Hey scotty is a 2007 2.4 eclipse a reliable car ?
hi Scotty, I live in phoenix AZ we are like 110° degrees already 😣 I missed your live couple days ago.. I'm having A C problems with a 2006 grand cherokee 4.7. I've taken it to a couple mechanics but they all have different problems. one can't find a leak, there's no hissing and can't find a leak anywhere. the other 2 mechanics said that it's the discharge hose because it looses like 70 pounds of pressure in a couple of seconds. you can see like oil residue on the hose.. any opinions would be greatly appreciated Scotty..
Scotty Kilmer key replacement
Scotty Kilmer my AC blows hot air when i am stuck in traffic, not moving. But after i step on my gas, compressor will turn on again.
Scotty Kilmer , Hi Scotty my name is Shirley Norris. My question is about my car's A/C. It blows cold when my car is going, but stuck in traffic my car blows hot air. What's wrong?? Help!
I'm a mechanic that fixes cars and is helping people out here, Period. When I talk about tools or products, they are ones I have found to work during my last 45 years of fixing cars.
Hey scotty my chevy silverado ac stoo blowing cold air when i stop what can it be

Hi help me I have a 2006/300 Chrysler 2.7 that blows hot air inside with the heat off why thanks
Scotty makes everything looks so easy just tried to do it myself and started to pull my hair out parts all over the place. My wife couldn't stop laughing.
Yea, it's not as easy as he says😅
. My wife couldn't stop laughing--- mind too that's why she is no longer here.
I went ahead and did it. Tried to be smart and buy a used guaranteed cheap one. Was sent a bad one now I have to do it all over again what pain
@@mikejohn0088 😭😭😭
1:55 haha when he said the compressor was leaking I thought he held up a cup of beer to say "well dang, that's really too bad"
😂😂😂😂
I was thinking it was a beer break
way more complicated than I thought but thanks for the great tutorial
I' ve watched 3 of his videos and i fixed each problem every time! Simple direct and getting the job done! Yeah you mahalos for the tips
Jesse Soares are you a Machanic???
Nope

SCOTTY IS AWESOME!!! I've learned how to solve every single problem for the past two years from him.
Just wanted to say I'm new to taking care of cars and your videos have been very helpful. And the fact that you take the time to answer every question you can personally is also amazing!
My sound card wasn't working when I watched this. So I studied the video, and did everything step by step. Finally when I poured the pint of piss on the compressor as shown @ 2:00, it solved everything.
+pearlmax lmao
hahahahahahaaha
Your comment just made my day bro
😂😂
😂😂😂😂. I've solved three of my car issues with a pint of piss lol
Scotty Kilmer is like the MD for cars!! I really look up to him!!
Thanks for the support👍
Mandell Hosea i know right
Scotty, I may not feel like changing my compressor (which I know is bad), but you energize me with your enthusiasm and make me do it. Thank you for your videos! Iv'e learned a lot.
check the connection at the end of the compressor, the wire that plugs into the compressor clutch may have come loose
Hey Scotty love your videos. Every problem I have with my 97 Tahoe, first thing I do is look you up. Your short and sweet style makes me feel like (hey I can do that). Some jobs have taken me longer than they should have but so far there's not a repair I haven't been able to complete. Thanks for all your good advice.
Scotty, you are the freaking man! This video is over four years old and I think you are brilliant. Had to comment.
yeahhhh, I'll let a professional do this one for me.
lol me too

@@venividivici4253 Have fun minding your own business
yea for sure he makes it sound so easy im wondering if he's talking to regular people or people with a good knowledge of mechanics buy this n buy that then what do you do with all those tools n equipment ???????
@@MrTarkus007 it's actually not as difficult as you think. I started tinkering more with my car and truck after years of taking them in for service. CZcams and various forums are a great way to learn.
The hardest part is diagnosing the problem like Scotty shows here. Sure, you're gonna need some tools, but that's to be expected. Compare the investment into some tools to a few shop visits. It's a no brainer.
A few years later, I've swapped alternators, power steering pumps, wheel bearings, lots of rotors and calipers, and the list goes on. Most things are very simple to change, it's just figuring out what's actually broken.
Seems simple enough, thank you for the video Scotty!
Scotty is an honest mechanic, hard to find.
Scotty kilmer is the real deal!! #madmechanic
Always check your AC compressor relay as well before you get too involved. Solved my issue by simply replacing it
This man was born with a perfect infomercial voice, and I fucking love it.
You're a good man. I always check your vids out when I need to fix my Crown Victoria.
Thanks, Scotty. Perfectly understandable directions. You ROCK!
if you don't do it yourself, call around for prices and PRAY you find an honest mechanic who knows what he's doing. I started fixing em myself cause I can't stand paying money to people who often know nothing about what they're doing.
Scotty is great! Love all of his videos and he has taught me so much. Just they type of guy you'd like to work with in a shop to learn all the tricks of the trade!

