I turn on the halo even in the daytime for better visibility. 30min to 1-hour rides about 3-4 times a week, and when I charge it, I still have 2 out of 5 lights on the battery pack. Will it be safe to ride in the rain? With that external battery mounted on the bike?
If you tried it would have to be covered to avoid water damage. Maybe a waterproof bag where only the cord slips in/out.
