I got sick one time as a kid and my parents took me to the doctor, and I was diagnosed with “cat scratch disease”. Mom is all serious like oh no what do we do and dad just blasted this song and cackled and sang the entire way home. I will never hear this and not think of him.

My dad is suffering from cancer, and he may not have enough money to pay the bills (usually the hospital bills whenever you have cancer can easily go over $1,000,000) so he did a fundraiser online trying to get money. I guess Ted Nugent saw this fundraiser and figured out where my dad worked at (he works at a convenient store). Now me, or my parents, never knew that Ted Nugent lived in somewhere near (or in) China Springs, Texas! That tripped me out when I heard that!
My dad told me that Ted gave him one of his old guitars with his autograph on it so he can sell it and make some money off of that, and that Ted would help him!
Ted, if you are reading this, you have a good heart! You have brought joy to me and my parents! Keep rock n' rollin!

I was not a fan of Ted Nugent in the 70s or 80s, but I have since come to love him and his music. The man is a TRUE RED, WHITE, and BLUE American patriot who loves his country and is doing all he can to save our republic.

Keep in mind everybody that Ted Nugent is probably the most famous piece of propaganda that the Republican party has, makes responsible gun owners look like gun toting hillbillies, makes underwhelming music, and that he's on public record calling president Obama a subhuman mongrel; Interesting choice of words for the only black president in American history.
You can call that being a "true American patriot", but the rest of us valuable members of society will continue to know the true meaning of patriotism when it comes to the USA.

It is early in the morning and in the Sporting Goods department I see a tall, athletic looking white guy in hunting camo. He looks like Ted Nugent and I would have gone up to him and said, "Has anyone ever told you, that you look like Ted Nugent?" But I brain locked and could not think of the name so I went on. That evening, they are interviewing Ted Nugent on the news because he was in town at the Hunting and Fishing Expo, plugging his hunting videos. To this day, I wonder what Ted Nugent would have said if I went up to him and said he looked like Ted Nugent. haha

I was a huge Ted Nugent fan in the 1970's. I bought his first 4 albums and all 4 of those albums were awesome, multi-platinum selling albums that made Ted Nugent a top draw at 1978's infamous California Jam II. Although he recorded and toured as "Ted Nugent", Ted Nugent was just one member of an amazing 4-piece rock band, The Ted Nugent Band, that was up there with Kiss and Aerosmith as hard rock's premiere live acts in the late 70's. Consisting of Ted on lead guitar, lead vocalist/guitarist Derek St Holmes, bass guitarist extraordinaire Rob Grange, and drummer Cliff Davies, the Ted Nugent Band was one helluva band that wrote some amazing songs despite the fact that Nugent refused to properly share the songwriting credits with his other bandmates.
Unlike Kiss and Aerosmith whose first few albums had lackluster sales, The Ted Nugent Band hit the ground running. The band's very first album went double platinum (2 million copies sold). Their 2nd album, which featured a guest vocalist by the name of Meatloaf (who split the lead vocals with St Holmes), also went double platinum. Their 3rd album, 1977's Cat Scratch Fever, was even a bigger success reaching triple platinum status (3 million copies sold). It appeared like it was onward and upward for The Ted Nugent Band as his 4th album, 1978's Double Live Gonzo, also went triple platinum. However, all this success didn't sit well with Ted, a man whose big, swollen head had become a problem that his bandmates could no longer ignore. Rumor has it that he had resorted to some "creative accounting" as a means to scam his bandmates out of money that he owed them (not to mention the fact that he had been cheating them out of songwriting royalties since the very first album).
Tired of being treated like shit, Grange and Holmes had had enough. They left the band in 1978 (after the release of the live LP), and this once great band was no more. Nugent hired 2 people to take their place, but he would soon discover that he couldn't replace them. The damage was done and the impact was felt immediately. Ted Nugent would have no more multi-platinum selling albums. Due mainly to his past success, he did manage a gold album (for half million in sales) in 1979 and another gold album in 1980, but neither album was very good. The hugely successful 70's artist had become an 80's flop. (Since 1980, none of his studio albums or live albums have reached gold status and none have charted higher than #51. ) From 1990 to 1992, Nugent had a brief resurgence in his career when he teamed up with Jack Blades of Night Ranger and Tommy Shaw of Styx to form the supergroup Damn Yankees, but that was his last hoorah. After Damn Yankees, Nugent has had to rely on his hunting shows and appearances on Fox News to keep his name semi-relevant (and only in small circles). Today, Nugent remains a case-study in how one man's ego, greed, and selfishness can destroy what was once a great guitarist in a top tier rock band.
