- FIRST LOOK: The Blazer SS is back in a big way from Chevy. On the outside you will discover all new sheet metal, wheels, and LED lighting. On the inside there are new materials, a full digital gauge cluster and massive 17in infotainment screen. Powering the Blazer SS are (2) electric motors that produce over 600HP & provide AWD! The gloss black plastics look good for about 5 mins until they get all scratched up. Overall though, I think they have a nice offering. Inside looks pretty nice too.
SS all day everyday. Iâm feeling every single detail of the Blazer. Chevy is surely coming in strong with their EV models. It is still the Heartbeat of America. đŻđŻđŻđ€đ€đ€
Again Joe great review! I watch all your reviews. Great detail leaving nothing out. Great entertainment in your review also keeping things joyful to listen too. But love the colorful detailed analysis from the front to back and under the hood, exhaust, back seats, and on.
I think I prefer this over the quinox. Is always cool to have an suv with good performance and this seems to be quite fun to drive.
Oh I prefer it big time over the Equinox!
The materials here are definitely better than on the gas-powered Blazers. My big complaint about Chevrolets over the years is how, even on the top trims, they looked rental-car cheap inside and weren't worth anywhere near their price (the top Blazer trim cost upwards of $50K). Good to see that appears to have changed. I look forward to seeing the model in dealerships.
I read that the top of the line Blazer is $66k, too strong for me. Iâm more for the Equinox.
Owned chevys for many years and agree that the interiors even for top trims scream rental to me...
JOE AND LORI I CAN TOTALLY DIG this vehicle! THANKS, GUYS for bringing it to us! LORI YOU ARE THE MASTER of videography and production and a DARE DOLL!See you guys on another ride1
Great job, Joe. Welcome back to Michigan, hope we treat you and the family well. Gotta ZONK the rear wiper...needs to be tucked under that rear spoiler!!!! Chevy did a great job here on the SS. I am still a combustion engine guy, but if I were to go EV, I would definitely put this Blazer on the short list.
Awesome video Joe! I have a reservation for the LT2, can't wait to get mine đ
I wish this was raised up more like the ICE blazer. These new EV âsuvsâ are all just station wagons with maybe like a 1â lift. Basically no benefits over a normal hatchback like more commanding driving position, easier entry/exit height, or improved ground clearance for snow.
I totally agree with you Jake!
@@RaitisRides thanks for the reply, at least it looks good! These will work for many people, especially those who currently own a sedan and are looking for a bit more utility. But for those who owned a sedan then made the jump to a crossover/suv (like myself and many others), these new EV âsuvsâ are pretty disappointing.
@@jakes5530 excellent points
If you want easier entry/exit, then a higher "commanding driving position" isn't needed, and in fact, makes it worse. That's why old people like the Kia Soul - easy entry without the stupid unnecessary height.
And well, these are EVs, and as such, they want to favor efficiency over ride height.
Higher the lift the worse the range, as battery tech improves I think we will see more variation
Looks great! Canât wait to see you actually get one out on the twisty bends! Lori killing it as usual đŻ
@monax 3 x if they were really real wouldnât you think the actual account would send the message
The lights on some of these new cars are pretty cool đ
Excellent review. And the car look awesome. Maybe to much red interior. But in general look great. Thanks for this review
Super nice Color and style on this. Great Review Joe
Another excellent review, you are very meticulous and thorough which I always appreciate. The Chevy Blazer SS is so beautiful compared to other EVs with almost nothing inside. The instrument cluster and the infotainment system caught my attention; other EVs have nothing to compare. This is what makes EVs very attractive as well as the range (long range). I am willing to wait for the SS model, I hope they would bring down the price that I find very expensive.
Dang! That Blazer looks pretty good (especially in this SS trim).
They hit the nail on the head with styling!
@@RaitisRides I know right? It looks amazing!
Iâm late but Iâm here lol. This was freaking cool seeing it in person.
Thanks for the reviews you are the best.
Thanks for having my back Evan!
Thanks Joe for the video. Was
Curious if youâre were going to get a vid of the blazer ev. Have my exclusive reservation here on the east coast of FLA. If you need content once it shows up, let me know.
7:55 Infotainment system. đ Nice clean vehicle. đ€âš
They did a fantastic job for sure!