Awesome dude! I like how he roars "rev up the engines"! lol.
Thanks Scotty, love your enthusiasm. Your videos rock!
yes, most cars have switches to shut the comp off when freon pressure gets low.
check the refrigerant level, low gas does that. If not, often just a shot compressor or stuck expansion valve
Nice video! You made me feel like I could go out and do this myself lol.
Love your videos man. I had the ac on a 08 malibu that quit blowing cold but the coolant gauge would stay on cold as well. Changed the thermostat and ect sensor. Not sure which one fixed it but it's been blowing cold for a year now!
car ac work requires a reasonable amount of knowledge plus AC gauges to hook up and analyze the pressures. Start with buying gauges, or pay an honest mechani
Honest mechanics are hard to find.
I don’t have 50 bucks for step 1
Lmaoo
Ha ha hahahahaha
😁😁same like me
That's where I stopped as well. Lol.
How did you even buy a car then ? 50 isn’t much of a maintenance cost
you do it in such a good way, you seem honest too and i hope all mechanics become like you, like your videos
really enjoy watching his videos, just to pass the time.. lots of information
"Now we got nice cold air blowing in the face!" Love it!
I would assume changing those fans in the dash caused some electrical problems inside the dash. The system has to open and close doors to route the air through the ac evaporator inside. If that doesn't happen, no cold air. Check the pressures on your ac with gauges, and if the pressures are fine, that's it.
I have been watching all of your videos whether I need them at the present time or not. Knowledge is power, right? As of now, I am currently DRIVING and restoring a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 and my newest project, a 2001 VW Beetle. Both are running so my problems are not pressing issues at this time but I appreciate your videos mostly because you seem like a dork (like me) and your "easy fixes" have already saved me time and money. Thanks for all of your time. Good luck.

Scotty Kilmer Right now I'm working on 2 rebuild/restoration projects....I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 and my wife's new love which is a 2001 Gecko Green VW Beetle. Your video's have already changed my mind on how I'm going to repair some of my issues and I'm sure your shows and new videos will help out even more. Luckily for me, both cars run at the moment...You have been a lifesaver so far, Scotty! Thanks again. Good luck.
Scott, I figured out what happened. When I tested the low side PSI with the meter, it was 55 and I figured it was too much refrigerant in the car. I decided to let some out by using the screwdriver and push the thing inside to get the air and refrigerant out. I kept doing it some and then when I reconnect and check the meter again, it went down to 40 psi. Then it felt much colder in the car. Your video on how to recharge helped me alot.
you can try adding some, pray it's just low. but you really need high and low gauges hooked up to analyze it correctly
Hi - A/C in my 1999 E320 keeps running after I turn of the ignition. I tried to figure out which fuse controlled it but could not. I had to disconnect the battery so it would not die. Will keep doing this until I figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to fix it would be appreciated!
Scotty thank you so much for this video. My 2003 blazer had the exact same problem. I could hear the pump hissing. Replaced it and all is good.
Scotty is the natural born mechanic/technician...if ever I saw one...and obviously a most likable guy if ever you saw one...clear and smart on every tutorial.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

