      Be prepared for a radically different feeling bow. The draw cycle is very aggressive compared to the x8. You may need to shoot lower draw weight on the Dragon 10 to compensate for the added difficulty in drawing it back. The Dragon 10 is also harder to tune for fixed blade broadheads flight.

    Hi mate, it looks as though Sanlida has modelled this bow on the Hoyt platform. How does it compare to the Ventum Pro 33? In regards to draw, wall, feel and shot? I own a Sanlida Hero X10 target bow, it’s similar to the invicta.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před rokem +1

      It feels different than the Hoyt's that had a hybrid cam system. It reminds me more of an APA feel. The draw weight stays high till the very end and it doesn't have the valley feel that the Hoyt's did. The limb stops are built like Xpedition so you can tune these differently than you could with Hoyt's. So from that perspective I'd say this bow is more of a cross between and APA and Xpedition as opposed to an older Hoyt that used a hybrid cam.

    What's crazy about this is, most of the bow hunting youtubers who reviewed the dragon X8 actually liked it which made me get one. I'm genuinely curious to see if they review this and see how it compares to others in it's price point.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před rokem +1

      I'd say it has many aspects that are better than others in it's price point but the draw cycle is much different (more aggressive) than comparibly prices bows. Most bows in the process range try to appeal to newer archers so have a smoother draw cycle that will also be slower. Also, this is a machined riser which bows typically won't have in this price point.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I guess it depends on what weight you would plan to shoot it at. If you normally shoot 70 lb and want to shoot this bow around 65 then you would probably want the 70 lb limb. However, if you're only going to shoot 63 lb or less then go with the 50 to 60 lb limb. I have had some that register 63 lb even though it was a 60 lb limb. It simply depends on where the cables are set, meaning, if they're a little bit shorter or longer than manufacturer specifications.

    Sure would like to see draw curve data on reviewed bows at the lower range of poundage. You just do it for the max setting of their strongest bow, why no do the same throughout the range, maybe at lowest then highest of both ranges, 50-60 then 60-70. Everyone doesn’t care about speed at the bows highest setting, some are near mortals and can only use 50# but would like a review of the bow at that setting, not 70.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před 11 měsíci

      My friend, do you have any idea how long it takes to make one draw curve? You have to put the bow on a draw board, crank it one inch and then sit there and wait for the weight to stabilize and give you an accurate reading. When it eventually does, you have to log the data onto a data sheet. You then crank to the next inch mark and wait. When it stabilizes, you can log the data on your data sheet. Then you crank to the next inch mark and wait. After a while it stabilizes and gives you an accurate reading and you can log the data. Then you can crank to the next inch and wait. You do this over and over and over till you reach the end of the draw length. Once all the data is gathered and put into a spreadsheet, you then have to go in and highlight the sells you want to use to make a chart. Once you have that, you then need to export the chart in PDF. Once in PDF, you then need to convert it to a JPG so that it can be usable in the video editing software. This means you need to open another program to convert the image and crop it and size it so that it will fit into a video frame. Then you bring that into the video, and it still does not fit perfectly so then you need to manipulate the image all over in the editing. That is all for one draw length. If making youtube videos was my full time job and I had all the time in the world to make draw force curves for every single draw length of every single bow I test, I would love to. But don't forget to do that, in addition to everything I already mentioned, I have to change the draw length each time. Depending on the design of the bow, it can require a bow press and be a little bit of a process just to change the draw length. If you want to pay me to do the type of extensive reveiew with draw force curves for every draw length I would be happy to do that, but right now, youtube is demonitizing my channel and making it harder for people to find it and my subscribers keep disappearing and then writing to me saying that youtube keeps taking my channel off their subscribe list and then they cannot find my channel when searching for it. Some people have told me this means that youtube has shadow banned my channel and is trying to squash it without letting me know that is what they are doing. In other words, it does not make sense for me to put all the time and effort into doing what you are asking. I am just an average guy with four children and I have a lot going on. Again, if you want to hire me full time to make videos full time so that I can justify spending that much time on every video, then I would be happy to do that, but as it stands, I cannot justify that much time and effort, especially since youtube is essentially squashing my channel as it is. God bless you.

