Tim Foust (the Bass for HF) lives not too far from me, we've been friends forever, they've taken me on tours (a lot of the time I carry some equipment for them) help by being a volunteer roadie and setup. I love Austin like a brother and he does When a Man Loves a Wonam beautifully. The origianl was by Percy Sledge was done in 1966.

That is Austin Brown, the high tenor of the group. His soulful high tenor is amazing, his runs are rediculous, for more of him check out "When a Man loves a Woman". Rob Lundquist is the tenor (as well as Adam Rupp the vocal percissionist when not beatboxing), Tim Foust is the bass with a 5+ octave range, Adam Chance "Chance" is the bariton that covers bass when Tim has lead and also has an incredible range, and Adam Rupp is the vocal percussionist. Adam has drum solos out there he does during the live shows....there is an older one that is fantastic (red flannel) and new ones whos him even better using a looper. These guys are legit.
Little info. Home Free won "The Sing Offs" and one of Boyz to Men was a judge. He gave them props.

That`s Austin-he`s a fan of Sean= when Sean praised Astin`s voice on Sing Off -it blew his mind
It's not wrong.....it's adding their own flavor to a song....while still doing the song and original artist justice
I think also that the induction of the bass in this song is because itâs a âCoverâ and needed some variation different from the original⊠And because they also wanted to give Tim time for him as well.
I'm a country music fan.. oe hair bands... but I grew up listening to this in the 90's... love love love.. I still can't believe that they covered this so well. amazing.

Austin really does look up to Sean ? from Boys to Men,he said as much when they won the sing off 2013 when Sean was one of the judges.He said when Sean told him he was a fan of Austin well he said that was his proudest moment right there.On the 10yr anniversary of the show they sung 'stand by me"in part together.It was fantastic .way to go homefree and great reaction as always.
I donât know any group but these guys that could do this song justice.
These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre including R&B. Rob sang this with so much soul along with Austin. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. Tim's bass is great as usual along with Adam's awesome vocal percussion. Keep up your journey through Home Free. You will not find a bad song.

Theyâre so good. When they were on the show the Sing Off Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they wanted to do right by him. Rob did a great job on the lead and Austin (ginger) killed it too. Blue Ainât Your Color, Butts Medley, Helplessly Hoping to hear more great harmonies.

The fact is THIS ENSEMBLE IS SO FAR BEYOND ANY OTHER VOCAL GROUP EVER .... it is clearly a case of "personal Preference" or bias to say this version is not better than the original - WHICH IS GREAT - not just not on this level and broad vocal talent, range, production and experience !

I think Austin was channeling the late, great Percy Sledge in that one and Adam's percussion is off the charts, not to mention the background harmonies by Chance, Tim, Rob. Ginger, Austin Brown, is a Georgia country boy. Heâs got one heck of a twang. He sang a lot in church choirs. Then, he went to university, & is classically trained in musical theater. He studied hard to get rid of the twang, then, Home Free wanted it back, for their country vibe.

The high tenor has a you tube channel Austin Brown and he and his friends perfom song he has a black friend on piano and another on a guitar. In different songs. All of them are great. And Home Free covers a song they DON'T copy a song.

I love it by boys 2 men but Home Free killed it big time. What makes it a great cover is they put their own unique style to it.

I did read something about a 5th member who decided to drop out right before they made it big .. his girlfriend or wife got pregnant so he decided to drop out and then they blew up like right after that !!
