You know what the best part about this show was? It didn't get torn apart, or milked to death, or scam everyone, or was cancelled for a stupid reason with no conclusion. It just...ended peacefully with a good send off. You can't say that about 99% of media these days.
...yeah the writing didn't age well. But hey, honestly, the fact that nothing went horribly wrong for this series is impressive. Almost refreshing.

It's weird to see retrospectives like this, especially about these kinds of media, NOT involve some kind of turbulent dumpster fire controversy.
@FrostBug That kind of shit happened all throughout the years. What I mean in particular is that nothing that would 'need' a focus like that happened. It was just smooth sailing the entire way through, no creepazoids in the staff, no financial or directorial nightmares, and they quietly put the show to bed, no strings attached.

It's a fantastic adolescent nostalgia trip.
This show was amazing when I was young.
Short version : It ended, and the creators are just out there doing their own stuff
Blue and Red went through so much self-sabotage and weird shit. I never got around to finishing the series or watching the movie, but it's very comforting to know that they ended up happy and stable.

A very sudden one though. My interest had been dwindling and "happy birthdump" was the first episode of the last season and a half to get a laugh out of me and I remember thinking "Ah, this show's getting good again, can't wait til the next ep." But the next ep didn't come. It never came.

Ah, Dick Figures, an internet show from a time before CZcams sold it's soul to big corporations and declared war on independent creators. I never really watched the show when it was out, but looking at it now... yeah, it hasn't really aged well. Kind of a shame web animation is mostly extinct now. I always felt like after Eddsworld creator Edd Gould died, he took web animation with him to the grave, since his death was timed with the time CZcams's algorithm changed to be more biased towards animation.
Arguably, youtube sold its soul on November 13th, 2006 when Google acquired it. It's just been a steady decline in "freedom" as youtube struggles to make profit. Look up Tom Scott's video titled "CZcams's Copyright System Isn't Broken. The World's Is.
" for a wider look on things.

@@sambradley9091 It was a show released in the action cartoon era of the 00's, around the time when the "this show, but FUTURE!" concept was at it's peak. though not necessarily the WORST show to ever hit the airwaves, and not even the worst show under WB's looney toons IP, it definitely did not garner much love as the years went on for it's use of said IP. at the end of the day it was a generic action show with generic furry characters in a generic setting, with a monster of the week set-up and cliche's being the only depth the writing ever achieved. their was never enough character depth or well constructed stories, nor was their enough humor or comedy to really entertain, leaving both action fans disappointed and looney toons fans disappointed.

Seeing all these people talking about watching Dick Figures in middle school makes me feel old. I had a friend my sophomore year of college that was OBSESSED with Dick Figures, though.
This feels like a show I should have known about and watched while it was coming out, but I some how managed to avoid literally anything about it until this point and now don't have the same mindset to enjoy going back and watching it.

Dick figures was the embodiment of 2012 internet and I mean that in a great way. I remember watching this and immediately getting hooked on it and showing it to my friends and they liked it. Iâm glad it ended when it though and it had a pretty wholesome ending rather than still airing episodes to this day and trying to reimagine itself for the CZcams algorithm and having to hold back itâs humor.

I actually really liked Baman and Piderman. It's goofy at the beginning, but it eventually gets a story arch which partially deals with Pumkin's anxiety. It's a shame it's so overlooked because the first episode is about a sandwich.
