Kiske was only 20 years old on this..He definitely gave it all on this masterpiece.Another excellent performance of his is on We Got The Right from the same album.One year earlier,in 1987,Helloween released their other epic,Halloween..As for Kai Hansen as a singer/guitarist,How many Tears and Ride The Sky are the most well known from their first full length album, but I find almost equally awesome tracks such as Phantoms Of Death, Heavy Metal Is The Law,Metal Invaders and Starlight,Cry For Freedom, Victim of Fate and Murderer from their debut mlp

With this band you are in a "safe spot", despite the change of vocalist and that there is ppl who prefer kiske over deris, most of the fans are really chill out about the two front man in Helloween, not like other bands. Helloween is one hell of a ride, an awesome band, you should give a try to the High Live album, this one is with Deris you would not regret, any song is great, if i would recommend one is Power, the way Deris commands the fans is so awesome. I have been in every concert they have gave here in Mexico since 2003, and the last two ones from the Pumpkins United Reunion Tour were insane.

Why can't they hold on to the singer? In this case, Kiske wanted to do something different. The band members argued. But at last, they are together again, with all 3 singers. But I believe that Hansen (the guitar player) will only sing sometimes and mainly Kiske and Deris will sing.
I also went twice to their concert..the last one in 2018 when they visited Malaysia during their reunited tour.. so happy to watch all the original members (xcept Ingo) are back together

Yea I've heard about that tour. I just am trying to be slow and experience each era the same way all the fans did. I'm trying not to just rush in to the new stuff
Michael Kiske stopped singing metal for a long time after he left Helloween, but he's done a ton of stuff since he returned to metal. Back in Helloween currently, he's done guest vocals with Gamma ray (Kai's band), Avantasia (which is what brought him back to metal basically), Unisonic (another band featuring him and Kai Hansen together), and more.
Kiske has never identified himself as a metal vocalist at the time. He prefered a more romantic style. He wanted to reach a wider range of people. You can listen the result on the album pink bubbles go ape and even more in the Chameleon. Offcourse it was a complete failure, because first they were a metal band and suddenly they were no longer. Kiske wanted keep it this way and other band members did not. So he left. As kiske tried his solo career he realized that he couldn't make success with more mainstream music and gave up. He made some appearances as a gest in other bands such as avantasia and set hist own metal band, unisonic, which I think you should listen to by the way.

You got it right. Kai (the original singer) was still playing guitar on the band and this was his last album with them. It's a real shame because his guitar playing alongside with his composing skills are awesome. Kiske wanted to do more upbeat and experimental stuff but Kai wanted to go back with the heavy and fast stuff. He didn't like the direction the band was going and after some tours playing songs from keepers 1 and 2, he finally quitted. He wrote the song "I want out" to express his feelings regarding the situation with the band. Kiske got what he wanted when the band decided to do more light and experimental stuff with the albums "chameleom " and "pink bubbles go ape". A lot of fans didn't like the new sound and the sales where not good. This and the constant arguments between Kiske and Weikath (the co-founder alongside Kai) led to Kiske being kicked out of the band.
Kay Hansen is in my world no.1 genius at key changes and tempo changes and Michael Kiske the perfect singer and this is one of the best songs of one of my two all time favorite albumes, maybe the favorites. You will love the changes after more listenings cause they are in my world the most brilliant ever but you have to listen more than one time. If it was so easy that you loved it all the first time, Hansen wouldn't be the muscal geniuse he is or you have a fantastic musical understanding :) Kaj Hansen was the guitarist felt that Helloween needed a better singer than himself to get bigger, and they got big but unfortunately only with two albums Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I and II. I agree hold on to you singers except Iron Maiden, what would the world be without Bruce.

"Gamma Ray" the band Kaj Hansen started after Helloween the song "Land Of The Free" there Michael Kiske is singing for Kaj Hansen again. If you want to react or someone else here wants a new fantastic song and album but Hansen sings on the rest of it.

I'm 40 by the way but I started listening to metal when I was 12 and at the time I wanted to listen everything I could put my hands on, which at the time for me meant that I needed to buy it or had to go through my friends collections and save it to tape (99% of time being this) so my metal journey went through many classics and newer bands at the time.
This was a diffrent version. It had more orchestra fanfare then the original. Great tune eh? Lol u should react to how many tears from United alive with all 3 singers its a treat
