  • Severe storms tore through the central and southeast U.S. late Tuesday and Wednesday, spawning damaging tornadoes, producing massive hail, and killing two people in Tennessee and one person in North Carolina.
A storm that rumbled across northeastern Tennessee brought high winds that knocked down powerlines and trees. Claiborne County Sheriff Bob Brooks said a 22-year-old man was in a car struck by one of the trees.
Wednesday afternoon, a tornado emergency - the weather service's highest alert level - was issued for an area south of Nashville including the towns of Spring Hill, Chapel Hill and Eagleville.
The National Weather Service had previously reported a likely tornado on the ground in nearby Columbia, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) south of Nashville. People in Columbia were injured and homes were damaged, according to Lynn Thompson, assistant director of Maury County 911.
A video captured by Eva Grey Howard showed the frightful moment the tornado passes an area near Columbia, TN.
Howard shot the video while her husband John Howard was driving in the car.
"John, l love you, baby, you know I love you I'right? Always will," Eva Grey Howards can be heard telling her husband as fearing they may be facing death of injury." Dear Lord please spare us," she is heard saying.
    The couple escaped unscathed.

I'm a Southern California native. I've been in one tornado I believe it was in Iowa. To me, the tornado was more terrifying than any earthquake I've ever been through... 😬

      We will see about that
I guarantee you are dead wrong
There is a reason why God saves the biggest earthquake ever for last
Floods Fires and Tsunami are way more terrifying than tornadoes and hurricanes
Those victims are not talking because they are gone
Almost a quarter million dead with one earthquake that became a tsunami one day after December 25
How many have died in 633 tornadoes this year in 🇺🇸 it’s not even close
      Truth
      God is destroying the earth
God comes cruel with wrath and fierce anger to make the land a desolation
      All of it
      Nothing is spared
You won’t have one island hill or mountain tree or grass no animals nada
      He takes everything
All of it will be in the new heaven and new earth
God gave this message to prophets
