Growing up in Pittsburgh, I saw a lot of Roberto Clemente's arm in old Forbes Field. I've seen him throw out runners at 1st, 2nd and 3rd. . . back in the day, only fools ran on Clemente.
@@joespitler3929 I have to agree that he was just a notch below, but only a small notch when it came to talent. Clemente coudl carry the entire team on his shoulders.
when i was younger and played baseball, i was a pitcher and also center field because i was the only one who could throw from there to home plate if needed. i tried out one time for a softball team at center field and i threw the ball past the screening at home plate and everyone just looked like what the hell just happened, didnt make the team but had fun trying.
Yep, not to mention Rick Ankiel. Tell ya what though, after 60+ years on the planet, I've never seen a stronger arm than Dave Parker. That dude was huge and the ball came off his hand like a cannon shot.
What, not a single Mike Schmidt throw. He patented the bare handed catch and underhanded out at first. Golden Glove's are awarded for finishing the play, not keeping it from reaching the outfield
Cannons? n the beginning of the video Harper was almost at 2nd base and threw a oe hopper to the plate. Not a cannon. How about throws by Evans from Boston or Ellis Valentine . They had cannons. Too many one hoppers from the outfield.
@@tonyru303 with the Bryce Harper throw yes I can understand criticism of the one hop throw while being so close to the catcher, but I was more referring to your statement about too many one hoppers in the outfield, which in most scenarios a one hopper to catcher from the outfield is ideal with a few exceptions.
I played a lot of cricket and had an ok arm, but what these guys can do is a whole other thing 😀
Same. You realise how little effort cricket players actually out into fielding when you see how baseball players train for it as well
What could be more humiliating than stroking out a single to right field only to be gunned down at first.
@dakodafisher2034 that's an all timer lol. I can't imagine that ever happens again.
Great job on this video. I love that there are calls from 2 sides.
Excellent edits with the multi-calls

I remember The Great One as well
How about the Cobra? Dave Parker was a beast as well.
@@rickduncan362 Clemente was in a class by himself, but the Cobra was just a notch below.

@@rickduncan362 Cobra is 1 of the most underrated players. A hall of famer if you ask me. Had a 6-7 year stretch of dominance.
The White Sox had an out fielder named Mike Hershberger. I was at a game where he made a throw from center field and the crowd actually gasped.
i love how you show the broadcast vid and then the video where you get to see the flight of the entire ball to see how strong the throw is
Wow just Wow ⚾️
Shoutout to the catchers for catching missiles and making good tags
Another great video. Thank you!
Well done 👏

3:44 is amazing, not only cuz of the throw, but it's such a good call by the announcer
Machado 🔥💯
Gomez’s throw was clocked at 103? Hicks at 102? Dangggggg. Don’t creep on Froe, he has a cannon.
Ellis Valentine had a cannon in right filed. He finished with 28 outfield assist in 1978.
Roberto celemete the greatest right field. of all-time tie with willie ways for most gold gloves as of with 12
buxton play, about 4:10 in, cron at first base knows he's got the runner, just calmly gets the ball, steps on the bag, walks away like a boss.
You've got a video about riflemen and you don't have Andre Dawson or Vladdy? I sure hope part 2 is in the works.
look at the title... It IS part 2!
Yeah or Bo Jackson either

@@moparedtn Right on about Parker. He was the king at 9 to 3 put-outs stealing singles.
No Acuna Jr either lol
Best arms I ever seen Jesse barfield and Glenn Wilson aka GlennBo! ⚾️🔔
Best arms I've seen Guillen and Vladimir Guerrero
Puig
Wheres the link to Volume 1?? And I hope Dave Winfield was in it!
Wow
i'm going to say this goining in, if Larry walker isn't on this one you're high
Nothing better than a 9-5 put out. Runner doesn't even see it coming until he's out.
before replay must have been maddening to throw someone out by an inch and get a safe call
Defense. The biggest reason I watch Major League Baseball

So where is the rookie of the year michael harris that's the man
wooooooow
Barfield! He doubled up 8 runners in one season. Has anyone done that since? He's also got 3 seasons totaling 20 assists or more.
hey, where is Ichiro?
He took up all of volume 1.
and shinjo
Roberto Clemente
Vladimir Guerrero with the Angels from right field warning track to 3rd base blew all these away!!
Dwight Evans!!!
Total clickbait. This is Gen z baseball
So many greater arms left off this list. Dewey Evans, Red Sox, MICKEY and Willie? Are you kidding? Roberto Clemente? Rocky Colavito Detroit?
Ichiro, Ankiel, Vladdy?
Deja tú la fuerza. La puntería
One word, Vladdy
Hmm, Bo Jackson, Paul O'Neil, Vllad G.
Ichiro Suzuki
How about YAZ in Boston????
No Bo Jackson or Al Kaline or Roberto Clemente. These are all new guys who are very good but really?
It always astonishes me just how many directors and camera guys can’t properly film a throw to the plate. It’s embarrassing.
No Clemente?! SMH. 🤦🏼♂️
Ichiro is missing.
No Clemente? Really?
Jessie Barfield?
Greatest throws from right field that I have ever seen.
Greatest arms in "HISTORY"? Not. Some good plays but come on.

What? No Dwight Evans? Are you nuts???
These are just outs..... not cannon throws

Too many one hoppers from the outfield? That’s the idea, that’s what you want to do if you’re an outfielder throwing to the catcher.
@@bigblue2228 That's not the idea. He was not far behind 2nd base and a cannon arm could easily reach on a fly.

Where is Bo Jackson??
Not complete without Ankiel
I have seen much better.
