I honestly really love Leo/need's MVs because they get really creative with the classroom--it's the smallest "stage" of all the groups, but because it's so limited I feel so much more interested in how they vary the lighting and set to match the song, while a lot of the open stages MVs end up feeling more same-y
Sure, their backgrounds are nice, but they lack everywhere else. There’s no variety in the characters and what they’re doing.

yes!!! and they’re animated ACTUALLY PLAYING THE INSTRUMENTS !!!!!! i can’t be sure for the guitar and bass but the drums look right and the piano looks . Vaguely correct (they like never actually show saki’s hands lol)
I would definitely love leo need and its songs more IF every single one of the songs didnt have miku collab with Ichika the whole time.
They do such an amazing job with creating mvs and even animated the instruments correctly!
6:50 I actually think having miku 'conducting' the choreography throughout actually adds a nice touch to the narrative!! I think it's like, miku retelling this tragedy to the viewer about these two girls (especially at the end where she points at the camera at 'you were just transparent and pointed at me-' winking that one of the girls is haunting the other)
it's the rare moments like this in this specific MV that makes me appreciate how the virtual singers embody as a guiding hand for each group throughout not just their story development but their song's story as well!!!! it really made a huge impact on me when i first saw the MV

At the beginning I got "Wonderlands X Showtime". But my personal favorite is "Nightcord at 25:00" and a very close second is "Vivid Bad Squad" However if I had to pick a favorite song it'd be "IDSMILE", "Do Not Go", or "Foward"
Isn't it pretty much confirmed that Miku is the ghost girl? She's the only one that ever acknowledges the camera and actually looks at the player the entire song.
seeing someone finally appreciate Hello/How are you? and Law-evading Rock makes me so happy, like I absolutely adore these two songs but somehow people always criticize them or just don't really notice them??? this is sad
I'm a bit surprised though that Beat Eater didn't make it into VBS' top-10 because this song slaps hard too

law evading rock is a song I normally EVADED (haha get it im so funny) at first but it grew on me and now I love it

I'm honestly glad I downloaded and still continue playing this game. I have the EN download so some songs I don't see due to them being in the JP version. it's opened me up to more vocaloid stuff, as the only songs I've frequently listened to from Vocaloid was Romeo and Cinderella and Miku's Ievan Polka. Been currently binge listening to Bring It On and Ready Steady
It's opened me up to a long of songs and producers too, which I agree is super cool!

I assume the video is on the Jpn release song list (Normally I would avoid spoiling myself of future songs that are gonna be added but I'll definitely make an exception here). I hope to see more Project Sekai content from you in the future!

At first I was disappointed that I didn't see Fragile in the VBS song list, and then Cinema was #1 and my disappointment is gone now. That is my FAVORITE commissioned song and probably my favorite song in general that they've done, so I'm happy it got the top spot!
Also we love Law Evading Rock, my friend's brother accidentally called it Tax Evading Rock and now that's its name in my brain forever but it's still and ABSOLUTE banger.

In shoujo rei's 2d mv, Haruka and Shizuku both have shadows but when Miku is standing next to them you can see she has no shadow, making her the ghost girl. The giggle at the start is supposed to represent is Miku on the tracks and the giggles at the end are Shizuku and Haruka on the train tracks.

I haven't seen the full jp song list, but as someone who plays the Project diva series and watches the concerts, I could tell you Kaito and Meiko really don't get as much spotlight of the six Crypton vocaloids, then again its probably not as easy to use/tune them for songs, but who knows really?
I’m going to be honest here, the vocaloids in the sekai versions are usually poorly tuned (unless they use the OG vocals) so as long as they’re adding a little bit to the song as backing it’s preferable .
That said, there are songs where a vocaloid is “part” of the MV/song but you can’t hear them at all. It isn’t just Kaito