worn out clutches on the AC often do that, they do wear out over time and can come on and off, being magnetic they can come and go.
Hello scotty, I have a 2007 acura rdx , a/c blows nice and cold when idling but when I accelerate it starts blowing lukewarm air, but when I come to a stop it blows super cold air again. Any ideas?
are these all your cars or do people take their cars for you to fix? love the videos, by the way, they've helped me save a small fortune
I've been a pro mechanic for the last 48 years, they are other peoples' cars
Scotty Kilmer did a rebuilt a/c compressor bite you in the rear end
nbarrager Productions hey Scotty my ac is blowing hot air in my ram 1500 2009.conpressor and clutch is working fine also . My question is do I need to evacuate the system to add Freon or can I just go ahead and add more
@@topprotips5250 evacuate system always first. Pull a vacuum on it for around 1 hour to make sure you get all the moisture and contaminants out of the system then weigh the charge in using a refrigerant scale.
Thanks for video. It was very helpful in my repair. You saved me hundreds of dollars.
I sure wished you lived closer to us...my mom , sister and many friends could sure use your help! Im too busy and not a mechanic! Great videoa...very helpful!
if it's in the red zone, NEVER add more refrigerant that just makes it worse. Pressure build up is often internal ac restrictions that require taking the system apart to flush and repair the restriction
check to make sure the cooling fans on the radiator are working correctly. If they are though, check the refrigerant level, it may just be low.
Great clip, you need your own TV show! Now to figure out my own problem, of warm air from AC in my 08 Ford E250.
Scotty'; Thank you..! you are "Holy Saint of Auto Mechanics"
Yes I would on most MODERN cars, as condensers have such Tiny holes inside they easily clog up from debris. And all cars should have driers changed.
Now if it were only this easy.
lol almost never is
Lol
It is
Dang it, Scotty.... you always make it look so easy!!!
I really appreciate your response Scotty! the best low air temperature that I get so far is 60F in an outside temperature between 80f to 95F. Is this a good temperature or I really need a new expansion valve? thank you so much for your videos. I repaired 2 ACs so far with your videos and my own honda is really giving me a hard time! thank you again!
This guy is always straight to the point and has the best advice. In other words he's the freaking best!!!
Your enthusiasm is the best 😂🥰

The tail gate thing
I was kinda alright up until you took the compressor out. Now I’m like, “I’m good, I’ll pay someone else a some $$$ I don’t got to do it
But Scotty, you didn’t have to worry about it because the system was already empty, but if it’s not empty you must ALWAYS recover the system before you disconnect or open any part of the ac system
Huh what?. Irrelevant.
No, not recover the system. If it’s empty, there is nothing to recover. The word you’re looking for is vacuum. The system must be vacuumed to remove moisture.
I love the flavor in these videos. Too many DIYs are too long and awkward and all the facts are drowned out. This screams experience.
It looks so easy. I could watch you do my van all day long. Everything I try to do seems to be extra dodgy ~ I mean everything in my van that is. Now, after I recently added some new R12 (yes I had some and yes my air was working about 3 years ago, I sold it to my son and he sold it to a friend, his friend defaulted and gave it back and I bought it back from my son, lol), so it was my belief that over time it lost its juice (I hear conflicting info on this subject. Some say it has a leak if you have to add and some say, over time it will indeed go down (Freon) cuz after all it is in a system that has gaskets and rubber and such (like a tire that has no leaks, but actually looses about a lb of pressure a month, as an example). Well, anyway, my a/c clutch was engaging, but it began as soon as it got some coolant, the problem is it goes off and on over and over. As I added more coolant, the on process stayed longer, but it would go off on intervals, every few seconds. It is blowing cooler air, but I am guessing I need a new compressor switch (wrong name, but cant think of it at the moment). Hope someone will read this and give me some advise as to why the compressor clutch seems to cycle on and off very rhythmically???
Hey, what does it point to if the a/c blows cold when the car is moving but warm when idling?
I’m having the same problem
you are low on freon get a diy kit and fill it up.
Mine is almost the opposite. It blows scorching hot air when the rpms are high and blows cool AC air at night abd idling.
Jeremy K my radiator fans were backwards 🙄🤷🏾♀️
Are you using propane for refrigerant...? Or, did you buy it in a larger quantity...?
BigRed56 mechanics like myself use 30 pound cannisters of R134a cause it costs tons less that way
Scotty Kilmer
Reduce, re-use, recycle.
Hey Scotty firstly I want to thank you for your time and help saving money on our cars I wish I know all you know about cars but I m learning more watching a lot of your videos thanks again . I been trying to get an answer when you are in youtube live but I don't get my answer, 99cadillac seville passenger side is blowing cold air and the driver side blows warm I think is the actuator and code
Shouty Scotty nailed it, again!👏
I have a 00 Ford ranger n the AC clutch clicks on n off every few seconds.. is that normal?
even with heater too
sometimes it is. I had one car that did but there was no problems with ac system so I assumed that was normal. Besides, its the pressure switch's job to shut off the compressor
That normally indicates a low charge.
On today's edition of 'Where are they now?' Commander Data
Good One! LMFAO
Thanks, I've been trying to think for ages who he reminded me of!
Gosh Scotty never changes....he looks the same even in his new video.....👀💪
Hey! Love the video.
My van has dual ac. Rear ac working fine.
On the front. It was blowing hot. Opened up dash discovered blend door not operating. No biggie.
But the the evaporator is warm.
Lines going to it are cold.
Any ideas thanks

