Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Super informative. I wish I had a demo this clear for every piece of equipment I consider purchasing. 🙏🏽

Looks and sounds like an insane amount of fun, but I’ll leave it to you young’uns... Great video as always!
this looks like a great piece of gear!!!. very exciting looking work flow with this thing. total bells and whistles piece of hardware for production
Many thanks, your review's incredibly helpful! Nice backing tracks too :)
Hey Hey! Thanks for the support! 😁👊
Great video. I had never heard of this thing and just happen to see one in a random video and was happy to see that you have a demo of it. Now i want one. Nice dnb groove too btw.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Nice. Never heard of this gear but this looks amazing. I'll have to add it to my list.
Hey Hey! 😀 👊
It is mostly marketed towards DJ's, not as much towards "live hardware gear jammers" ---
which is *exactly* why I wanted to show it! 🤓 👏
This thing really brings a whole new dimension to live "DAWless performance"! WOOT! 👍
My backordered RMX finally arrives tomorrow! Looking forward to jammin' out with it along with the DJS-1000 and Arturia MiniFreak 🤩
Thanks for the great tutorial - I've watched it several times in preparation for when it comes 👌🙂

Hey Hey! Thanks very much, Thomas! 😁🙏👊
i use one of these during production, then i put the whole mix trough it when ive finished the mix, then master it. very versatile fx unit. prior to that i used the korg kaos pad quad to do a similar thing (a lot cheaper to). excellent demo of the machine dean :)

@@ElectronisoundsAudio Thanks Dean!! You got me wanting an RMX now, would be potentially killer on top of the modular for live sets.
Thank you for this great video man
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
Thanks for this review as I just got mine back after 8 months in the repair shop its great to see a new review of an older product. Because of the age expense and being marketed as a dj efx a lot of people are unaware of its production potential. I would buy another one but I keep hoping Pioneer will release one with analog filters. For production it's fine as I run it through analog efxs, but if it had analog filters I could use it on the front end of my Xone 96 . Thanks again for the excellent overview.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Just a follow up on my comment it stopped working again, cannot be repaired.
@@tylon2999 Aaaaack! What a bummer! 😵

Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁👊
This is such a cool demonstration Dean. I use the iPad version but although i understand what the buttons do i don’t always know how to properly use things in a way that actually makes sense in a jam. You clearly explain those things here very well. Very fun and educational video even for users of the software version i think. Thanks! 😉😎👍🌟
Sweet! That is great to hear! 😁🙏👊
Thanks for watching, Ed!
@Ed B Metal, can the ipad version be controlled by a midi controller?
Great video. Very good suggestions how to use it, specially in subtle ways.
Hey Hey! Thanks for the support! 😀 👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio are you using the rmx for music production in your DAW too? I bought it primarily for that. It's really nice to throw some effects with a hardware unit after the track is fully mixed. You can just play around it like a DJ. Much more intuitive than programming in the DAW.
@@fzfzfzfzfzfz I need to try that!! 🤗😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio the RMX 1000 has a VST plugin. You connect the RMX via usb and control the plugin. Make sure to check it out! It's one of the best uses of this hardware.
awesome tips bro!

Hey Hey! Thanks for the support, Joey! 😁🙏👊
Thanks for the competent review. It can be hard to find content that isn't intended for a beginner audience. I always prefer to see hardware (in action in addition to reading and researching).
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Suuuuper helpful. Thanks!
Glad to help, Anthony! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Oh snap, I didn't see this beast coming. This sounds nice dude. I gotta learn about this but is it a looper too? Cheers and your video tutorials are sick. Hails audio kit too
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
It's not really a looper, but it does *small* stutter repeats, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 notes only though - not full measures (which would be sooooooo sweet!!) 👍
nice introduction ! Thanks
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching, Jimi! 👊
That little audio loop grabber is SO nice on mid agreed@!
Right?!?! I really love that effect! 💙
Depending on the exact timing of when it grabs the incoming audio, it can create some really sweet rhythmic variations!! 👍👍
great video... thanks
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching, Jimmie! 😀👊
Thats a cool little device
Thanks for watching! 😁👊
Great tutorial .
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁👊
best review in my opinion too!

