I remember being a child and getting up at 05:00am to watch the races that take place at the other side of the earth in live, rather than as rebroadcast. I had to go to the toilet multiple times before the race start, because I was so tense and nervous.
Micheal is the greatest race driver that ever existed and will ever exist. No matter how talented or successful other drivers are or will be - the aura Micheal Schumacher himself had and which he created around F1 as a whole is unrepeatable and his charisma is unmatchable. Such a remarkable character.
I remember I was 6 years old in 1996, accidentally saw formula one on TV and saw Michael. He became and is my hero to this day, and now im 32

If people are honest, nobody could have foreseen just how dominant Mercedes would be, but it was already rumored that they had the best hybrid system when he signed. Not saying I wouldn’t have done the same as Lewis, but to suggest Lewis played a part in building the Mercedes team into what it is now is nonsense.
TRL Jack I agree, Schumacher lead two teams from mediocrity to multiple championships. That's more important than the numbers, that is what sets him apart and makes him the best.

I feel like no matter what Hamilton accomplishes he will never be considered the GOAT over Michael. He will be up there with him but the vast majority will never give him the goat status. Tells you a lot about the dominance and impact Michael had on the sport. Watching Michael Schumacher driving the Prancing Horse was almost an out of body experience. The excitement, the passion, the sound of the V10s... It was remarkable. Hamilton's dominance in the V6T era will never match that.
Completely agree. Michael molded the team together to win the championship with Ferrari.
Don't worry, Hamilton in 2021 proved that he's a in different class* than Schumacher.

I visited the Ferrari: Under The Skin exhibition today in London where they have on show 2 of Michaels helmets the 1st and 2nd generation, his 1996 Ferrari racing jumpsuit and his 2000 Championship winning Ferrari and I stood there is utter awe. Dumbstruck by the power of these relics that were before me and I was very nearly moved to tears. When i was young my dad worked in Italy quite often and Michael came to eat at the restaurant of the hotel my dad was staying at. When my dad found out Michael Schumacher bad just turned up he asked a colleague of his if he could ask Michael for his signature for me to surprise me when he got back from Italy. My dad told his colleague that I had always wanted to be a car designer and this information was conveyed to Michael and upon hearing this Michael went so far as to write me an entire personalised letter and sign it off. I still have that letter framed in my room and each time I look at it I cry.

I am 40 years old soon. I treasured these memories of Schumacher's era. There was never anything similar to the fights of 1994-2001 in Formula 1. And I am afraid will never be. Best years of this sport. Thanks Michael! #KeepFightingMichael

For me at 61, F1 will never be the same. This ended the era of perfection, passion and personality. With a simple team like Jordan, the world noticed a brand new face on the block. A legend entered the arena and what a privilege to have followed it to the end. Only this last chapter was not fair. Life is not fair, so let's live and give glory to God everyday because all money in the world does't gaurantee the next day. Miss you Michael.

Not a great man at all. He tried to crash over Villeneuve to get his first title. Then he cheated to get his title in 1994. He was unfair on a number of occasions. He was just a great driver (the best on his generation, and probably among the best of all times)... But definitely he wasn't a great man.
Giovanni Quattrone villeneuve was a sissy boy who won only one title gifted to him. he is nobody in F1, uncolored spot. Hill who lost a title in 1995 never say Schum not deserved it.
He lift up Ferrari from shit into a great team. Everyone loved Ferrari that era because of him. Where stand Ferrari then with Alonso Massa Raikkonen Vettel and other top drivers? In ass hole.

@Retro Lover That is true. But it only puts further emphasise on the fact that these men had a lust for win which in essence is what makes a great champion. You have Hunt opposite of Lauda, Villeneueve opposite Schumi, Robbie Williams opposite Jackie Stewart... ;) Some men wanted more. For me Prost vs. Senna in the superior McLaren is the greatest rivalry the sport has ever seen. But neither ever thought: "I'll go to a second tier team and win 5 more titles. That'll show 'em." Schumi fucking done it. Cheers! :)

@@ccgzh Hamilton was in a top team right from the point when he first joined F1 and always stayed with them. Schumacher switched to the never winning Ferreri and made them with Ross Brawn and some others so strong they changed rules just to stop their dominance. And it seems they dont want to introduce something to take Mercs advantage and with this hole Covid-19 situation it seems they delay possible changes to 2022.
Possible 8 titles for Hamilton before some major changes, but even Hamilton himself said that he knows how great Michael was even if he might show higher record numbers at some point
'It's a rigged system.' Everything in recent years in major sports is rigged PC propaganda [$$$$$$$$$]. Schumacher never supported terrorism. Neither do the current Ferrari drivers, they just want to drive race cars. Sport will reset and regain its sanity, or die. For now, find better things to do.

As a Child and teenager was I a big Senna Fan, but when the maestro Mr Michael came on to grid I found that this driver was not about the car or the team or himself, it was the entire package and from his beginning days to his end days in F1 was I I supporting this man.

Absolutely brilliant video and without a doubt a worthy hommage. I was a Hakkinen guy so the Ferrari dominance was painful for me. But it's videos like this that make me realize that we spend too much time on rivalry and seeing the bad in people instead of understanding or appreciation.
That sequence from 5:35 to 5:43 from inside the cockpit was so beautiful. Not only for giving a feeling for the speed but for showing the man doing what he loved the most besides his family: Mastering his car with full focus at the limit.

Michael always said records are set to be broken but not even if Hamilton equals him in WC that is just a number, the carrier of this man is a record that I don't think not body is gonna be possible to replicate. My earliest memory of watching him race was in 2001. I always cheered for him to win and he rarely disappointed. It doesn't matter if someone eventually wins more than 91 races. For me, he will always be the greatest.

Maaaaan do i miss those times badly. I swear, back in the 90s and early 2000s, on a racing weekend there was nothing more important than Formula 1. Whole cities used to become ghost towns while the race was on. Everyone was watching and knew what was going on. Now days, people don't even know and don't care if there is Formula 1 at all. This was really the Golden Era of F1. And i'm so glad i was able to experience it with the best driver of them all.
