Perhaps they are just two sides of a coin, and the main difference comes down to intent. Both take a great deal of inspiration from the bizarre, our dreams and our subconscious. They just focus on a different aspect of them.

A lot of the hazy cloudy atmospheric images often are the setting sun my dreams. But like as places I’ve been before. I would seriously see that foggy playground in my dreams but it would be like the playground at a school I went to a really long ass time ago. It’s wild how close some of these can get for dreamcore. Most of it isn’t in the same vein but some of those pictures I’m like oh I’ve definitely been there in my dreams.
I also see weirdcore being closer tired to traumacore which delves into childhood trauma and feelings of severe depression along with other mental illnesses usually caused by childhood trauma. I think dreamcore takes a bit of a step out leaving the interpretations more vague and for the viewer.

I feel like Dreamcore in particular is a perfect form of escapism from the world we have where we're maintained in a state of slavery by our own Government. Constant work, unable to so much as explore what you want to explore, go where you want to go, even dreaming becomes impossible to those who have to sleep early and wake up super-early. I've had some dreams where I've felt utterly broken because I just couldn't go back to, they were perfection for me. I literally felt like wanting to cry because I had to go to work and I left that dream over work.
