Foot Doctor Zach explained in his video that the tech of Tatum 1 is in complementary to Tatum's style of play. He even added a clip of Tatum's footwork ingame which demonstrates why there is a focus of tech in the forefoot area

Visually they are striking... How a signature shoe should look like... But given the build.. They really are for playing only... Which is why retros will always be around... 😊

Very light shoe. Make the Zoom Freak 3 feel heavy and it’s a low top! Has a zoom air unit and/or carbon fiber plate in it as well. You definitely can play in them.

This is the shoe I’ve been waiting on to see how it all works. Looking forward to the performance review by Alan. Really surprized by that “floating” mid foot area though…..thought maybe that area was supported by the plate but guess not. I wonder if it’s all to really promote forefoot play.
Jordan brand should hire you. That example with the 28-29, i didn't notice what they did differently, except that the zoom units kept popping for other athletes in the forefoot area; so they switched their placement or position in the 29s. But it was very informative.
Was never really too excited for these but its definitely still a let down to hear about all these issues. 38s look much better than the last few years Jordan models but what I really cannot wait for is the new Sabrina Ionescu 1s!
I have these Jordan’s and I think the traction is exceptional, but the looks are all I need anyways.

I barely play any basketball nowadays but I’m thinking of picking up the Tatum 1s Pink Lemonades as both a basketball shoe and a lifestyle shoe just because of the colorway
I was so excited to get these shoes then learned that it does have a big forefoot zoom but its thin thats why Chris almost can't feel em & the heel area is sketchy... Hope u can review the Why Not.6...
I wasn’t too sure they’d be a great performer HOWEVER, they are great ! Yes the outsole isn’t extremely durable but man that shit grips lol , even outside. I got mines on sale and had to double up💯 super light and the Zoom in the forefoot is elite in my opinion. I hope this helps one of y’all who were on the fence
Quick question, I'm planning to use this as a walking shoe and not shoe for basketball or gym shoe, so do you think it will last long enough? Using it in malls, street walks etc.

Looks-wise, I think these are gorgeous. But, man, it's a bummer the tech isn't as optimized as it could have been. I'll just wait until they're on sale and try to fit in as a lifestyle sneaker.

i either saw or read an interview of JT wherein he mentioned that he helped, not just with the design, but with how he wanted the shoe to feel when worn.

Love this colorway and sneaker but I will rock only for lifestyle purposes the Tatum 1 is a hit,also not to jump off subject I heard Kyries new line is going to be with the Chinese based brand Li'ning Chris can check into that.
Recently pick up a pair, the " old school" color way. They're decent bball shoes. If your an ISO type player you will love them, the ball of your feet is what I feel the shoe is centered around. If you run a lot, cross over and constantly moving I don't recommend them. Grip isn't that good.
Just ordering these as a pair of daily trainers. Hope they are good for that 😎

That heel part, with continued use, will start gripping eventually. Idk if there's some layer on it but whatever it is, it will be grippy.

Do they run slightly long for anyone else? Like I feel I have a LITTLE Too much space between the toes and heel when I wear em compared to my other shoes

I just got these. The right air zoom unit feels less bouncy in comparison to the left air zoom unit. The left air zoom unit feels bouncy like the Air Jordan 37s. Anyone else have this issue?
Well honestly I hoop and model my game after tatum, and just like him I do not use my heels and I love light shoes. So this might or definitely will be the shoe for me

Yeah but Jumpman is the logo of Jordan brand so as Nike’s swoosh and Adidas’s three stripes so brand logo and signature player logo will always co-exist.

These are so dope looking, but just based on first impressions, sounds like they are not for me! Being slender, lenoweave upper, and the bowing between forefoot and heel. Hopefully I can try these on for size in store, I’ve been anticipating this his shoe among the new signature shoes coming out. Nike Sabina 1 looks dope as hell

I think these look really good.
I wonder if JTs PE's have a plate he's a pretty big dude almost 6'10 if he doesn't he's Def getting tht Boeing & torsional midfoot pain, I'm sure he has custom insoles perhaps that's what allows him to actually play professionally in these things.
The foam pattern looks a lot like the Yeezy foam runners, which had surprising good traction for a croc type shoe. Not really for a bball shoe though

Foot doctor chopped them up and the reason why you can't feel the zoom too much is because the zoom is paper thin
I was stoked to use these for volleyball but no heel traction or cushion is scary to me. tbf it's tatum's shoe and that man doesn't use his heels almost ever so
I gotta admit on looks alone they look very cool and advanced. But man….my goodness the tech details Chris knows about this shoe! Wow! And he didn’t even cut the shoe in half lol 😂 Great review though bc this helps me make an educated decision whether to buy or not buy. It does seem that the JT Jordan shoe needs improvement after hearing all this, I wonder if it rains and you’re walking you’ll still might slip or not. Bc that midsole & outsole seem whack lol 😂

Update from Singapore:
The pairs being sold here in SG have the sections that are using translucent rubber in the outsole switched to SOLID RUBBER!
Same in thailand, i just bought mine and got the same solid rubber.
I was excited for these shoes, but after Chris' detailed analysis, dang....it's missing a lot of key features....
Are these comfortable ?
I’m a bit confused in regards to the traction. It is mostly foam and is said not to be as “grippy” as other setups. So how does an elite basketball athlete like Tatum play in these night in and night out and still get buckets? I don’t see him slipping and sliding often in the shoe either. Will someone answer that for me? I’m curious. 🤔
Buy the shoe and play in them yourself and see how they work for you.
It’s because Tatum only plays on his forefoot which thus shoe is designed for. They made the heel out of rubber do minimize weight since he doesn’t really care about the heel. He himself said that he wants all the performance in the forefoot.

Agreed! I think they should be more forefoot focused on the PE version to match Tatum's preferences. However, the majority of regular people/consumers need some solid grip on the heel.
NBA courts are pristine. Cleaned regularly and perfect. Typically, normal people like us don't have access to amazing courts like that.
I got these after hunting them down (was hard to find them in my area)
I'm a narrow foot with an arch so they absolutely nail it. The one problem I have is during my first real extended use of them, the mid foot did begin to strain but just on my right foot so I don't know if need to break them in more.
Either way they are visually striking and I love just looking at them. Might turn out to be a once in a while wear.
Same with me but only on the left foot.. how’s yours doin now?
@@mcc3152 they are definitely better with a bit more breaking in, it only took 2-3 proper wears where I had them on for a few hours at a time.

The moment I saw pictures of this, I have doubts. With your thorough review and awaiting Allen's final performance comments. I do not see this ending on a positive note. Right now it is almost a 100% no for me.
