Why is the Angeles Crest Highway Closed?

I was unable to travel to my normal drone launching area because the road was closed. Why?

It’s been shut down since 1978, there’s no coming back

@@DabzR909Highway 39 (San Gabriel Canyon Rd) has been closed to public highway traffic since 1978, not Highway 2 (Angeles Crest Hwy).
