Flaming Pie is the album Paul should have been making all along. His best work since the debut McCartney, and the closest thing to a Beatles album since 1970.
Bloody heck, this is better than the " Let it be" movie! Its amazing how Paul can pick up on every note with the orchestra as if he can actually " see" the complete song exactly how the finished song should sound. Like looking at a complete masterpiece painting with only the 1st stroke of a brush.Geez, miss Linda..😥
Wow - what a joy to see this film - especiallly the overwhelming ending with Beautiful Night!! Flaming Pie together with London Town has always been my favourite Album of Paul, and now after whatching this I adore it even more! Somedays and Beautiful Night (plus Wanderlust from Tug of War) are among the best songs he ever did!
If you know the Paul and Linda history….you will truly embrace every aspect of this film/video. I’ve just watched after all this time…and I’m in tears of happiness, joy and loss. They were part of my life. Still are. I’m 60 now. You have to recognise all the little, subtle trinkets to fully get what the Paul and Linda story was all about. Not just the music………
I LOVE Paul so much, always have. Flaming Pie is such a great album and I can still tear up when Ringo comes in on Beautiful Night (that was brilliant to have him sing and drum there). Flaming Pie is so good, every song brilliant. I presently have it above Tug Of War, London Town and Back To The Egg, but equal to McCartney, Red Rose Speedway, Wings At Speed Of Sound and equal or just behind RAM & Band On The Run.
Sujeevani Pieris yes, every single song is sweet or rocking. Flaming Pie was up for Grammy that year but lost to Dylan's Time Out Of Mind. I like it too, but not as much as FP. Paul should have won it. But, Dylan has said publically since then, and it made news, that he believes Paul was greater than both he and John, which is massive praise of Paul! You can't get higher, more informed and meaningful praise. Dylan said Paul was more prolific of truly great songs and that he did everything and everything better than he and John. That's even better than winning the 97' Grammy for Paul. Paul Simon has said that Paul is a Tier One singer-songwriter and that both he and John are Tier Two. He's right and everyone now is finally realizing and coming out with that sort of respect for Paul. He's quite literally one of the Top 3 composers of all time -- like with Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Berlin and Rodgers. I love that for him.
La Co I actually didn't know that! Getting praise like that from one of the greatest musicians around is way better that just getting a Grammy. Some people don't know that Paul was the most artistic one and took a lot of musical risks and was very experimental. I think it was Geoff emerick the Beatles sound engineer(and the sound engineer In this album as well) who said that Paul was the producers dream. He knew exactly what he wanted from himself and everyone he worked with. It certainly shows in this masterpiece, FLAMING PIE.
I loved this video when it first came out and it is still one of my favourite documentaries. A genius with a kind and humble heart. ❤ Paul is forever the best!!!
It's so fun watching Paul and Linda together. ❤ It's also so very sad to see in his eyes that he was losing her. She was too sick to see him be knighted. She died the next year. 💔💔🙁 You and me together Nothing feels so good Even if I get a medal from my local neighborhood I won't need a castle, they've got castles in Versailles And I'm still stranded, wondering why Make it a beautiful night for me It's a beautiful night for love A wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Make it a beautiful night for me It's a beautiful night for love A wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Some boat's on the ocean We're here in this room Seems to me the perfect way to spend an afternoon We can look for castles, pretty castles in the sky No more wondering, wondering why Things can go wrong, things can go right Things can go bump, in the dead of the night So let me be there, let me be there Let me be there with you in the dead of the night
16:40 they ended up using that first set of photos for the Apple Music streaming launch. I always wondered where it came from since it has a contemporary vibe. Great film thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for the upload! I had this on VHS back in 1998, and I cried for Paul when Linda passed away that year. Great GREAT documentary on a great GREAT album.
Apologies if anyone else has mentioned it here, but in that last shot of Paul at the very end, you can see the comet Hale-Bopp which was very visible in the sky back in 1997 when the album came out.
Great video that I had never heard of before. This was my first CD to ever buy. Sadly it is the last one with Linda. You were lucky to be able to get past the CZcams sensors

