I was referring to an individual team or person who has no funds to support their project and would still design and code an editor for the community, I would happily pay for it.
To be fair, you can't say that sims 3 has better expansion/stuff packs. Once the sea from EA's milking machine for the sims 4 has stopped, then it's a valid argument.

A big chunk of modders won't even touch ts4 or have abandoned their projects, there hasn't been an expansion pack in like two years for ts3, modders are the star of that show and kept things new and exciting which is probably why he mentioned the sims 3 to me as custom content is what i posted about.
It's great to watch this series again. I'm creating my first world, and since I don't like islands and know exactly what I want in it, I got a large world surrounded by mountains. Sculpting, laying roads and lots and stuff like that all goes surprisingly quickly but I didn't know that the terrain painting would take forever.
I'm also creating my first, and it sound like we have the exact same world :D I'm really clueless and if you know more about the basics than I do, which I'm sure you do.. I could really use some help! :)
I’m doing the same in 2022. Made some small mountains for some borders and then some beaches and added distant island terrain since I couldnt get the University ep distant terrain to stop overlapping
i think some people are joking :D but it's also just called "let's create a world" and it doesn't say anything about ts3, and there's lots of games with world editor/map creator programs out there :D

Haha when you were talking about the volcano I thought you could make the criminal hideout rabbit hole at the volcano like a secret hideout. A secret hideout or lair criminal or hero would be a really cool build.

This is very SimCity-like. I love how it can be made more structured like this. I've thought some of the worlds are a bit haphazard, as though it's just been plonked there without a care in the world. Maybe I'll even attempt the octagon like I did in SC and fail horribly, exactly like in SC, and contemplate suicide upon realizing what a mammoth of a task I've given myself that I will never quite succeed at. I love this vid and even feel a slight affection towards you, Sir, for making it seem possible for me to construct a world like in SC and then enter the households and personally destroy their simulated lives even further.
I didn't start this world with the intent on getting others to work in it, it's mainly my project and something that I wanted to achieve by myself. They may build a house or two in it, but for the most part I'd like to complete it. After this we can always do a proper full on collaboration on a world.
This inspired me to get my butt back to my own world. I'm doing an all EP world, which most people flinch at, but I created it for the sole purpose that there are so many Base Game worlds out there that don't support EP functionality. EPs just add so much more life to worlds, at least in my opinion.
4-5 months after this video was made, house boats were added, and vacation island world with a volcano lot, was added...both from island paradise. Did you know about the expansion before it came out xD
The space between lots you mentioned will be one square. You can neaten it up while building by using a double gate, or a large deco item like flower planter box.
Yeah, I didn't bother though cause it seemed unnecessary at this point anyway. Like I said, I'll be replacing that anyway, so I may properly align it then.
They fixed a lot of the CAW Bugs after the Origin exclusive 1.69 update. It also introduced a bug where the CAW will sometimes delete the executable, and you have to re-download it again.
The houses over the water, that you mentioned in this video, will be much easier now that 1.55 is out, along with Island Paradise this Thursday. I would love to see more from this world with that particular feature :) - Chry, fellow aussie simmer.

This comment thing won't let me include the link but if you look for "Building Lots Over Water Without the Transparent Depth Effect" that thread has some good info on building piers and that kind of thing.

i think that not using any expansions is a good idea for people who want this world but dont have any of them.i only have pets late night and seasons so i think that is a good idea. cant wait to play it! i love your houses aswell! xx

I think, in terms of using expansion packs, you should leave empty lots, but build lots that people can download and insert afterwards, designed to go in specific locations - like night clubs, the fire station etc. :) That would avoid issues ;) And whilst my Sims isn't working at the moment, this seems like an amazing series and I shall follow it >=D

I noticed how you mentioned you may make a world with all the suburban houses neatly out side by side like irl and that’s exactly what I’ve been looking in regards to a new sims 3 world. I’ve been looking and looking and have not been able to wind any worlds that have a great suburban area (quite big for a big population and family growth with Nrass story progression) but I haven’t been able to find any worlds :( I have no clue how to use CAW either as I just can’t get it for the life of me! Great video though and if you ever did end up making that ‘perfect world’ I guess, could I have a link if you uploaded it ?! Thank you!!
If you check out the Lucky Palms world, I think you might get some inspiration for the whole "lots underwater" because in that world, they made lots that are like house boats. (Which I think would be an awesome addition to this world too).
your a good inspiration, im going to try to creaet a world for myself soon, im observing first how to start out the world level layers and all before i really get into it, i notice you can modify your sim world while in the game also

Yeah I know about that, like I said in another comment, I just wasn't that bothered with it at the time of doing this, I've done more since and have utilised that feature.
Do you first create the shape like mountains etc?? When putting roads do you just put them then flatten them after?? When adding lots do you flatten before you put them or after??? Do you add the streets after you add where you are going to put the houses and line them up to the houses or add the streets then line the houses up to them?

Most people have world adventures or late night , I have late night , but I only got it a few months ago x I have pets , late night , island paradise and university life xx
@TheSimSupply There are bridges with base game content... sort of... if you download the Riverview world for free at the Sims 3 website, it was released online the same time the the base game was. Pretty much the first store content.

Tan Howell The Sims 3 is the best game in the series tbh... HOWEVER It requires a massive amount of computing power if you want to run it at max.

I used XSplit to record my screen, it's also what I use for live streaming. I use Fraps for my regular gaming videos as it produces higher quality.

Yes you cant turn off surrounding water but you can add distant terrain to medium and large maps.

A hint, change the degrees of rotation by using the little thing at the bottom to like align everything up perfectly! :)

Says down in the bottom right of the window in the status bar as you drag it out.
You can make a Basic world and an expansion to those there want that so both parts can get the worlds your making :)

I use bezier curves in Illustrator all the time, but MAN I found working the roads to the direction I wanted in this was impossible.
Most people have world adventures or late night , I have late night , but I only got it a few months ago x I have pets , late night , island paradise and university life xx

@TheSimSupply There are bridges with base game content... sort of... if you download the Riverview world for free at the Sims 3 website, it was released online the same time the the base game was. Pretty much the first store content.
