4. 5up:
What almost all great Among Us players have in common are great observational skills and memory. And you wouldn’t be very wrong if you called 5up one of the absolute best at this. Unlike the first 2 names on the list, 5up isn’t a unique behemoth with out of the book plays. Instead, he’s rather like the author of the whole book. His reads are insane and as a crewmate, his logic game is so impeccable that he can sniff an Imposter from a mile away. 5up always asks the right questions and as a Crewmate, the info his questions bring out is of great use. His Imposter game is a little weak and so, he’s 4th on the list. We say this because although he makes some awesome plays as an Imposter, quite often he gets sussed right off the bat. And as a result, consistency suffers.
3. Trainwrecks:
You have your average Joes in Among Us who play by the book and then you have Trainwrecks. The man is a genius at lying and making up stories of things that never happened. He can shift blame through logic, curb aggressive emotion through calm refusal and reduce an entire lobby into chaos when he’s an Imposter. Train’s Crewmate gameplay is also equally on point, but he probably a slightly better Imposter than a Crewmate.
2. Corpse Husband:
You had to have guessed this one as well! You must’ve not seen enough of his Among Us gameplay if you didn’t. Anyway, Corpse is pretty much on the same level as Toast with his Imposter plays. In fact, you might even say that his incredibly calm and heavy voice gives him a slight edge over Toast on the emotion score. He’s a better manipulator of a lobby. At the same time, his Crewmate game is probably just behind that of Toast and so he’s sitting pretty on 2nd. Oh and of course, before we move on, another great guy with a spot on sportsmanship spirit.
1. Disguised Toast:
You’ve probably heard it a million times already. And the reason you have heard it is because it is true. Disguised Toast aka Jeremy Wang is one of the best Among Us players out there. His logic game is on point. From memorising colours and counting the seconds to catching fakers, the man is a beast. There’s a reason why Imposters always try to kill him first. It’d be pretty difficult for them to clutch a game with Toast alive! Toast’s emotional score is very high as well due to how well placed his reactions are.
Usually, you’ll find him very calm, quiet and composed most of the time. However, every once in awhile, he’ll pretend to raise his voice or seriously freak out to great effect. And half the time the lobby doesn’t even know if Toast’s reactions are real or fake. Finally, sportsmanship - Toast is one of the best mates out there to play with. Not a sulky loser, never a downer and not one to deploy shady lobby control tactics, Toast is a man who minds his own business. And it’s a pretty great one!

Till this day, Tina’s smoke detector is chirping for a new battery even though she has moved since! I like how she says, she already pushed the little button which is just to test the loud chirping so you know the little sound device isn’t broken. Install a new battery Tina!!!

I had this tell too, only paying attention to the game when I'm imp, so had to learn how to sound bored on purpose :D
It absolutely is, but as far as I know back in these days it was just what 5up did. There’s even an old clip of DumbDog hunting 5up down *because* of this tell. Everyone knew it.
I honestly believe if you have a tell this big, you can’t avoid being metagamed. Even if nobody addresses it, everyone’s thinking it. And that’s impossible to avoid.
@@eddiemate for sure! though i do like that sometimes hafu specifically tried to get killed because she knew who it was simply because she knows everyone so well. toast does something similar as well, but hafu specifically asking to be voted because she knew stuck with me
and another time she asked to be voted bc she was host and the body appeared on the map and so she figured out the killers, that was good of her too. at some point, though, when you’re that good at reading people, you can’t really play the game at all, because you’ll know every round (and i imagine that and never getting impostor rounds had a lot to do with her leaving among us-getting boring, always getting killed as crew, and terrible impostor RNG)
a lot of the time, you might not even realize WHY you sus someone or can clear them, but just have a gut feeling that is subconsciously based off of metagaming/experience, and that can kinda throw it

