    Notes: www.registerednursern.com/gla...
Glaucoma is a set of eye disorders caused by increased intraocular pressure (IOP), which damages the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss (blindness).
Treatment of glaucoma includes surgery, such as selective laser trabeculoplasty, or a trabeculectomy.
Angle-closure glaucoma (also called narrow-angle or closed-angle glaucoma) can be treated with medications and a laser iridotomy or iridectomy.
Medications include alpha agonists, beta blockers, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, cholinergics, prostaglandin analogs, and rho kinase inhibitors.
This video also discusses eye drop administration, punctal occlusion, and post-op glaucoma surgery patient education.

2 years ago when I was 17 I had glaucoma, I don't know why I have this disease, even though I don't have a lineage from people who have glaucoma and a list of other causes of glaucoma, after I experienced glaucoma my life has changed, I can't accept why I have this disease even though I'm still young, it's been more than 2 years for me to accept my disease, and after walking for 2 years, I feel lately my eyes don't look as wide as before, next month I will check my visual field, please pray for me, so that my eyes still have a normal field of view :)

Hello sarah, I just want to thank you for you have helped me to get through my student nurse journey. I graduated as a Cum Laude! I always watched your videos way back then. I always believe that you are a God-given angel to us, aspiring nurses! I thank God because of you. Now that I'm gonna be taking my Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination, I'm still here watching your videos and refreshing my memories. Hoping and praying that I'm gonna be one of the passers and Topnotchers this November 2022, by God's grace. Thank you again Sarah. More power and God bless you and your beautiful family.

I already have to deal with this disease everyday. I've had glaucoma since I was nine and I've been on eye drops for 17 years. So far at the age of 27 I've been managing glaucoma successfully and seeing my glaucoma specialist every 4 months and getting tests to monitor the progression of glaucoma. This disease is a life sentence for me.

What an excellent video. I'm almost 68 & had a 5-2021 eye exam, which discovered quite high pressure at 29ish. We tried a couple of drops, & ended up with Lumigan, which seemed to bring the pressure down to about 21. Unfortunately, I had an appointment 11/2021, & the pressure went back up even with Lumigan to, 25/ 24, & the Doctor said it's moved to a glaucoma. Some say exercise can help, & there were a number of things that seemed to trash out the exercise I was getting. At any rate, I feel somewhat positive, that we've apparently caught this thing in early stages. She has now prescribed Dorzolamide HCI and Timolol, (one drop) so I'm taking that in the morning, & evening, & before bed I still take the Lumigan, a total of 3 times. Again I thought the presentation was just wonderful, & I'm going to try to find the drop application full video mentioned. I saw a handheld tonometer that allows you to check your own pressure, & was wondering how advantageous something like that would be. I've maxed my deductible this year, so insurance may kick in for a portion of the cost. Thanks for the great video!
