car.
maybe a range rover sport
I’m a bit confused or have I missed something , i thought you were travelling for a while ?
Would steer well clear of any of the V6's. Snappy cranks and spun bearings are not uncommon. Especially if the oil pump mod hasn't been done. Whereas, all the V8's are fairly reliable.
The P38 is a suprisingly good car, even today. And they are extremely capable off road, with just some meaty tyres. Keeping up with defenders in total comfort while the defender folks are shaking their fillings out.
Before yall turn the flames on me I love defenders, but they are not a daily driver for the average person!
The L322 never came with a V6.
@@chrisglover2133 Might want to do a little research there
I would like to see you in Classic, if you're going to be a RanOver fan you must see were it all began.
Ps. If you get the chance and are lucky enough to find one go for the velour upholstery poops all over leather IMHO.
Yes it would be good to try the original!
Buy 2012 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 diesel, them are final edition Real Range Rover ;o)
push the boat out for a L405 4.4 SDV8, its worth it
Looked at p38s for years, they my fave shape but all pretty much rotten now.
Get a disco all you need in a 4/4
I would avoid any vehicle with 3 or more owners.
Get something alot newer Lucy 😮❤
Td6 chews gearboxes. Avoid.
I'm hearing nasty reports about 6 cylinder diesels with 'chocolate' crankshafts!
Not in the L322.
are they not all cheap because of the stupidly ULEZ charge coming everywhere soon..
perhaps a 4.4 diesel, more reliable than your last RR
No black interior please, go for a light colour.
I would like light this time!
That BMW review video was a horrific idea. But if you do a bikini try-on video, i bet you'd get a lot of new subscribers 😉
🙄
Just buy a decent CR-v as new as you can afford.
XC90 Lucy, at least you can insure it and it will start in the morning.
As for cars, get a Kia Sportage as new as you can afford. Hopefully your money will stretch to something less than 7 years old, and still in the manufacture’s warranty.
Nobody ever seems to moan about an unreliable Kia :)
😂
buy a Landcruiser, But then you would have no content for you channel as they dont go wrong
Every car goes wrong at some point.
@@user-hb4hj3eg4j yes!! At some time, not all the time lol
@@user-hb4hj3eg4j don’t get me wrong, I would have another RR in a heartbeat if they were reliable
Haha i need content!
why would you buy an old Range Rover , why not a 2015 model at least ??
Please get a porsche cayenne the diesel variant 2013-2015 models
Don't get a P38 😆
You need electric car okay girl
You must be mental. One of the most unreliable car makes in the UK
I am mental :)