Yess, he said that cause basically Paul sees both of them, John and Linda, as more "impulsive" in decision and in the way of thinking (this is what I understood, then english isn't my first lenguage so I maybe wrong idk)
The guy is a genius, that's for sure.... But what really bothers me is to see that, in a certain way... He expects that, whatever he does and even if he just farts, we tell him it's great.... We told him too much That's too much.... The World will continue to exist Without him.... The reasons why i love George Harrison 😊
There's another way to look at it. Apparently WE can't stop liking everything this guy does. Harrison held grudges for too long and had some mean comments for his colleagues (even outside the Beatles) at times. He wasn't all light and spiritualism alone and had egoistical behaviours with close friends, although that's not well known and he always falls into the peaceful guy persona.
Why do you guys think that Paul McCartney, one of the best songwriters of all time, and maybe my favorite songwriter, has so many bad songs & bad albums?
He needs someone to bounce off of. It's no coincidence that his best works post-70s were when he worked with someone to provide some amount of quality control. Flaming Pie he worked with Jeff Lynne and Steve Miller. Chaos and Creation he worked with Nigel Godrich who demanded higher quality songs from Paul, which frustrated him greatly. He may dislike having people say no to him but his collaborations are what ultimately make the best music.
@@macintosh7169 so Macinbullshit soo basically you're agreeing with what i have just said.....i if it wasnt for important songs like She Said She Siad....Dr Robert....Tomorow Never knows...Strawberry Fields....Paul being stupid that he always is descided to cash in on something like Pepper that no other member gave a no fuck about,,,,,,,John and George were finished with the whole thing....so Macincheese it was Johns band ...he started it and......and rightfully ended it....like i said if it wasnt for John.......no Paul.....FACT
Don't be stupid, Paul Has been the most prolific out of all 4 Beatles. John passed in 1980 yes, but Paul was way ahead touring and releasing music when John Was Still alive. I love them all, and in my view, they all needed each other. The Beatles (for instance), would not have been the band they were, without any one of them!
It doesn't really qualify as a fact, does it? They were both around playing music so to say that one would not have been there without the other is existentially wrong. If you mean that Paul would not have been as great as he is without Lennon is pure guesswork, and not a fact. I love them all and certainly agree that they made each other better. But what either would have achieved without the other, who knows.
I literally did not want this to end.
Same, beautiful night, beautiful man and his music that’s makes us all happy. Thank you Paul.
Flaming Pie is the album Paul should have been making all along. His best work since the debut McCartney, and the closest thing to a Beatles album since 1970.
@P.Galore, I also love _Flowers in the Dirt._ 💜
A great album, highly underrated,
So underrated that it got to #2 in both the U.K. And U.S. Also was certified Gold. Not sure that qualifies as underrated much less highly underrated
Overlooked. Not underated.
Always liked it one of the few McCartney solo albums I liked. So many good songs on it.

Feeling so emotional watching this now. How bittersweet to see Paul, Ringo, Linda and George together in Beautiful Night.

Paul has so much talent it's ridiculous. I'm in amazement as a fan of well over 40 years since around aged 9
I’ve been looking for this video for months. I love Paul and his music.
WOW! Biggest Macca fan here and never seen this in its entity, many thanks . What a great insight into his mid 90's world xx

Paul the ultimate PR man and diplomat, he always had that.
The ultimate human being, forget the cliches they don’t apply here, thx.
Would have been awesome to have seen Denny involved in Flaming Pie 🥧
As an Artist myself, I like Paul’s Artwork! It shows some real potential! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
This film is just Magic! One of Paul`s best albums in the making.
Jeff Lynne played, co-wrote and co-produced on the album. You can see him in studio at 1:01:37
Got mine 50p in a charity shop. Great album I play it alot when I want peace. ( On a Sunday morning). Like heaven on a sunday
I will never forget singing "Little Willow" to my new born child while putting him to bed. Pure magic.
Cant see why as he is definitely talking about death???
Absolutely Awesome!! Paul you are wonderful!! Love you forever!!❤️❤️
