I tried out the Rituel de Fille after your review and I LOVE it. I have light olive skin and I'm so impressed with the shade 115. It's about time a brand makes fairer olive shades!
So many companies seem to be reaching out with light olive shades these days - rejoice for this skin tone group! Kosas and Haus Labs seem to have good olive shades as well. Glad you love the RdF!

I love the necklace combo and that blouse is one of my favorites on you. Your retelling of the Sephora story was so relatable and funny, I can almost see the looks and side- eying. I don’t wear foundation but still loved the ranking. A recent butterfly product for me is the new CdP cushion foundation. I use it under my eyes and love the satin blurring finish it gives. It’s so pretty.
This summer, I found the Chanel water tint and I have been wearing it daily - even to the office. When the weather gets colder and I can tolerate (and desire) more coverage, my search will continue! Thank you for this video. Your thorough analyses are so appreciated!

I do! I shot a different video before this one with new makeup - coming up Wed - but I added the Tom Ford Shadow after I shot it, so that's what's on the eyes!

Rituel’s foundation has also been a game-changer for me. I use one drop and a concealer brush to cover just the areas i need coverage in- people have been fooled into thinking i have flawless glowy skin all the time at this point after wearing it every day since it launched 😅
Suqqu and Rituel de Fille are also in my current top five. Love them both! I'm medium tan and I wear Suqqu in 040 and RdF in 155. I'm Tawny in Tom Ford, 050 in Chanel and 4W in Dior for reference for anyone who's a shade match with me.

Agree completely about Saie. I have combination skin, more oily in the hot months, and tried this in cooler weather. I used my usual AM skincare: vitamin C, light moisturizer, sunscreen and the Saie. It didn’t apply well, didn’t look good and stayed tacky. Second day, I omitted the moisturizer, same result. Let’s not talk about the oxidation. Or the subsequent breakouts. Back to Sisley and Cle de Peau for me. Thanks for the video.

Always enjoy your honest down to earth views. You’re pretty damn right (you speak my language-lol) about what we want from foundations. To look polished, classic, even skin tone like we have perfected complexions, not makeuppy and not orange. So many foundations oxidize on me, I struggle with on line shopping. In fact, I wish RdF had more neutral shades and sold in stores. Love how it looks on you. I am a true neutral and 110 might work. I don’t want to buy multiples. BK Beauty = Lisa J. 😉
I also wish they had a few good neutrals. They just recently started selling samples - you might want to look into that!

I tried the RdF foundation for 3 days with different skin prep. It never sat well on my skin. I wondered if my skin was needing a little more TLC but then put my Chantecaille Future Skin on the next day and my drugstore CG Clean tint on the day after that and both looked great. I have a bit drier skin, no patches, but I guess everyone is different, and you just never know. Thanks for the video!
Everyone is different. You might want to give it one more try with less foundation - someone told me they had success with just one drop!
I ordered the Rituel de Fille, based on your review, and yes, I am exited in the morning to use it. Got a color too dark, but too covetous to send back, so ordered another. Will use the color that is too dark for skin tints that are too light.

New subscriber and so happy to find you! I'm in my late 40s with dry to combo sensitive skin and wear a fair amount of essence and sunscreen. I am ecstatic that you found Rituel de Fille. I found them a few years back as I was trying to find makeup that didn't give me a rash and was ethical and I was happy to find them. Have loved so many of their items and that you can put them on your skin without reaction. The foundation looks beautiful on you!

How you described how you felt about the Suqqu is how i feel about the Chantecaille gel foundation! That has been and continues to be my favourite foundation. The Rituel de fille is on its way to me....cant wait to try it. I gave away the Mario foundation...didnt dislike it but didne ever want to reach for it....
Yes, the feeling you get about a foundation you love can't be beat. Totally understand about the Mario foundation. I do wish Chantecaille would expand their range, I find the depth of tone (I think it's 3 or 4) is far, far too warm for me.