I really like the new blazer SS but I love the new Silverado EV! It reminds me of the badass truck from the old movie tango and cash. Chevy is at the top of their game
Iâm not a Chevy fan but this looks awesome đ
I am a chevy fan and I love it for myself and my wife and family smoke 90% of everything on the road.
Very nice. Love the radial air vents.
Same here!
Thanks for the great consistent content! Appreciatedâ€ïž
You deserve the best and I want to bring it to you!
It looks nice but man a LT4 under the hood would have been nice for the blazer before it went EV
PISTONS......YUCK...............Paul
I've been eyeing the Equinox since it's more in my budget, but this Blazer looks very tempting!
Those big monitors are standard on all trims.
Love watching his reviews
Wow. What a nice baby!!! Thanks for a good review!
I canât not tell a lie GM hit the mark inside and out with this EV
You are so very right Mike!
I think the styling of this EV SUV is downright sexy. I guess since Ford named their EV SUV the "Mustang" Mach E, Chevy can give this the Blazer name. I can't wait to see a full video on this SUV.
How or where do I DM you?
Telegram guy is a spammer
i now see why i didnt get rear parking assist in my 2023 Blazer RS AWD, all the chips went to 24's
Over all a beautiful design. Not sold on the EV commitment yet would hope Chevrolet would make this in a gas version too.
Gorgeous. Nice presentation Sir
Another great addition to the segment.
I got in on the preorder but disclaimer literally said dealers set final price. Can't wait for the market adjustment /s
Joe, I'm watching and enjoying another one of your reviews .... and I'm enjoying a Pumpkin Ale
It's not the EQS SUV but it is the next best thing I've seen thus far. Is that a HUD I see? I wish someone would make a video comparing the ambient lighting in this Chevy vs the EQS.
looks nice but I would be more interested more in a hybrid then full ev.
I totally can understand that!
HYBREDS have pistons........UGH.................Paul
Yeah, but you wouldnât get the 500 HP from a hybrid
Also, could you really put SS on a hybrid? đ
@@drknapp10 the put a gt on the mach e
Appreciate all the vids you guys have been pumping out. Keep em coming!
We have more to come from the auto show! Stay tuned!
The 2024 got my attention. Nice work Joe
I love this SUV it looks expensive than the price I'm definitely getting one I love itâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
I Didn't Even See That Car When I was There Must've Keep Passing It But Interior Is a A++
I'm not an EV guy at all but I am sure Chevy will sell everyone they make. Thanks Joe and Lori
Nothing electric deserves the SS badge. Sad times we live in!
â@@churchyandfriends I couldn't agree more. đą I've been waiting years and years for GM to come out with a new SS SUV, ever since I missed out on the original Blazer SS, GMC Typhoon, and the Trailblazer SS. Now they have surrendered to EV bullshit. If they do a ZR1 version of the C8 Vette, it will be a hybrid at best. What a disgrace.
This is nice they did a great job can't wait to see the wildcat since I will be selling them!
Lori and Joe: Thatâs the best looking electric suv imho. Thatâs for all the great content you provide. I would be very interested in the SS version of that. I believe Chevy has done enough yes.
Joe, im surprised you did not Z@NK the rear Wiper Blades, đ
...for not hiding it under the rear window roof spoiler...đ
Dig the styling !!!
That looks infinitely better than the Mach-E GT.
Wow.. This is a great looking EV Blazer â€â€â€
I am so glad that you are digging this one.
I like it. Looks like what a Camaro suv would be. Stats are great!
Love that inside đ
What is the range on this model? What is the average charging time?
Omg!!! That's a thing of beauty but the one I want is Chevrolet 2024 EV Silverado truckđđ
I know how you feel about that!
All that gloss black in the front will be filled with rock chips as soon as you take it out on the road! What were they thinking? It better come with paint protection film included in the price!
Nice to see more competition for performance in the small SUV
Interior quality finally looks the part
They did a great job with this Chevy!
The only thing I find odd is that most EVs now have flush handles. Even the Equinox does but the Blazer doesnât. I wonder if that will change for full production
Absolutely gorgeous but still not enough range in my opinion. Thanks as always for the terrific reviews. Loveâem. Keepâem coming!! đđșđž
I totally agree with you Billy!
Why isn't it enough range? Average commute is under 30 miles a day, last year half of all drives daily in the U.S. were under 6 miles 1 way.
