Folger's Coffee "Peter Comes Home For Christmas" Full Length

- Full length version of Folger's extremely long-running "Peter Comes Home For Christmas" commercial.
The little girl is probably a grandmother by now!!! Okay, probably not, but she did grow up to be a VERY nice lady!
The actors in the ad are as follows:
Greg Wrangler (Peter, better known as PEETER!!!)
Susan Honey (Older Sister and inspiration to Joey Tribbiani)
Kenneth Corey (Father)
Colleen Hughes (Younger Sister or the little girl who, led by her older brother, develops a coffee sniffing habit at an early age)
Kate Weiman (Mother)
Thanks alot. Merry Christmas! - Zábava
What a wholesome commercial. I hope nobody tries to update it thirty years later and introduce weird incestuous undertones.
The Mom had a 30 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. Good for her
Peter was her brother-father. Double incest!
Yeah, this version makes a lot more sense than the creepy new one.
You're my present this year
That 2009 one just exemplifies how out of touch people in the industry are these days. This commercial tugs at the heart strings in so many ways and tells a story that's not all that complicated. Peter, wearing what appears to be a college jacket, is able to come home after all. Mom smells the coffee and comes down and gets a warm surprise. How can the 2009 people not see how to do a "home for Christmas" commercial.
@@Mraarongajus yeah, go away
@@ZombieFighter95See it got your attention. You must be doing that yourself with your sister 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@Mraarongajus It got my attention because it was really stupid and made no sense.
My mom and I used to have a "contest" to see who got to see the commercial first. Since she has passed away it gives me the feeling of her when I need it most. I have been watching this commercial most of my life and it still makes me cry!
Hope you’re doing okay ❤
Such a wholesome and heartwarming commercial. We need more of this in our lives.
Yeah it definitely wouldn't inspire a incesty vibe Folgers commercial decades later that's for sure
But they should age up the actress. That would not create any different vibes.
I don't care how old this commercial is. I still turn into a puddle when Peter's mother sees that he's home. The greatest Christmas gift will always be family.
Pretty sure this commercial subconsciously caused me to name one of my kids Peter.
It wasn't Christmas until I saw this every year! :) memories.
Exactly, Amanda.
Amanda Warren So true
100% I agree here
I watch it every Christmas. It one of my favorite Christmas commercials.
Your so right, these were better times !! They should bring this commercial back during Christmas !!
Now with 60% more heartwarming and 90% less incestuous undertones. XP
I had to come back here to cleanse myself after watching the newer one.
Haha 😄
Where's the original that gave off the incest vibes?
We swapped out the incestuous undertones with the question of whether Peter is the little girl's brother or secretly her father, adopted by his parents
This classic Christmas Folgers commercial with Peter has become the longest running commercial in advertising history spanning from 1985 to 1998. No controversies here.
I did not know it first came out in the 80's! I remember first seeing it in the early 90's.
It can't be the longest-running commercial in history; there's a bunch that are older than it that are still running now, like the Tootsie Pop commercial with the kid and Mr. Owl.
The M&Ms "They do exist!" Christmas commercial with Red and Yellow meeting Santa has also surpassed it in the number of years active, since that's 26+ (1996 to present)
Yeah it is ...now is that Peter's little sis?....and that can't be Peter's parents young child???...
Check out the Victory Auto Wreckers commercial from Chicago. One version of that or another has been around for 20 some years.
@@personaking7844 of course it can
This takes me back to my childhood in the 80s, my fave Christmas comercial ever. I was sad they stopped running it years back because it played well into the 90s.
Yes it is a classic. I was born in 1978 and remember when it first aired around 1986 and they ran it it for nearly 20 years. They still air the one with the jingle bell Hershey kisses, but this one is no longer aired. I guess they feel it looks dated now. They should do an update where Peter has kids of his own and they come home for the holidays waking him and his wife up with Folgers.
@@hoagie1978Hey yea! ! Ofcourse why not!
Mine too
@@hoagie1978And they should definitely do it with this Peter, because we all know the other Peter's wife still has to graduate.
Yes, and do you remember the Kleenex commercial with the cat and young girl? 🥲
to me it is not Christmas with out this ad. I don't even drink Folger's coffee.
I feel you on that - I love this commercial!
Oh My God, this is my favorite commercial of all time. I can't even explain it. There is no other commercial from my childhood, or entire life for that matter, that I can recall with such clarity and emotion. There's just something about it. It makes me cry.
Greatest Commercial Ever.
SAME.
Mine to unlike honey nut cheerios scrooge one too
MINE TOO!!!❤🔥🥲
I remembered it just this morning after a terrible nightmare. I said the same thing.
I feel like I'm a little kid again back in the 80's. Even though I was only 10, it made me want to drink coffee.
Significantly less incest subtext than the newer commercial...
BLACKIESBOY I know, right? Boo this commercial!
This commercial is so much better than Folger's coffee ever was. Truly heartwarming though.
And then they ruined it completely!
@@pennysanchez7656 "and the best part of waking up, is your brother in your guts!"
These Christmas Commercials bring back so many memories.
