Thanks for a very good nostalgia video. Was brought up in Sheringham. From about 1943 when I was 5.
Was a youth in training at post office telephones in Cromer.
Now live in Victoria Canada.
I look at the faces but don’t recognise anybody and or what’s happened to Sheringham over the years.
Glad you enjoyed, I’ve several videos on North Norfolk, on my CZcams channel. Thanks for watching
It's an amazing weekend. Well Done Sheringham and the Poppy Line Steam Railway!
Yes it was , thanks for watching
Excuse my ignorance, but I had never read or seen documentaries relating to the landings of American troops in the United Kingdom. Here in Italy the landings that took place in Sicily, in Anzio (Lazio) and, of course, the well-known landing in Normandy are known. So I kindly ask when and how the Americans came to the UK. Thank you very much for your availability and collaboration. Anyway, great video!
Interesting point you’ve made there…
Americans, as UK allies, were actually based in the UK as a European operations centre, with Normandy landings sailing from the UK to France - similarly, there were many US air bases in the UK, as aircraft would not have been capable of flying directly from the US to bomb targets in Europe.
I hope this helps?
@@modelrailpaulceeYes, many thanks!
