The Maldives is amazing, clearest water i've ever seen, lets hope it picks up more local tourism rather then just resorts!!!! Thanks for watching.

Im from maldives.. so happy that people from other countries like our culture and oceans
me too bro me too
Kaloo gayaa
Yea I was also a while ago on the maldives. Beautiful place but your islands (especially locals) are dirty. You have no self awareness of cleaning your own dump...
Ladi Da we are trying to fix that
thank you
I'm from the Maldives, and I'm really thankful that you explained this well to the people who'd like to come here but put the Maldives off from their bucket lists because of the insane prices that the resorts offer. The local guesthouses do the same activities for much cheaper prices and you get to experience the beauty here just as well, this way! So thank you for explaining it !
The flights though 😢😭. Any recommendations?
Hello
I’m Abdullah 29 years old from Saudi Arabia. Can you give me some tips to find cheap good accommodations and good privacy for Muslims for me and my wife for honeymoon.
Can you suggest me more guest houses and hostels?
Thanks for saying this.... I put this on my bucket list...and I thought all they had were resorts....that means, i can actually make this a goal...
I did same too last year.
Me and my wife.
11 days on a local island.
Financial break down at the end. 2,200 Euro. All spendings. Inklusive flights from germany and speedboat transfer, food, activities etc.
As you mentioned.
Same ocean.Same reefes.
Actually the activities from the local island are even more exclusive.
We made a anorkeling trip on the reeves. Just me my wife the guesthouse owner and his helper. Actually the guy offered us the whole day and said we can do what ever we want. We went to every reefs before the huge mass of tourists (literaly hundrets in double decker ships) from the resort island arrived at the spots.
While the resort islands are paked with tourists on every square meter, our local island beaches were empty. Because the locals just dont care :-). Again...just me and my wife.
And yes. Allmost everything is spend to local people insted of rich investors. This is so great.
Spending 100 dollars on a local island a day has a much higher economical efect to the people than spending 1,000 bugs on a resort island. Thats crazy.
But tourists should concider that the local islands are not disneyland.
The locals live their usual life there. They are worshipping muslims.
Sometimes they can be shy.
So dont walk theire around with typical "I'm such a free minded hot pants and side boobs showing shirts wearing modern back packing person".
The cultural live is sensitive and I appreasiate it.
Expect no wild parties, alcohol, drugs and sexy wanabe advertising like photos at the beach and you will have an amazing time.
Also it should be concidered that the resort island are getting cleaned every morning. The local islands could be quite dirty if they dont clean it up regulary.
Ay Ak can u pls tell me which month were u there and where did u book the local island
this is a very informative comment. i too would like to know where you stayed. id love to travel there and learn a different culture.
Juan2003gtr , he was talking about all expenses inclusive of airfare.
Plus the local expenses can be much lower if you can make some Maldivian friends.
@@khadijakin5755 Hey Khadija. Sorry saw your question late. I've asked the guys for the best season during our stay. So November till March/April is the best season.
We have been there till middle of April. We were very lucky. Weather changed just when we left.
I've booked the accomondation on air bnb. But it was not pension/guesthuse. Not a private home.
Dining could be little bit tricky if there are not enough restaurants.
Our dinner was actually the most expensive 15 dollar per person (so 30 Dollar together) but it was great with fresh fish from the reefe.
We stan ppl who support local businesses. Thank u from
A local Maldivian
Yo bro what Island you from
Let's connect mate! Want to visit your country :)
im alsw maldivian
Thumbs up for 'supporting local business' statement !!
Maldives is on my bucketlist! Thanks for this Jorden 👌
no worries, you are gonna love it! Amazing place!
Yeah it’s cheap this way everythings good but since Maldives is a Muslim country females need to be more sensitive about the clothing while you enjoy beach or swim since you are living with the locals..
@@prongmomi there are bikini beaches at some of the local islands that have guest houses, other than that tshirts or normal shorts would be fine
Let me know if you need any more information I am a maldivian
Come visit
100% agree with investing in local economy! Great point! Encourages local business which increases local food and cultural presence to the streets! Well done
as a maldivian I didn't actually know that most of our resorts are owned by foreigners, now it all makes sense why a few maldivians are so rich, yet most are barely making ends meet when it comes to health, education and many more necessities.
Amaanie Adam , plus our government suck at controlling the income.
O shit
So yeah, im trying to be informative for once haha if you have any questions just leave them below :) follow me on instagram @jordentually for more tips!!
Hi Jordan, whats a good source for finding lodging or in your case a guest house? Thanks. Love the video. You rock!