The best commercial - EVER!!! I used to wait for it every Thanksgiving morning while making breakfast for my family. It kicked off the holiday season for me, not to mention made me smile on those holidays that I couldn't make it back home myself. It was always comforting somehow to know that if I couldn't make it home, that Peter could.
It's nice to hear they are updating it but I hope they will run it with the classic, too.
May Peter always make it home for the holidays! ♥
Oh how poorly this aged 😭
You made this comment 14 years ago... Here's to hoping you haven't seen that abomination of an update they made.
Ahh, simpler times. They sure don't make commercials like this anymore. Warm and fuzzy feelings.
They recreated this in 2009 and it's...lol
With 80% less incest!
They tried to make it a second time.
It didn't pan out well
I always get teary eyed when Peter's mom steps off the stairs and sees Peter standing there.
"Oh, you're home!" STILL gets me. (I was 5 then. I am 43 now.)
I first saw this during the 1984 Holiday Season! It showed annually into the ‘90s!
I love this commercial. I always wanted a brother and this resonated with me. I always had a fantasy that I had a brother out there who would come home for me.
Damn that's deep...
Damn man ....
And may we know what will you do with your brother after that huh?????
@@Bax365 Not sure if you're joking or serious.
@@andrewbangs9073 Is your mind in the gutter?
I absolutely love this commercial, i'm not in the Holiday spirit until seeing it.
I always love when they play this commercial, it takes me back to being a happy kid
And I love the red and green coffee cans! ❤☕💚
Much better than the 2009 version. This one's actually heartwarming in a sense.
They need to bring this back during Christmas, just like they did with the M&Ms see Santa commercial and the Hershey kisses Christmas bells commercial.. ❤
This was--and still is--one of my favorites!
My favorite commercial of all time! Always makes me want a cup of coffee right after watching.
one of the best commercials ever
Omg! I remember seeing this commercial on tv when I was a kid. Idk why but it was always 1 of my favorites. Btw, I love the description (Younger sister or little girl, who led by her older brother, develops a coffee sniffing habit at a early age) Lol.
My favorite Christmas commercial ever. To me, the Christmas season didn't start until 'Peter' came home!
Its not Christmas till Peter comes home!
Best Christmas commercial EVER! ❤❤❤
All these decades and i`ll never forget this.
I never forgot this commercial love it.
I love this commercial and the accompanying instrumentals.
This commercial always leaves me choked up. I remember seeing this every year. I think I even saw it played a year or two ago too - I was happy to see they stuck with a classic.
Its the holidays once again and I always remember this commercial around this time of the year from when I was a kid. I'm in my 40's now. The 80's, an innocent time, best decade to be a kid.
Just thought about this commercial after seeing the 2018 one. Glad it's on CZcams.
1982 was the date of this commercial. This by far as has been my favorite Christmas Commercial. My first child came home from college today for Christmas Break, and I played him this video. Thank you. I always wanted to do this when my first one came back after his first semester. But somehow, "Peter's commercial was more touching". For one, I live in South Texas - so no snow. And my son goes to school 90 miles away. Oh well, almost same feeling.
This is one of my favorite commercials!!!
I don't know what it is about this commercial, but ever since I was a kid I always loved this commercial. Maybe because my brother was in college at this time in Ohio and it made me think of him when he would be coming home on break.
Good times early 90's along with the Christmas specials like Garfield Christmas and a muppet family Christmas
Thank you for this, I remember seeing this commercial when I was younger and Peter always reminded me of my brothers coming home from college.
This has got to be my very favorite commercial of all time--it was even when I was a kid! I really identified with the little girl, since the age difference is about the same as these two, and he was in the Navy. I felt the same way she did when my brother came home, regardless of the season! Mike would have done the same thing, and it would have woken my folks up too! Thank you so much for posting this--it always gives me a lift!
Thanks for uploading! I still remember this commercial- love it
Great commercial, I love the old 80's commercials.
This commercial is absolutely unforgettable. I looked forward to seeing it every year when I was living at home with my family . It really kicked off the Holiday season. Thank you UTube❤
I always loved this commercial & looked forward to it every year!
i love this commercial so much
One of the best holiday commercials! Would love it if they could reunite in some way.
Just bought my annual Folgers for the holidays! Wishing you all the best!
This is my all time favorite Christmas commercial. Thank you for posting it. I remember looking forward to seeing this commercial every Christmas as a child. I have not seen it on in years. You have made this day a whole lot brighter!!
This is probably the greatest Christmas commercial ever. They played this for years
Just watched a video of 80s Christmas commercials and was hoping to see this one but it wasn’t shown. Thanks for the upload!
I always loved this commercial, and miss it. Thanks so much for posting it!
I grew up to this comercial in the 80s and always wanted to be Peter. I've been in the Army for 20yrs now and have done this a couple of times since.❤
(Dec. 2019) I STILL get emotional over this ad
That's why I'm here! This, the&Ms commercial, the fruity pebbles commercial and the Hershey kisses commercial! Have to see them all every year!