Even If you drive 40 miles a day that's over 14,000 miles a year. đ€
@@4literv6 I travel by car extensively & I need 500+ miles minimum. Everyone has different needs. Long way away for me at least for affordable long range EVâs. Which is fine as ICE cars will be around a lot longer than people think IMO.
@@billyd7806 what do you drive now that gives you 500 miles of hwy range on just 1 tank and has the tech and power of a modern ev? đ€
@AnotherUser I've owned many ice cars and highly efficent one's at that. None got 500 miles a tank, and pulling off the road into a gas station and tanking up is always longer than just a few mins. Especially if you travel with a female partner. đ€
The fossil fuel industry is still the number #2 consumer of cobalt dimwit, they were number #1 until late 2019. The battery industry isn't even dominated by evs yet either. Of all battery elements consumed only 39% went towards evs in 2021. So billions of consumer use batteries and medical devices also use cobalt lithium and are not recycled. Care to comment on this simple easily researched FACT?
Did you even know that? Cobalt is also used as a stabilizer in every one of the hundreds of MILLIONS of lead acid batteries used in almost every single form of ice vehicle. Those same ice vehicle's also consume water electricity and cobalt to refine their fuels. And lithium&cobalt are consumed by the mettalurgy industry to.
Refineries alone in 2021 here in the U.S. consumed over 47twhs of electricity. How about dem apples?
The average car no matter what propels it requires mining, uses cobalt in its battery&fuel, requires massive amounts of water&electricity just to manufacturer it. Uses mining no matter what you or any other gashole type of ignorant fool says.
And the average new vehicle also has 20+electric motors to run everything. Plus cats spark plugs and some 02 sensors use platinum metals group's. Which are considered to be rare earths. Hence why cats are hacked off and sold off.
I'll believe the actual real world experience I have running a repair shop. And talking with my local emc manager, and the guys who install all of Georgia powers ev station's and many others with ev experience. Evs are cleaner more efficient , require less maintenance and can run of many types of power generation. I love driving on sunshine. Oh and enjoying an 8yr 100,000 mile federal ev battery warranty thanks. đ
What is the range? How similar will it be to the Honda Prologue?
5:32 Quarter Window looks like an afterthought... could have been design with the curve the top half better...(Its just a thought)
Man I love this Blazer
Did did a great job on these!
Looks fantastic
Nice centre console, gorgeous
I am glad that you are digging this one Joel.
As a Chevy guy who is fighting tooth and nail to keep my small block V8s in my garage. I wouldnât mind having one of these to go along with my Camaro and Corvette. I could drive it every now and then I guess.
Drive it once, And You'll forget the others..............Paul
5:44 Ah......so that's where Mitsubishi takes inspiration to the XFC concept's rear tailights....
Btw, i like how the tailgate has the DNA of Wuling Almaz/Chevy Captiva's tailgate
As soon as you said electrification I was done
I love it Joe and Lori and keep up the great work real true and I love the video lot real true and I love new Blazer ss I wish lt4 engines be good suv of chevy đŻđŻđŻđŻ
This is my favorite Chevy All-electric SUV.
Nice job with your content as always Joe.
Thanks Jeremiah! We appreciate you!
@@RaitisRides You're welcome Joe.
@@Aschoolbusandsimulatorfan2219 Thanks brother!
I've got the 2024 blazer ev rs and I've got to give it to chevy on this, the build quality is good so far, i look forward to the ss.
I wish they wouldâve went with a flat bottom steering wheel and aluminum pedals to make it a bit sportier especially for the SS and the price
That would have been a nice touch!
There's a lot of two-tone gone wrong these days...not against it, in general, just a lot gone wrong, including with this Blazer. The back looks like a muffin top with the two tone and shape. I'm sure the production model of the interior will be beautiful. Most manufacturers get that right with very few zonks.
That seems to be the current style.
@@RaitisRides I think you're right. Range Rover does it the absolute best, followed by some Jeep and Toyota vehicles. I'm just not sure if the same two-tone style fits this particular body. I think if they made it seem like a floating roof, similar to some Lexus models, it would have flowed better (made the absolute top red...same as the body, and had black in between).
The price and the warranty will determine if this Blazer or the Mach-E is comparable. And who has the fastest charging main battery when you are on the supercharger on you route.
The last trailblazer ss was v8 and looked good not feeling a ev ss vs a regular ss. Nice paint though
Is the gas version coming out as well fir 2024?
Cool looking SUV!
