- This is our Christmas review of the Bucklesham enamel, we test the stoves real world performance in:
Clean glass
Fuel economy
Ease of lighting
And controlling
Amy also gives my views and a bit of background information. The videos are designed to be quick with only the "must know" information, they are independent and I'm not paid to make them.
If you would like any further information please feel free to drop me a comment or you check out the manufacturers page here:

Merry xmas everyone. I love your wife being on here at xmas time aswell , outfit is very seasonal I like glittery this time of year. I tried to buy some in your top five but delivery wasnt till april i managed to find a Dik Geurts with everything else i needed supplied locally and delivered the same day,the iver 5 which is amazing plus the multistove add on. I have to thank you for everything you wonderful people. I did mention you in buying. Many thanks
Thanks a lot Nigel, hope you’re enjoying it, it’s a lovely bit of kit!
Happy Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you two too. Love the fun video and can't help but notice the poor video camera work on this one. Someone clearly knows how to point the camera and keep it steady. Not on this one though.
Best wishes, peace on earth and all that. And keep toasty
Amy will be so happy to see this, me getting roasted for camera incompetence
Looks like a nice stove for a non living room type environment
Only thing is i don't fancy wearing a fire resistant silver dress to operate it.....
Keep up the channel and the informative comment
PS do you chaos use the compressed sawdust bricks come in 8 bricks in a 19kg oack
We used to use them a lot
But in the last yr.
They burnt very hot & long
Were easy to store and clean to transport in the boot of a car
There was very little ash with them.
We stopped using them as there price went from approx 2 EUR a pack to at present around 7 EUR.
Yes the cost of some of those fuels has skyrocketed. I don’t tend to use them myself, but I have in the past.
Thanks for the message.
Aye they skyrocketed about march of last yr. Therefore suspected they were imported from Belarus or Russian
Partly correct. Somewhere i read or saw that there were produced in prison colonies out east.
Our of principal we stopped buying them.
Here in BE you can get a permit from the town yo go into their woods and take fallen trees (for private usage)
But by you've lengthed them, hauled them cut them, split them & stacked them - it's not worth it
That's all assuming you have the time n space for it.
Love it! Good controlability, but don't chip that enamel, Merry Christmas.
I am going to do a repair video soon, the enamel already has a chip (which is in part deliberate, for the video).
I won't lie the enamel looks really really nice. Was the chip sustained during shipping? If so that's something that they can improve. Also some of the videography you get when opening and closing the vents is phenomenal. I think if you wish Mrs Tortoise to do more videos, which she should, then you need to let her fly on her own a bit more. Less script and more, her ;)
I’ll let her know, she’s very pro a script at the moment, but that’s probably just nerves. She’ll get there.
With regard to the chip, they had one that already had a chip and I asked for it, because I wanted to do a specific video about enamels.
👍
Good video, but there is no air wash in this stove and it is "designed" in the U.K and made in the E.U, £1600 plus to buy.
I have noticed that when things say "designed" in the U.K it usually means made in another country
I’m not sure where you’ve got this from but you are mistaken. I did double check where manufacturing is done and I’m told it is the UK. It also has an air wash system and appears to be on line for far less than £1600.
It’s also enamelled in the UK too.
@@TheTortoise "Stove store" says made in Europe and "Direct stoves" says no air wash system
@@macraghnaill3553 it’s definitely a mistake. I’ve got the stove in front of me right now and I can see the air wash system. I also checked with Pevex and I believe the my were made in Europe but have been uk made for some time now.