Of all the hundreds of thousands of commercials I’ve seen year round, THIS one has always been my FAVORITE. I just never get tired of seeing a young adult, I would estimate, thirteen or fourteen years firstborn, comes home presumably from college on Christmas morning to his little overjoyed sister jumping into his arms almost as soon as he’s in the door, and instead of just sitting down and wait for the rest to get up, or pound on their doors, he heats up a Christmas present you can’t just buy.💝💝💝 I remember first seeing this when I was five or six, I cannot believe it’s older. But I guess the picture quality and the decorum would suggest an 80s vibe.
Thank you for putting this one online! I mentioned it and all people could remember was the /other/ one.
My favorite Christmas commercial...I want a time machine to take me back to the 80s!
This is my favorite commercial ever. Whoever came up with this is a genius. Gives me chills every time
Ahh...now THIS meant Christmas was coming when I was a kid! Classic...thanks for the memories!
Yep, this one was one of my favorites as a young kid...brings back alot of memories...thanks.
I love this commercial. It's one of my all-time favorites.
I remember this one. Been looking for it for years!
Why can’t they bring this one back for Christmas ?❤
Every year on Christmas morning I watch this video it was one of my mother's favorite videos she passed away in 2008 every year since I watch this video
what makes the commercial is the actress who plays the mom, when she sees him for the first time her reaction is very believable and heart felt. Nice casting.
I've used this video and references to this video so many times on Facebook for a laugh that it's unreal. So heartfelt. So touching. It almost makes me damp eyed to see that glimmer of love and completion to her little heart in his mother's eyes.. sort of.
This commercial I have probaly seen a thousand times during christmas. Its a shame they stopped playing after its been so long.
That was a really good commercial. Nobody makes commercial like these anymore.
I just love this commercial it reminds me of the love my older brother and I had when I was a little girl.
This is the one commercial I could watch all year long, for decades. They just don't make them like this anymore.
This is hands down the best commercial ever made.
I really love this commercial because they’ve been playing this commercial for the past five years from the late 80s up until the early 90s because I remember the scene when a young man had just came home and wanted to have a fresh cuppa coffee during that snow day because I remember seeing a five year old girl in this ad many years ago and then somewhere in the early 90s, I remember seeing that girl as a teenager and a Hawaiian punch, fruit drink, commercial or as I think.
This is much better than that incestuous newer commercial.
I wish this commercial was the one they still played instead of the new one! It was one I always looked for around this time of year!
This commercial is actually very heartwarming. Especially when his mom comes down to hug him, the transitioning of the music made it feel like an 80’s Christmas family movie. Better than the newer one they have where the tension between the sister and brother is pretty obvious lol.
I remember this as a teenager in the late 70s...and Peter has amazing dimples!
I love this coffee commercial I use to watch it many years ago.
I remember this commercial from the early to mid 80s. Man the nostalgia
Awe it’s that time of year again where we all look at the old Christmas commercials that were actually good.
Peter's looking good for having done eighteen months in jail.
That was my exact thought! "Peter's parole officer got him early release! He'll be on the registry for life, though."
No, He was in College.
fun police, cant let us do anything in the hood
nycsongs lmao
@@soul71000 Yeah...College!! That's what his parents told the neighbors.
Still my favorite classic Christmas commercial.
I like the brief glimpse of the snow-covered VW Beetle slowly pulling away from the house at the start of the advertisement!
One of the best Christmas commercials EVER!
I love the banned commercial they did where Peter's dad gets a flashback to Vietnam, runs down the stairs with his sidearm, and blows Peter away. Then he runs up stairs yelling to his wife that "Charlie is down! Charlie is down!" End scene.
Really?
+boofdfast Yes. It was banned because they were afraid vets who served in Vietnam would start blowing away their kids who snuck home from college on Christmas Day.
I always loves this ad. I always waited to hear this ad in the mornings before I would get of bed to get ready for school. I likes the Folgers jingle in all the ads.
10% content and 90% emotion.. this ad has become the study material for many Visual Communication students around the globe. This ad reflects how strong a message could be delivered through visual medium.
I was probably 6 years old when the commercial first aired, and there isn't another commercial from my childhood that I remember better than this one. Thx for posting.
Had to watch this one today merry Christmas and happy holidays
I remember this commercial when I was little watching it with my mom. I asked her if I can drink coffee she said only when you become an adult. Now I can't stop drinking coffee. Love this commercial though 💖
Every Christmas I look for this commercial. It reminds me when I was a kid seeing it. Just doesn't feel like Christmas without it
How does this classic not have more views
I have always loved this Christmas commercial--been watching is since I was a little kid. It never really seemed like Christmas until I saw it! :) Thanks for posting it! :)
Peter was on Winter break from the University. He is a physician now.
Watching this commercial brings me back to when i was 10. One of the best commercials ever made. Miss those days. Thanks for posting!!!!
Ahhh, the 1980s. I wish we could return. 😪 Our country was a much better place back then.
Correct! Greg's been in a ton of stuff since, but nothing really that sticks out in the mind like this beloved classic.
My cups empty, time to get another cup of coffee!
I remember this one. I like it much better than the new.