Wow! It looks even better than the last model. (In which was primarily based off of the 6th gen Camaro) Judging from what theyâve done design wise for this 2024 Blazer, iâm 1000% sure that the (new) Camaro is going to be drop dead gorgeous! Watch out, Ford! Lol
I thought the camaro was being discontinued
They got the styling down right!
@@yupperdude1 It is.
@@RaitisRides hate to see it go. Iâm sure it will go away for a few years then rebranded as their âelectric pony carâ to compete with everything else.
I think I prefer the equinox but honestly both look pretty good for a Chevy
Nothing wrong with that!
Does the rear and front bow tie light up blue?
Great question!
I was waiting for this reveal and chevy didn't disappoint, it looks great! Being a detroit native, i haven't been to the auto show in a while but i may have to pop in this year. Hopefully i get the opportunity to meet you and Lori in person if you guys ever come back up here. Keep the great content coming Joe!
See that harbinger truck back there. Maybe running on solid state batteries in the future?đ
Yes Raiti this beats the ford and the model y . On looks alone!!
So is this giant screen going to make it to the Gas model?
Great looking car!
Fast, fun, efficient and practical. GM has a winner on their hands and it will sell really well.
I think so. I'm just hoping the price point isn't so obnoxious.
Looks nice .
Iâm so glad you are digging this one!
It's a bit busy but looks pretty sweet
I think I prefer this over the quinox
This vehicle is HOT insideâŠand with 500 hrsprs! But to be honest I wish the name âBlazerâ was put onto something more beefy and off road like a classic blazer
Okay, I have to admit that this would be an SUV I might actually get. I love the two tone exterior design, I'm liking the interior layout. Pricing is important of course but I need to know the range. The Lucid Air has set the standard for the longest EV range at 520 miles so everybody else has to catch up. What's the range on this Blazer EV?
I am glad that you are digging this one.
The Equinox, fully loaded with AWD and 300HP will work for Me........I'll be first on the preorder list..........Paul
Sounds like a plan Paul!
Love the SS, but I wouldnt bust my ass to get one. The Blazer RS is also a good look, too bad they didnt have that or the LT at the show.
The only issue with the RS is that by the time you get all the options (AWD, Super Cruise, Moonroof), the price will be the same as the SS. đ
Please attempt to get GM to be honest and transparent about where the bulk of design, engineering, and development is being done on all of these ânewâ small electric vehicles you are reviewing. All of these new GM vehicles look like the chinese developed and sold vehicles here in Asia and stylized for the USA market with recognized GM badges on them. In Thailand they sold 100% Chinese vehicles as Chevrolet even advertising their 100plus years of heritage. GM clearly still tries not to discuss the Chinese Cars sold as Buick in the USA.
This looks nice
đ„đ„
I am so glad that you are digging this one.
Very nice. As long as the price point doesn't cause potential buyers to run towards Tesla.
The taillights give me a mad Lexus vibe
Sadly dealerships will put crazy markups on these and they wonât remain a great deal. GM wonât be able to produce a lot which will drive high prices. The Mach e at dealerships around me are sitting with 20k markups. At the same price as Tesla model 3 many just buy a Tesla and donât have to deal with dealership markups and BS fees. Dealerships are hindering legacy automakers.
If the range was closer to 350⊠this would be a Game Changer!! Waiting a year for a range of 290 gives me pause
I think you are so very right!
I'll say it, Blazer is just a name Chevy has used for their entry into trending markets. The OG '69 was just brought to market to compete with the Scout and Bronco. It never went away, it was just renamed Tahoe in 95 and it has dominated it's class in sales since it was changed to a 4 door. The we'll known "K5" never went away, although the two door was dropped due to lack of sales.
The S10 Blazer was brought to market to compete with the Bronco I I. Once more starting only as a two door before being available as a four door.
The redesigned midsize in 95 was built to compete with the Explorer. (We noticing a trend yet)
The name was brought back for the cross over market in 2019. Yeah, they already had crossovers but the Blazer was advertised as a more sporty and exciting model by being offered with the same 3.6 as the camaro. (I know, v6 but 308hp and 269 ft/lbs of torque in a cross over isn't half bad)
And now we have the SS EV to compete with the Mach E.
So don't think this thing has it's heritage routed in the product itself. The true heritage of the Blazer name is the marketing itself.
Please show the toyoda 2024 4 runner please
they don't have it yet!