I love your 3 day wear tests. Really the best to see how products fair. I was wondering if you have tried the les beiges Chanel fresh tint? The newer version has supposedly more coverage that the first one.
Yes, I have - I think I did that one last summer. The biggest problem for me is I fall between shade 20 and 30. So I can only wear it when I'm darker (I bought the 30)
@@TheHoodedLid i understand. I have that trouble sometimes too. I thought about that when you talked about Jane Iredale not having any coverage. I think I’d like something like this for the warmer weather but want coverage too. I also agree with you that I don’t like such a matte, flat finish. I think you want to look healthy, radiant but not too much glow. I like the Rituel de Fille. It looks beautiful on you. On me it looks okay but I do feel it on my skin, especially in warmer weather. Better when for me when it’s not as humid.
Oooo, goes to show how different everyone is... I love the Saie and don't love the Rituel de Fille!! I'm 47 with dry skin. I do my normal skincare and the Saie foundation looks gorgeous, smooth and plumping on my skin. The RDF is just okay, I see all the texture and doesn't wear well :(. Also could not find a good colour - there is no 'light with neutral tone' shade so I bought 115 and 120 and mix them. But I did use your HoodedLid discount so thank you.
Absolutely - skin type and prep and preferences all count. With the Saie, it was just a smeary mess. I do hope RdF adds some shades to the mix - a few more neutrals would be great!

I’m currently using Chantecaille’s Future Skin, and the Skin Teinte from Sisley. I have combination skin, and these blend easily without causing irritation. I will definitely try RdF. Thanks for this ranking - it’s always interesting to see what works for others. Great video 😂

I like the Jane Iredale for summer. I've been using it this summer and when I want extra coverage I put on a few drops of concealer or Isdin skin drops. But I'm not a dry skin girl.

I can’t remember the video where you mention getting makeup transfer off the collar of the Gap shirt. I would love more details! I got Fenton Body Sauce on the vneck of a white tee and it won’t come out. I’m guessing because it’s silicone based? Even if it’s not directly applicable, I’d love laundry-makeup tips. XOXO 😘
I use a bar soap called Fels-Naptha you can get it on Amazon. Once something is washed or dry cleaned, in my experience, it's set for life. I get the shirt nice and wet and lather the bar of soap into the fabric, then I work the soap in with my hands and something rub the fabric together. Let it sit for a while - not long enough to dry. 10 minutes should do, then toss in the laundry with your regular detergent! Good luck!

Probably the Rituel de Fille! I don't love it when I'm sweating - the Haus is better for that but Dior Face & Body is best when I'm a sweaty Betty!

Hello, Thank you for your input and your videos! On the laura mercier foundation.. I bought it and was so excited about it and was a bit disappointed. I also agree with you on Matt foundations period I love the deodore foundation but in the last couple of years I have found that I can't wear it like I used to it accentuates my lines and wrinkles and it makes me look so much older. it has great stay however, I am fifty seven in my skin is changing!
Yes, it's funny the change in our skin seems to accelerate as we get older! So, we have to adjust and adapt!

After trying so many foundations, I finally found my favorites thanks to you! Otherwise I don't think I'd have found them.
They're also Suqqu #115 and Rituel de Fille #120. We have similar coloring, only I have more capillaries and redness to disguise.
Like you said, these are the most beautiful foundations! They apply like a dream and you can be build them. I always end up with a georgous dewy natural complexion which is saying a lot for my 65 year old face!
The only thing I dislike about Suqqu is the packaging. I wish they would change the packaging, it can be so messy. I'll keep buying either way though.
I occasionally use Georgio Armani Luminous Silk #4 too, which is a nice foundation

I'm so glad you love those two as much as I do! I recently had an Excel V treatment and will get another one soon to help with the broken capillaries. And a year and half ago I had a HALO treatment. I have done a video on the recovery from the HALO and did do another video which I still have to edit! I had a few BBL treatments which didn't work as well as I would have liked - but that will all be in the HALO video.

I hear suqqu is about to reformulate the cream foundation in the next few months. Just wanted you to know since you're shopping for a different shade -- may want to wait for the reformulation. Folks super familiar with suqqu aren't too worried because they say their reformulations tend to be even better.

I don't like Saie at all. I also had issues with the Ritual de Fille yesterday. It was blotchy and looked like makeup. I have oily skin at 67, but not super oily. Saturday, the Ritual de Fille looked much better. The difference was I used a primer yesterday. It might work better without primer. I use Naked Sundays sunscreen, which seems to work really well under all my foundations. 135 was too yellow for me, too. Foundations definitely depend on skin type. What works for one, doesn't for another, but some with oily skin have said the Ritual de Fille was great.
so true - also 3 drops is plenty with RdF - I can get away with two drops.
With the Guerlain I really noticed the alcohol’s impact on my skin. Like it ate away at my skin barrier. It seems you did too. It worked better for me with a great shade match with less product. Their customer service was lackluster and for me that matters.