@@taitran-nk1tk kindly message me on twitter @ahoomads if you wish to find out about guest houses, facebook: Ahem Manik, instagram: Hazbaat
Too good video. Thank you so much. And yes, u r sooo cute
Thank you for showing the good side of country, do drop by to thw south most Addu City of Maldives if you visit again... I assure you are gonna love it. That was a great video thanks for supporting our local economy 😊 cheers!
I love what you said about Maldives, I'm Maldivian, and yea Maldives is seen as a really expensive place, but it doesn't have to be, go to local islands, people will treat you like kings and queens. And while you are in a local island make friends with some of the people and get some free fishing trips and diving trips
That is amazing 😊!
Salam aleykom. Could you please recommand me which island for example ? Thank u ❤
We'd opt for the locals just for the cute messages on the bed already 😜! Thanks a lot for the comparison... wanted to scuba dive in the Maldives for a long time already - so can't wait to finally go!
This is the guide I was always searching for Maldives. Thank you so much Jorden 😊
Gave me great perspective, kudos to you bro !
Cool bed u have there...😀😀
Thanks for the very informative video..
Hi from Istanbul, Turkey. Lake Salda is a lake located in Burdur, Turkey. We call it the Turkish Maldives because of the white sand and the crystal clear water , local people call it the Saldives ❤️
Dude thank you very much for the advices and the time invested to do a great video like this one! all the best to come my friend! thanks a gain
Really like your energy man!!! Super informative video, down to earth and cheerful personality, I see you going places!! Keep it up!!
We went to the Maldives on a budget too and I’m so glad we did. We went to an island called Ukulhas in the high season for one week. We paid £550 for 2 people with breakfast included!
Jorden, you're awesome. I love your spirit. Thanks for sharing this valueable information with us.
Hey mate, quality video, you've definitely helped me plan and prep for my holiday to the Maldives 🤙
Absolutely perplexed by the way you walked us through, felt like almost was a part of your journey
Great video, Jorden! Please make more videos similar to this :)
as a local, I am immensely grateful that you showcase the authentic side of the Maldives. awesome video man. cheers
Excellent this blog my friend, great insight 👍🏼
Thanks for making this video! Nice to know that one can visit a place as far away and remote as The Maldives and not sweat the price too much. Excellent video.
Sounds so good..hope I can afford to go there one day. Thanks for sharing
Local is always the best way to go! The point of traveling is not only to see the area but also to embrace the local atmosphere, it's more hands on experience. And being cheaper is always a plus😅
love love love from Maldives ❤
Hi Joden, nice video very informative. I have a vacation planned for maldives from feb 9-16 .. Hoping its enough time to cover the main islands. So can u suggest if maafushi island wud be best to stay and activities like snorkeling ,scuba diving , parasailing? Thank u
Thank you Jorden. Great tips, very exciting!
I love how funny you are in this video! We are looking to do Maldives in the next few months on a budget, and your video was equal parts hilarious and super informative. Thank you for this!
Very interesting and useful video! Thank you Jorden!
Super informative! Loved it! Wow crazy how the resort is 10 times more expensive 😂😂
yeah it really is crazy!!!!
Love your personality!!
Thank you for the honest tips dude.
Bro thank you for this video 👏🏾👏🏾
Now I really want to go to the Maldives because of you!!!! Thank you so much!! love this video.
Good video, just like to remind people this is a Muslim country as such alcohol is not allowed on local islands, also most local islands also have seperate tourist beach where bikinis can be worn, once you have left the beach it's respectful to cover up 👍
Are you abyan from brightway international school
@@naisamnafiu8939 no sorry. I am UK based
Juan2003gtr , radicals are everywhere but Maldives is one of the safest country in the world. Make some friends from Maldives, you can have an awesome local experience time.