Yeah, even back when she retired I understood why. When you know the group enough that you can solve it on instinct alone, as well as being unable to truly play the game… it makes sense it’d get boring without a huge shift in gameplay.
That's why I think the whole "meta-gaming" I'd off limits is dumb. When someone's tell is black and white obvious should you just ignore it? No! That person should change how they play.
And on that note, if it's a gameplay thing like the "storage kills" it's so easy for you to just not do that kill- and even better, an imposter could use it to frame you if you do it too much. Things like that are why meta gaming is fun. The whole game is an act and you have to play your role to a tee to win
Oof, these old clips are going to be hard to watch if it’s going to be a bunch of Toast not doing his tasks. At final four nearly every task left was his, meaning he almost single handedly took a task win off the table. It’s really possible to be a good detective and still do your tasks.

watching toast try to figure out who fixed lights and then from steve’s pov realizing it was “speedmaster” dumbdog (because ofc it was) was honestly amazing
edit: specifically because from toast’s pov it felt like they could’ve vented from o2 after opening the top door or something, but no, dumbdog’s just That Fast

Poor DumbDog was getting killed first round a lot around the time of these videos. To the point that if he wasn’t dead for the first meeting he was immediately sussed as Impostor.

1.5up - Really bold and Smart plays, an innovater, if he even tries to play detective there is just no chance for the imposters, accuses very well etc etc
2. Hafu/DumbDog
I cant decide between these two, they are both very smart and hold their ground when getting accused. Dd is literally the only one that plays meta-ing the meta. Hafu is just an overall efficient machine
3. Steve
Steve currently uses only 25% of his brain power and is still so good, imagine if he used 100% of it.
4.Maybe Toast
I guess he is ok at imposter, not so great at crew at all.
5. Janet/Wolf
They kill it in their roles like 90% of the time.
The rest, I dont think corpse is anywhere near this list, Also I havent seen Yeti play at all, but hafu praises him so he is probably very good as well. The rest from Toast's, Chilled's, Jelly's lobbies just arent as good as these players
dang, that sucks. in the last round before the vote, aipha went from completely clearing sips in the beginning of the round to wanting to vote him with no info & randomly changing the vote in the last ~5 seconds lmfao
He meant Sips from the beginning (UPS driver = brown bean with that hat). He mentions Janet because he's clearing her, asking Toast if he agrees that she would have killed at a certain location and that it was crew of her to button. And he's mentally cleared Toast cause he got Tina out. So it was a fair sus, though Sips played a good game.
The huge thumbnail overlays for other vids really ruined this one. Leave them to the end and make them tiny. They took up 2 3rds of the screen on my iPad.

"Why 5up's Impostor Game is Weak" i disagree. i think that 5up as impostor is more engaged in the game than as a crewmate because after that much time that he played among us he knows, that impostor games are the ones that do well as yt content, but all of his plays (especially imposter ones) are very good, so he is just more chill as a crewmate - if he tryharded so much on all it would make the game less fun for everyone else in my opinion :)
In my opinion 5up, Hafu, Wolfabelle, DumbDog, Corpse, Valkyrae, Pokimane, Smajor, Chilled, Kara Corvus, Ash on LoL, Dream and OzzaWorld are some of the best players.
Toast, Steve, DK and Train are also really good, but I feel they do get a bit rude/a bit toxic/slightly arrogant/quite loud every now and then (which doesn’t make them worse in my opinion BTW!) which docks a few points for me

Steve throws a lot, never saw him be rude, just acting like a silly little boy. Hafu, Wolfabelle, DD, Pokimane, Train are some of the loudest players I've seen in these 2 lobbies, and get salty often, especially when thrown out as imposters. Not gonna say they are bad players, they are just not my cup of tea perspective wise.
That ultimately depends on what your perception of “best” is. When it comes to logical deduction, Toast and Train are unmatched by the majority of streamers and are as good as Hafu/5up (Train is a tournament winner after all).
Also I don’t know why you perceive Toast to have one trait of the list you’ve mentioned, i find him to be the opposite, extremely relaxed plus he prioritises giving people content. I assume you don’t get along with his humor very well because he’s certainly a very down to earth person based on his maturity when he talks seriously (look at his streams/podcasts - I’ll link a few if necessary). The rest of your comment, i mostly agree with.
