In doing some research, I noticed that by International standards, A4 paper measures 11.69" long and 8.27" wide or 8.3x11.7. or 8 5/16 x 11 11/16 inch, but it's different for those of us in the U.S. Our A4 papers (and card stock) are 8 1/2" x 11". So, those of us in the States would need need to use 12" x 12" cardstock and cut it to the dimensions of 8 5/16" x 11 11/16" (for construction of the "tunnels") in order for 8 1/8" x 5 3/8" base pages to fit properly on the tunnels. This leaves about 1/8" border around the base page, when it's glued to the tunnel. I hope this helps!

at the end of this tutorial i will do offcourse the spine also please be patience and wait till the hole album is complete . perhaps you have noticed that my house was in a storm and i am now living in a unit and not in my own house . it probebly take 6 months or a hole year to fix everything . in the mean time i try offcourse to finishe this tutorial . i do my best . just wait and keep my youtube in your sight . thanks for your lovely comment. xxx scrapqueen

thank you verry much , hope i can craft soon , it works relaxing for me and that i deffently gonna use right now haha the upper floor is now complete empty , below we cant sleep but during the day i can use my bathroom toilet and my craftroom too . hope as long possible . for the month of july i am in the desing team for ephemeras vintage garden so my priority is to finishe that first and then i will go on with the tutorial but ...... i have # 5 en # 6 allready finished yet so for the next two weeks you will see the tutorials coming online . but you know a house is a house and a car is a car that evrything can be fixed . i am sooooo happy that i and my family are safe and well . thats the biggest bless i have right now more i dont need . and you and all my folowers are soooooo nice and kind to me that makes my days complete satisfied . xxx scrapqueen

Sorry, but I got quite lost with the hidden hinge part. Wondering if there is a more detailed /from start to finish, (with measurements) version that I could use. I just seem to need a bit more instructions to be able to understand and follow along. TIA
The tutorial with this double hidden hinge is explained by kathy orta herself she has a patten on it so i cant make a Tutorial for it . Otherwise I need to buy an expensive liscense. So how this double hidden hinge workes is to be found on her channel. The only thing you need to measure your own is how wide it need to be to fit on your spine . Thats all . Sorry more i cant explain my hands are tight with this patten . Xxx

jeetje , ik ontdekte jou dit weekend op you tube....heb uuuuuren zitten kijken. koptelefoon op en manlief had geen last meer van me hahahaha en ben weer compleet geïnspireerd door jou ....had veel albums gemaakt maar zie dat ik nog veel kan leren van jou ook heel veel ideeën opgedaan ( gebruik nu ook acryl stempelblokje om met mijn lange nagels het tape af te scheuren top idee). vreselijk gelachen ook om je .... wat een kei gezellig mens ben je ( brabant zo te horen) zit wel met heel veel vragen over materialen maar ja jij zegt googel het maar alleen niet alles kan ik vinden wat ik wil dus hoop dat je toch stiekum vragen wilt beantwoorden ,,,, merk wel dat wij veel dezelfde ideeën hebben ook ik werl al jaren met het "potloopstreepje en meet ook nooit iets af ... ik ga snel verder kijken bij je , groetjes Marijke

its just contact paper and is mostly be find in hobby stores or hardware stores its the foil you use to cover up old furniture

Love your album but I hope I'm not the only one but I was confused by your tutorial. I seemed to have gotten lost with the hidden hinge aspect of it and at the beginning not sure how you made the cover. Wish I could have caught on better it is such a beautiful album.

the dies i use for the borders are from crealies . dont know if its availeble in the usa , i guess so . other dies that i use are from spellbinders or xcut

I do have some questions. On this album, I noticed that the spine is larger than many albums I have seen on the web. Could you please share the size scored for each hinge (example: folded over it is 1" height?) and what are the sizes of the gussets on this album?

do you mean the birdsong album ? thats not finished yet . the mirabelle album is bigger and if you mean that album I used the hole 36 sheets of it . but thats u bigggg album the tutorial for the birdsong is not finished yet but I made the measurments perfect for 12x 12 use . so you dont need that much
How in the world do I page protect in a mini album?
I love your tutorials! Easy to follow and beautiful results. At the very beginning of this tutorial the album you show is not the bird song line of papers. I have tried to track down what they are and ended up at the Santoro site and their 'if only' line of products but....no paper. Can you tell me where I can buy this paper?

Question, why are you making a double hinge? Is it to make the hinge longer? I've not made a book with the hidden hinge system.
when you make big fat pages the pages would not lay flat when you flip True. with the double Hinge they do . so you can work easylier in the album after its done to Wright in or put photo.s in .

in the tutorial you could see how many lines I use before I score . use that as measurment please . my house is now not liveable and I am try ing to fix a emergency home in my garden to live in . so I can't check right now . sorry

The Graphic 45 Birdsong paper I find is different it has geisha girls. It dosent have the anime looking girls, thats why i was confused. Thanks for getting back to me!

Hai ik zou graag willen weten waar jij de zwarte cardstock voor de buitenkant vandaan hebt
voor de buitenkant ? dat is geen zwart cardstock . dat is gewoon grijs cardstock en bedekt met zwart folie waar je ook meubels mee kunt bedekken . dat soort folie . is volgens mij ook te zien in het begin van het filmpje als ik de cover in mekaar zet. rest van het zwarte papier is van clairefontaine zwart 160 gram
ok ik weet niet welke folie je bedoeld. Jammer dat je niet laat zien hoe die gemaakt is de buitenkant met de cardstock. ij was in principe al klaar. ik zoek wel ff verder voor de buitenkant. wel super leuk maar doe maar gewoon in het nederlands hahahah

please watch the tutorial of kathy orta ( King ) . for better explaning . the pages are more laying flat then the normal Hinges. special when you make fat pages .

its in cm 29.7 cm by 21 cm ...... I use black cardstock 160 gram. but 120 is also perfect to work with my brand is from clairefontaine its nice smooth paper . but any brand you like or find is good too offcourse. Xxx scrapqueen