Thank you for this information it has changed the way i look at the money to spend coming to stay at one of the resorts.I realized that I can save alot of money
nice. Thank you for sharing.
Esse era o vídeo que eu estava procurando!!!! Obrigada por compartilhar ❤
Finally! Thanks for this lots! I wonder if they allow families at Kirulhiya?
Anywhere in Maldives families are welcome as the local are very much family oriented, therefore all guest houses will allow family vacations.
dude you're awesome! thank you for this!!!!
This is really helpful - really good and informative video 👌
Thanks from the maldives.. and thanks for supporting local businesses.. 👍
hassan samir is there a local where I can see overwater bungalows? I really love them

Thanks to share such great experience to us
I 'd like to go to the resort part of the Maldives with my lady. Perfect place to get away and Relax. Great video Jorden!
I'm from maldives
And I agree with most of this
Hi akbar Sallam I would love to come Maldives
Thanks for sharing these Information! Good job
I went to the Maldives twice last year and both times to a Resort. I'm going again next week and once again to a resort. Your video is very informative and we can clearly see that the the sea and the coral is exactly the same as in Resorts. I have considered going to a local island and have looked into a few. However, I love watching sunrises and sunsets while enjoying a cocktail or two. Unfortunately you cannot have alcohol in local islands. We are not binge drinkers but my husband does enjoy a beer or two and I enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine. Holidays are the most important time of our lives and need to be enjoyed fully. I understand local customs need to be respected but no one can impose either religion or what they can eat or drink on other people. If locals want to have more tourists, improve business and have a better income, then the government need to change the alcohol policy. Meanwhile Resort owners who are either owned by International Investors and even Maldivian banks are getting richer and richer and attracting more and more people like me who are willing to pay for an experience.
GReat info! Thanks
This made me want to go to Maldives yay! Where did you go to do the inexpensive local activities? Is it offered in the place you stayed at?
all guest houses offer such activities, dho the reefs depend on the islands you stay at.
I’ve been following Jordan for 6 years now I’ve loved every second of it his play button is well deserved well done m8
Wow actually eye opening video👍
Fantastic video! very informative. Thanks!

Wow ! Thank you for this information.
This Would Be Really Helpful Jorden ! , i am from maldives . ❤️
How much would you charge per night to stay at your house?
Good video. Hey how did you book your time at this backpackers? I am trying to find it online but haven't found it yet. Also Is october ok weather wise? or better to go another time? thanks
@Jorden Tually, loved the video! I just had a quick question on how you got to Male? Where did you fly from, and how would I go about finding the cheapest plane tickets? Thank you!
Thanks A lot for the information sir👍🏽 it’s certainly great to know that I’m closer to going to the Maldives than ever. 👍🏽
Really cool and informative video!
Great video! Didn't know there was other options besides the resort bec it is so high price. It is my bucketlist destination
Part of the maldivian true experience is sleeping in an over the water villa. To experience it even just for 1 night will definitely make the experience a mile better. 😊 Beach situation also is different in private islands as compared to local island. But day trip to different island can definitely give that experience.
thanx for sharing mate#whatheck
ty for this video & for supporting local! was reallly helpful!
Thanks for supporting us locals 👌
How much would you charge per night to stay at your house?
so happy to c this video , and yes what jorden told on the video is true. and pricing is also correct .. come and enjoy the simple life of the local islands of the maldives
Hi great video, what month, did you travel? how much did it rain? Kayx
Rained very little I went in November
Thanks for all the great tips!
Thanks mate, great tips! cheers
What are the best times for seeing the crystal water?
In the rainy season, the water gets cloudy due to high winds and ocean currents , but when we say rainy season in Maldives, it does not mean raining 24/7 during the months mentioned in the video.
Once the rain stops and sun shines its crystal clear, there are times even in the rain the water is crystal clear as long as there no high ocean currents and winds.
Im from Maldives!! Nice video❤
How much would you charge per night to stay at your house?
soooo apreciated!!
On you dude, good vid “new sub” 👍
Question:: Is it possible to book on the resort but do the activities off of the resort for cheaper? Also is the food on the resort included or would you still have to pay separately for the food?
Really good! Thanks!
Love this video. I love traveling local. You are one of the only vloggers that have shared this kind of info. Great job!
Thank you it was helpful
Thank you very much, I found the video very informative because I am planning to visit the maldives next year and while I will spend a few days in a resort, I'd like to stay some days at a local guest house. Swimming with whale sharks is on the top of my list of things to do so this video was super helpful! :-)