Hello and thanks for all of you amazing videos. I have a 93 4runner ac system that we recharged (was retrofitted) and worked for a few days. A dye test resulted in a leaky valve and we fixed it. Topped off refrigerant and the whole system stopped.. heater and all. A relay later, I noticed that the compressor now doesn't stop running, and we have warm air. I can manually rotate the compressor wheel.. just a bit at a loss right now. Any advise is much appreciated.
wow the amount of illegal A/c techniques in this video are amazing
lawyers have taken over the world. But here in Texas, most people don't care.
Yuuup!!
In older cars, you should ALWAYS change drier and expansion valve too!!! You said nothing about that?????......
Please define 'older.' My fiancee's is '95.
10 yrs, or older=)
No need if it's still working fine just evacuate and recharge dryer have silica inside once moisture evacuated its refreshened and the expansion valve if it's faulty replace it no need to change good working items
Disagree.....
Up to you if you have extra cash to waste buy new spares and ask your Indy to change your good working pars with brand new one I agree with those people who insist to waste thier money on that way instead of wasting it in smoking and drugs ;) nice man
Scotty your videos have helped me A LOT!!! I've been searching through your channel trying to find something to help me fix the blend door actuator on my 98 town car. I heard I could access it through my glove box and simply move it to cold in the summer and then back to heat in the winter but can't seem to find a video or explanation of how to do that. Any tips?
Thank you Scotty!! Thank you for doing this video on such a hot day. God Bless.
I have taken my car to be fixed 4 times, last time he charged me 350 bucks and it blew cold for 2 days, he said I have 90 percent leak in condensor and 10 percent in compressor, well I am about ready to give up. I don't know anither mechanic , but after watching you I will try it myself and see if I can hear the leak in compressor. Good video, too bad you are not in portland oregon,
Scotty is the best and has the best repair videos
I just realized this vid is 10 years old, you had some amazing camera angles, technique, and quality for it being 2010 😂😂
Scotty, thanks for all the great info! I have an '02 Acura RSX. A/C runs fine for a while, then compressor clutch disengages. Checked voltage at the compressor, and I'm getting 12VDC even WHILE the clutch is disengaged, so it's not an upstream power issue. When it is engaged, it runs smoothly and quietly - no bearing noise or indication of undue friction. I bypassed the thermal cutout -- same symptom. What to check next? Should I replace the clutch?
I saw people they add PAG oil on accumulator/drier. Doesn't hurt the system if it's too much oil. Thanks again
Hey I know that is a 84 or85 Celica Supra. Loved those cars a lady killed my 84 GTS last great cars Toyota built! Then they went way left and made no sense to me at all but my wife had three Camry’s hated them my self. Nice to see someone cares for these cars.
This actually humored me...during my exhaustive ac woes.
I heard it might be one of the pressure switches, hi or low side, what do you think? im going today to buy some gauges. thanks
Hey there Scotty, I just recently discovered your videos! Thanks for all the info! I have a BMW 325ci Coupe and ac is not working. Car blows are but not cold or hot. The little wheel in front of compressor don't click at all. Any idea what the problem might be? how can I check if the compressor is bad? someone said something about a relay or fuse problem?