      @@seansoutdoorsnot sure how to reply concerning the money making possibilities all you CZcams posters have, nor do I know anything about CZcams blocking content of anyone’s channel as I have no subscription to YT but have no problem finding you. I do feel you give good and honest bow reviews, but in general, all of you guys are leaving out at least 50% of viewership by posting only reviews of the highest poundage options of any bow you review. So maybe a full spreadsheet and draw power curve is too much to ask for, but maybe throw in speeds of the bow at its different power settings and draw lengths. Can’t say that this would or would not be beneficial but the manufactures don’t tell you this info so it would be nice for those reviewing the bows would review the bow at its full range and if it has 2-3 models, include date from those. Heck, you are getting paid for posting on CZcams, correct?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před 11 měsíci

      It all comes back to time it takes to make reviews. I make very detailed reviews when I can. I will try to make a review on all the draw lengths if or when I can, but it won't happen right now because I cannot make the time to do it. I make very little on CZcams. Regarding the testing at high poundage, the reason why I do the testing I do is that the ATA specification standards for determining bow speed is at 70 pounds and 30 inch draw. That is why I do my testing there. It is so that viewers can see what my data looks like compared to what this bow advertises as well as what other bows advertise as their ATA (Archery Trade Association) specifications are.

    Hey Sean, I have been trying to get in touch with Sanlida. I need a set of strings for my x10 hunting bow. I called them and emailed them twice, and they are not responding. Is there anyway you can contact them about this? I spent $500 for this bow. If I would have known they were this way , I would have gone another route. Sorry for contacting you about this, but I have no other resources.

    How's the accuracy?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před 9 měsíci

      My experience is that they did not pre stretch the string and cables so I've had to constantly retune this bow. When it goes out of tune the arrows hit very differently. When the bow is in tune it's accurate though, just been a massive pain re-tuning this thing, sometimes multiple times in one week. I'm getting sick of it. Better string and cables would make a big difference.

      The riser on the 10 is machined, which is a much more rigid riser made from a much more labor intensive and expensive process. There is also a lot more material in the riser of the 10. That's one major contributing factor.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před rokem +1

      They are also extremely different in the draw cycle and speed, but that does not have to do with the materials that contribute to a price difference. The Dragon 10 is significantly faster shooting, but it also has a much more radical draw cycle. The Dragon 10 also is a hybrid cam system as opposed to a double cam system like the Dragon X8. This means that the tuning approach is different and the ability of the Dragon 10 to stay in synchronization is a little better than the x8 due to the incorporation of a control cable that slaves the two cams together. In other words, these bows are extremely different, and if you like the smooth feel of the x8, you would not like the aggressive draw cycle of the 10.

      quick question, dragon 10b was shooting great. started bare shaft tuning again cuz groups at 50 yards were 10-15 inches and am having a severe nock low tear, like arrow is 45 degrees pointing down in target. cam timing is spot on, arrow is parrallel through berger hole. i tried lowring rest and bringing up d loop. any ideas what else to check?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Have you tried adjusting cam lean? I had a similar tear and put some cam lean in, which solved it but I figured other people may have some challenges. I reported that same thing to sanlida. I am going to experiment with shimming the bottom cam to see what that does to the whole process. If I find a shim configuration that works better than the current one, for overall tuning, then I am going to let them know and recommend they change that detail. Email me through my website so that we can stay in touch on it and I can more easily update you on that. It is really difficult to sift through all the comments on here and find responses to old comments. God bless you.

      Thanks. I'd say it maybe feels a little like some of the turbo bows Hoyt was putting out years ago, but even at that it's still a different feel. Reminds me of my APA Mamba I had, only this is a hybrid cam system. Mamba was duel cam with duel yokes so there was nothing to slave the cams together for synchronization.