What would you recommend for someone who uses foundation only occasionally, RdF or Westman Atelier stick? I live in Europe and can probably get Suqqu, you seem to like that one as well. I'm looking for something for very sensitive, very dry, eczema skin to use occasionally.
Since you're in Europe, Suqqu should be easier for you to find (RdF may be more difficult). Atelier stick may also work well for you since your skin is very dry. All good choices, but I had better luck with Suqqu as far as color goes.

One that people rave about that I have to give a thumbs down 👎🏾Shiseido Radiant Lifting foundation. It was smooth upon initial application but it was not radiant - it appeared matte and didn’t look good after 8 hours. After 8 hours, my face felt tight. I have normal to dry skin. My faves so far MUFE Reboot and Nars Sheer Glow. Too Faced BTW is hydrating but I got the wrong shade (making it work) - only con is that it can appear cakey depending on application method.
oh, I agree on the Too Faced - I used to own that (also had a hard time with the color) and it really did look cakey. I eventually moved on to something else. Love the MUFE Reboot, one of my favs

It's nice - I felt is was similar to the Kosas and Nars that came out six month before that Hourglass, so no need in my foundation wardrobe. Also Hourglass doesn't make a great shade for me (neither does Kosas or Nars - so I had to buy a couple of bottles of those - lol)

Have you tried the Estee Lauder Hyrda Rescue foundation and/or the new Nars under eye brightener? Would love to hear your thoughts on both!
Estee Lauder doesn't make a shade for me in foundations, so it isn't on my radar. I haven't tried the Nars - maybe I'll take a look at that one!

Hi, I guess the YSL all hours foundation would be too drying for you, right ? I live in a very hot humid country so I need long wearing, no budge foundations. I’m thinking of trying the YSL. Did you ever try that one?
You're right - I never gave it a 2nd thought after watching a few people review. They loved it - but had oily skin! I suggest the Dior Face & Body - I just ordered the new version and will review as soon as I receive it!
Do you think the Ritual de Fille will work on combo skin? I’m 58 and I still get oily.
I think it might - it doesn't feel oily to me. They now have a program whre you can order color samples - so many dip your toe in that way!
I am 63, and if anything, tend to get oily. I think it is beautiful and natural and did not settle in places that foundation normally settles on me. Also did not have any masky look. I think you should try the samples.

I have Rituel de Fille and like it, but I had a hard time getting the color down. I was wondering how you would compare it to Haus Labs (I also had trouble with those shades).
The Haus Labs I also have trouble with. In fact, I was in Sephora the other day and thought I'd try for another shade since I'm darker now (and I even got samples months ago - but I didn't remember what I got) it's just so confusing and they don't seem to have too many neutral colors. I did so a face swatch video with the RdF that might be helpful to you.

If you know you dislike matte foundations, I do as well, why waste time and money trying them. The majority of people who watch your foundation videos will have your skin type, same reason I don’t watch any of Angie’s foundation videos. Also certain brands are just for a younger audience, looking at you Saie. Also would rank the new Cleau de peau cushion foundation in your all time top three. I’m debating between that and the Ritual de Fie
I haven't actually tried the new CdP cushion because they don't make a great shade for me. In the cream foundation, I can easily mix two shades, but with a cushion, I can't...maybe I'll give it a go sometime - but I haven't so far.

What about fragrance? Is there a light scent or unscented? Thank you.
It smells a bit like oil - but not botanical oils. I think it's "fragrance free"

I tried the Rituel de Fille foundation and it creased everywhere. I have drier skin. What would be the best way to apply this? Thank you
Please take a look at my review video. I did my regular skincare and tried with three different sunscreens with great results. Maybe a sunscreen that has a primer feeling to it would help. I also wonder if you used more than 3 drops? I can see how it might be a problem with too much product. Another idea is to "finish" off with a damp beauty blend to take off excess.

I have very dry and dehydrated skin and I was overly excited to try the RDF 3 drop. It was horrible on me. It didn’t set down at all and was streaky. One of the worst foundations of all time. I tried different sunscreens and skincare of course. It seemed to require nothing under. Basically everything Kiki said here about Saie 😅 That said, I may try a sample this fall. I love the thought of so little product.

I’m so glad I got the RDF when you reviewed it. It’s a learning curve , I tried 6 drops to cover scarring, and that was a mistake .. I think it’ll be good in hot temps. Have u tried the new NARS pot concealers,? More of a color corrector stay safe with wildfires and billowing heat! (I write poems, so I’d love the notebook rec’s ) thx📘📗📙