Eve, Giga and Ayase are some of my favourites, im not even gonna lie.
Neru is also up there. Their songs are just too good
i felt so old when you said "raise your hand if you were introduced to drop pop candy through undertale lol" undertale wasn't even a thing yet during my first vocaloid phase,,,, i found the song through jubyphonic tbh
also how could you say "no mv available" for literary nonsense thats like my favorite 2dmv its so cool what!!!!! also just one of my fav sekai versions in general, but i also wanna note len's particularly good tuning on that one. the robotic sound contrasts super well with the more distinctive/expressive voices rui and tsukasa have, and also having len be the one to sing "the 'real me' doesn't exist/there is no 'like me' or 'not like me'" what a fitting line for a vocaloid!!! genius!!!!!
as you like it is also one of my favs, but personally i like the rui cover wayyy more than i do any other version (besides original eve cover ofc) i didn't even know this WAS a miku song, and so the miku version sounded out of place to me, but the full wxs just sounded too shouty?? like personally i always got a more toned down vibe from the song, so a full chorus just seemed like a bit much. honestly didn't help that i had just started the game, so i wasn't familiar with any of the voices or other covers yet. part of the reason rui is one of my favs is bc i had to get to know him through area conversations, to raise his rank enough for a cover card, bc my last hope for having an enjoyable time playing that song was "ok its a solo dude like eve maybe itll be close enough to eve's version itll be ok". honestly now that im more used to the voices i think the full group version sounds mostly pretty good now, but i still think the chorus is too shouty tbh (ily emu but PLEASE calm down). i also think i interpreted the song very differently than you did?? i always thought it was about a guy who had a crush on a girl but couldn't get the courage to say it, but steadily they get closer and he thinks he has a chance, but right before he can confess his friend gets the girl first. i'm bad at interpreting lyrics though, so i'm probably wrong tho lol. still, that was the impression i was under, which definitely made it feel more like a solo song to me rather than a group song. plus, its thanks to rui's cover i was able to play the song enough for it to be the first expert level i ever cleared, so ill always be grateful for that

Yeah, I think you're right. While I mentioned Teo and Ray feeling similar to Stella, turns out Needle was so similar in terms of tone and theming that I kinda fused it and stella together in my head a bit. oops, lol
when Shoujo Rei (Ghost Girl) got announced I actually like to think that the story in the song isnt about Shizuku and Haruka, rather it goes back to the main story with Haruka and Mai
Now I havent read stories (oops) but from what I heard I know that in her previous group Haruka pushed Mai too much which cost Mai her career as an idol as she lost her voice, the story in ghost girl is based on another story where in Person A loves Person B, however A is part of a group of bullies that push B to suicide, A never interfered out of fear of the group going against them. Now while not as intense as the original story we can assume that Haruka did love her previous group, but when she pushed the girl too hard that it ended her career as an idol gives off the same energy as the original story
Now while I would love a Haruka solo to emphasize that story I love the sound that ShizuMiku add, and overall it works to enhance the cover while Haruka is still focused on clearly, and Miku serving as sort of a narrator while ShizuHaru interact is cute cuz it also maintains the energy of two people despite being a three person choreo

Bit late but, Eve fan here, thought I'd explain a bit of the songs lore (As You Like It), It's basically an identity crisis. fueled by hope. kinda. Its complicated. The Eve songs have an interesting lore, Revolving around depression, anxiety and those things. each represented by a color, atleast for his earliest MVs. Nonsense Bungaku, which i am pretty disappointed is not on this list, is black, Dramaturgy light blue, As You Like it yellow, Chocolate Town red, Demon Dance Tokyo green. the story honestly starts with Sister, a song about a kid who lost his sister. So yeah, basically As You Like It is a representation of The Boy's hope, you can see him on a stage singing. Basically his dreams or fantasies. The Hand Man you can see in the original MV is basically his ideal self, just not represented as it probably is. You can see him literally split into 3 in one scene. So hope that cleared things up a bit.

for shoujorei, miku is actually the ghost girl! if you look at the original mv, the ghost girl has no shadow in the picture, while her friend does. In the newer 2dmv miku doesnt have a shadow, which is a cool detail

For Leo need tale of the deep sea lily is also my favourite but that's only cause I have the global version otherwise it would be ties with my two favourite vocloid songs as it is ghost rule and lost ones weeping also I highly recommend for ghost rule lens cover that you can find on yt and Spotify it holds way more emotion then Miku's cover

the fact that don’t go wasn’t in the leo need list is a crime
Its a bit of a hassle to get used to but oddly enough the 3 best units are not only 4 stars but one of them is also free and once you have them and get them up to speed this game becomes more of a wombo combo fest rather than feeling like everything takes forever to kill.
Bennett, Xingqiu and Xiangling are the 3 units and all you need to do is try to look up a guide of the rotation technique that a good amount of players used to make things go faster. essentially rotation consists of chaining every characters elemental skill and bursts in a certain order certain skills can be stacked onto others to make your main damage dealer do even more damage.
I never expected you to be into rythmn games like Project Sekai but this was a nice surprise
