    • @landaps

      Can you take one of those accent classes (probably free on youtube) to get rid of any accent that is hindering you?

      @fijianprincess2222 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @landaps accent and language barriers are 2 different things. I have no accent unless if I'm upset, but the language barrier is how words are put together in sentences and how you remember it when you hear it during lecture.

    3:13 If you cannot handle yourself for 4-6 weeks without getting high, then you don't need to be a flight attendant. You need therapy. This is a real job with serious responsibilities, some of which are stressful. If you need a substance to help you manage that stress (& all weed/cbd does is allow you to escape from it. It doesn't solve or cure your problems.) then you should not be a flight attendant. How can you care for others when you cannot care for yourself.

      So many GenZers think of weed as a lifestyle instead of a drug like any other. Dude, it's not Vitamin C, it's a mind altering drug. You're a drug addict, not a poet.

    All you have to do is prepare as much as possible prior to training and focus on studying! That’s why you are there. I would come home from training take and hour and hit the books. I didn’t get below a 90% on any tests. I made it threw but 5 days after has to put my two week notice in due to family emergency. I am going to reapply to the same one and also applying for others.

    I'm not looking for a FA career. The algorithm just put this on top so I decided to watch. Turns out, I wouldn't have had any problem with any of those reasons. I'm retired military and retired LE, so I'm out of the work force for good by choice. With my demeanor I probably wouldn't have been a good fit although I was a C-130 loadmaster in the military, so I've had to deal with passengers, but on a very different level.

    I failed training due to a lack of confidence during the initial opening and closing of the 767 door.
    All components were word for word.
    Even though I knew the door operation word for word, my confidence in front of the instructor was poor.
    I had previously worked as a flight attendant and was shocked by my own shyness during the proficiency. I had earned A’s on all exams. This was my only issue. In fact, six six other students were dismissed for the same reason.
    My advice, stand up and OWN anything the instructor asks of you!! You can do it.
    The company is allowing me to return in one year.

    OMG. I just WENT to training in 1988. Yes, it was tough. No, I didn't prepare. It was harder than I ever thought it would be and don't try to say it's harder now. You behave, you study hard, you give it your all. We had a bar onsite at training. Occsionally we drank, we partied...we showed up on time for class the next day and we busted our asses. Not to mention the weight guidelines that were in place then. I was 5' 6" and could only weigh 131 lbs. A supervisor could pull you aside in any airport and tell you you needed to be weighed. It was humiliating and thank God was done away with. Oh, and you could smoke on the planes in the back. That ended around 1990 or so. I flew for 5 years with American.

    I was hired by Northwest in the 90's. I took a urine test 2 weeks before they flew me to MSP for f/a training. In the 3rd week of training they said my urine came back positive. I asked positive for What? They didn't know what I tested positive for. Could I have fought my termination.

    Another reason is violating the hotel rules: causing a scene, having appliances in the rooms, if the room doesnt come with it then you cant bring it. smoking inside, loud music, inviting non crew for that airline to their room.

  • @fudgicle1427
    @fudgicle1427 Před 10 měsíci +8

    "not a great test taker" Lol. The entire point of testing people is to weed out those not qualified for the job. If a flight attendant can't handle taking a test, how on Earth can they perform the functions of the job? So you can't handle the "stress" of a test, but you can handle the stress of evacuating people from a plane on fire? Yeah, not how that works. Heads up young people - GROWN UP LIFE IS ONE LONG TEST. FIGURE IT OUT.

      I’ve been a teacher for over 20 years. I’ve also done several other jobs throughout my lifetime.
      Taking a test does not indicate whether someone can or cannot do other tasks or handle greater stress in other situations.
      It simply means that they have difficulty passing a written test.
      They aren’t less mature or responsible or reliable or a team player.
      For whatever reason, their challenge lies in taking the written or online test.

    • @landaps
      @landaps Před 6 měsíci +12

      You are seriously lacking compassion. I have hired people who were not so good interviewing but their job skills were excellent. No one determines which situations will make them anxious, giving them anxiety. You think its an option? The weight of what ever is riding on whether they pass or fail can be stressful. Lets step away from our EGO in 2024🎉🎉🎉

    • @yacoabreu9
      @yacoabreu9 Před 2 měsíci

      A standardized test of multiple choice when out infront of certain people can be the most daunting thing ever. Many people fail not because they don't know the correct answers but because they've chosen an incorrect answer. Tests that score when time runs out or completed can allow to go back and change incorrect answers but many test tally a score after each question where that isn't an option.
