Evernham was still there when he won that. I think a lot of why he hasn't been as dominate in recent years is because he and Hendrick have put more into Jimmie Johnson to make sure that was a success, since Jeff is part owner. I think it's safe to say they were successful in that. :P
Yeah I'm the same. I been a Gordon fan since I started watching NASCAR so I'd much rather see him win 10 races a year than Johnson. I've never been a huge Jr. fan, but I'd like to see him get it together. He won't ever be his daddy but he's not a bad driver.
Can't forget Brian Whitesel (sp?), the guy he won his first two races with in 99 after Evernham left midseason. All in all, that was a good year but way too many DNF's. I think he was 7th in points that year, maybe it was 6th. Loomis came at the start of 00 which was his worth season since 94 up to that point.
Gordon wore a full face helmet his whole life. He came up as an open wheel driver, they don’t use open face helmets for obvious reasons. He stayed with it through his whole career. They just had him wear an open face for commercials. Kinda pointless to pay millions to star someone in a commercial when you can’t even see their face

Maybe Alan Gustoffson had to get Jeff a new cup holder. That's probably how Jeff's able to do so well this year. lol GO #24!!!!!
