    I'm new to the Hue/Saturation adjustment layers, so there is one thing that is confusing to me. When you first start working on the layer, the Reds are selected in the dropdown, but by the end of the video, the Yellows are selected. I didn't see you change from Reds to Yellows, so did I miss a step? I just tried it on a model who has some greenish tint in her skin in our shoots, and this worked wonders.
    Thanks!

    • @PiXimperfect
      @PiXimperfect  Před 3 lety +94

      Hi John! It changed later because we moved the range sliders. The new position corresponded more towards the "Yellows" than the "Reds." That's why it automatically changed. Sometimes Photoshop also creates additional options in the list like "Reds 2" or "Yellows 2" to accommodate for the custom range that you have targetted. This is normal.

    🤠 Thanks for this tut. I've been ignoring the Hue tool for decades. Can't remember if it was covered in Photoshop Classroom In A Book or not. I barely even touch the one in Camera Raw. Usually for color-correction, I use the Auto Tone/Color menu commands, LUTs & occasionally the Curves tool. Those Hue sliders were so scary to use due to the minuscule size of the triangles & drastic changes with small movements.

    I love the trick for isolating the desired zone. Note: Not sure if this is the case or not, but if the transition area's falloff is linear, it might create a 'mach band' ( if the adjustment is severe ) - a visual artefact where the rate of change is abrupt ( discontinuous 2nd-derivative, aka. "jerk" ), whereas if the transition area's falloff is based on a cubic ( i.e. cubic interpolation, aka. 'smoothstep' ), then no problem. I wonder how Adobe engineers designed this?