@@ElectronisoundsAudio pleasure!!!!!
oh lord, even as a hobby/home dj myself, I really need this in my life! Kinda expensive though if you ask me, but probably worth it. Seems I know what to work for 2021. First goal of 2021 is set haha. Great review, Thnx
Hey Hey! Thanks for the support! 😁🙏👊
Very expensive for sure - this is definitely aimed at DJ's who are making (or attempting to make) $$$ by playing out, rather than home-based DAW less jammers.
I really think it can add a lot to a performance though, and really take it to the next level when you're trying to find or create "your sound". ❤️
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Thnx for the quick response. I was browsing the internet to find some external equipement to add on to my DDJ-800 or my old school technics decks. Only decided 3-4 months ago I would go digital and try it out (been spinning for a hobby for about 20 years now, coming from technic turntables + DJM-600 mixer), and this is right up my alley really. I have some friends pushing me a bit to go to livestreaming, since they think I'm talented at what I do (their words, not mine lol). So I might consider it tbh. These are actually hard to come by here in Belgium it seems, but I'll keep my eye out for a good priced one. Also, you got a new sub, you explain things really well. Have a happy 2021, and lets hope this year will be better that the last one! Greetz from Belgium.
@@vinblake3676 If you've got friends pushing you to do it, there *must* be some talent there! YOU GOT THIS, Man!! Dooooo It!!! (...and shoot me a link to your livestreams!) 🤗😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Thanx for the motivation, really appreciate it! Also, got a Shia LaBeoaf feeling when you said 'Doooo it!!!!' Good luck with your channel, hope it grows...
Man.. you started saying this was not a deep review. And is one of the best i have seen.
Hey Hey, Amatteus! Thanks for the support! 😀 👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Very well explained. To be complete you just missed showing: a) the several ways of connecting it, b) updating firmware, c) loading your own samples in the groove box, d) choosing your own configuration for all the effect buttons with a software called Remixbox, and e) using the vst version from your daw for production. This is what I am struggling with now. And there are no videos with deep explanations of these features. This machine is much more than a simple effect box for Djing with Pioneer... I have also seen people connecting it to Electron digitack. and is good for live Dawless performance. I wonder to how many other instruments you can attach it.. Maybe To my Roland TR8s.. That would be a killer.. All the potential f the TR8 S, with those effects.. I might try it..
@@Amatteus The title of my video says it all - "How *I* use it.
This is not a *every kind of possible detail* video, like I say in the video.
It's not a video on the vst version or how to use the vst version - that would be a whole video in itself... lol
This video is already 30 min long!
You can connect this box to *ANY* piece of gear or groovebox or dawless system - and that's the point - *no special connections or routing* - just plug and play.
The deeper features are best learned from the manual, imho. 👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio I am not complaining. Just informing you of what I miss after looking at more than 10 videos about RMX 1000.
Great video. Thanks.

Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Amazing
Hey Hey, Thanks for the support! 😁👊
The best and the best overview of this unit, very very educational. You make it easy easily easier.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Can i used the output of this unit straight to Speaker or an External mixer.
I am using DDJ 1000.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
Yes, the output from this would go directly to speakers or your main mixer before the speakers.
It's basically the very last thing in the audio chain.
Thank you for your reply. I've always thinking to include some finger drum to my sets, this video help me to choosing a gear, I learn alot from your videos. thanks and Much respect.
Great stuff from 19 minutes on. Using effects for impact. I want to try that with the MultiStomp.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
I bought recently djm 750mk2 mixer it's also making some effects.... but this baby is awesome...
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
GREAT review! Sounds like a MUST have gear. If using several synths, where would one most likely connect this within ones devices flow?
Hey. Luis! This is always going to be the very last thing in your audio chain, so if your synths are running into a mixer,
then you would run the master out of that mixer into this. 😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Thanks!
best video with RMX 1000 on You tube u when my english is not the best so i understood everything 🙂
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Very helpful!
Hey Hey, Rory! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
Excellent Dean , gonna try the iOS version first...
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
Definitely cool! Got me curious!😜👊🏼.....would you say this RMX compares to a Korg Kaos pad type of gear?....in overall functions? Seems like they might work well together too!
Hey Hey! They are definitely the same type of concept - run audio into it, and then effect and tweak your audio. 👍
That's about as far as the similarities go though - they both do different things to the sound.
I actually have a KAOSS Pad 3, but haven't gelled with it... Need to find the time to try again! 😀 👊
Really nice video, as a LIVE musician and not a dj its nice to get a different type of opinions by someone thats not a dj. I have a question tho, I see there are two types of inputs, could you use these inputs simultaneously? For connecting a looper and a beatmaker separately and use the mrx1000 also as a mixer. That way I could save a lot of space in my setup allowing me to replace my mixer by the rmx1000 and getting some really nice effects on top.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
This is not a looper. It's made for simply plugging in to your master output of your main mix. It does not replace a mixer in your setup.
Awesome video, Nice Desk! where you get it?
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
I had the desk custom made specifically to fit the space in here.
First of all, great video dude. Second, I really liked that loop you've played, where did you get it?
Hey Hey! Thanks very much! The music in the video was just a beat I made. 😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio awesome 👌 thanks
Thank You
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching - Hope it helps you! 😁👊
Sick video, really well explained. Can I link this up to a pioneer xdj rx3 controller?
It's just AUDIO, you plug your MAIN audio output of ANYTHING directly in to this. It's that simple. 👊
i gotta have one thank you
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁👊
Excellent video, well explained and very clear information, would you answer me please if the rxm 1000 can be used with a pioneer xdj rr?
It can be used with *anything* it's JUST AUDIO. Woot!! :)
@@ElectronisoundsAudio thank you for your fast response you had won a new subscriptor, your content its just stunning, 🙌🏼
Wish strymon or eventide would make something like this, it would slay!
That would be interesting for sure, but this one works just fine already, though, haha.... What would you want to be added or made different in a new version? 😁👊
Hi dean great video 🙌🏽 was wondering if you had any idea how I could connect a Digitakt and a tr8s to the rmx - would I need to go via a separate mixer or is there a way it could be done with splitter cables ? Thanks dude ✌🏽
Hey Hey! yeah, as soon as you want multiple things to go into the RMX, it's mixer time, imho. Splitter cables *might* work, but at the end of the day, this is really a job for a mixer.
Plus, if you have a mixer, you can add more things to your setup as needed. It can be a SMALL mixer..... *but having extra inputs to plug in more gear always seems to come in handy... 😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio dean , thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly , and thanks for the info , respect brother 🙌🏽✌🏽
That’s was a very nice tutorial from u, how can Connecticut to. DDJ SZ control?? Or how can link it up to any controller
Loke I explain in the video - it doesn't require ANY special connections - just master out from your setup (whatever that may be) into this. it's really that simple.
Great video. Can you please elaborate on your cable routing. Did you go from Master SEND on Mixer to RMX, and then from RMX into Master RETURN. Also, did you out the switch on the back of the RMX to send/return or Master?
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😀 👊
This mixer does not actually have any sends/returns. Just the built-in FX.
I'm simply taking the master out from the Allen & Heath DJ mixer, directly into the RMX-1000, and then directly out from the RMX-1000 into my main studio mixer to get the sound the the speakers. No midi, No special routing. Just direct out to direct in. 👍
@@ElectronisoundsAudio ok thanks.
What overview of the rmx. Suscribed. Yet, what bums me out is this thing is legit a 1000 bucks and it is legit a controller for your controller or a controller for your decks, and your controllers and decks can do legit everything this does except the stem and drum and clap parts need to be added into your memory cue banks from the start and the add and cut function and the overdub function is a neat thing but I don't see anyone really using those for general music.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊
Yeah, imho - if you already have those kind of fancy DJ decks, this is not really needed.
This is more for people who have very simple decks, or VINYL only setups without all that fancy stuff.
(Or hardware performers like me, who don't DJ at all.)
I think it would be overkill if you already have some pretty fancy decks in your setup.
Honestly not sure I need this with my DDJ-1000. Is there a way to isolate the effects to one of the deck's four channels or are the effects global?
Like I show in the video, you just plug in audio in and audio out to this. There are no special connections.
How you route it in your system is entirely up to your and your specific workflow/needs.
I don't have that mixer, and i'm not a DJ, so I don't have any specific insight here, sorry. 👊
this was really awesome you sold me..I will purchase this,,, can this also record your set?
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 🤗😁👊
Unfortunately, it does not have a built-in recorder. That would be crazy sweet, though - I wish they had put that in there!! 👍
maybe in the future :-) I will subscribe to your channel... a great review and I really enjoyed watching this video. I saw no one using this in 2021.. maybe not so popular among DJs but I can see this being very useful.
Do the effects have to play through the master or is there a way for it to play though one channel only?
Think of it this way:
The FX will be on whatever ***AUDIO*** you send into this box.
If you don't want the entire track, then you'll need a mixer that has some kind of AUX SENDS for you to route whatever audio you do want, into this box. 😀 👊
Can you do a video on resampling overdubs whilst adding fx? Seen James zabiela do a lot of stuff but he’s so fast it’s hard to learn
Nope, sorry - this is the video. I don't use it in any other way. If you want to use it in other ways, you'll need to figure those out for yourself, mate. 😁👊
Hello, do you buy xone db4 or 900nxs2 with rmx 1000?
What do you choose you?
Sorry, i've not used those other mixers - just the db2.
You just need to make sure it has the features you're after - i.e. how many individual FX units, looping tracks(?), external aux sends if you need them, etc.
GOOD LUCK! 😀 👊
Thanks man, I've actually bought a RMX after watching your video. But i have connecting issue.
I plugged the RMX audio out into a mackie channel input and the RMX input into the aux send. The sound come from the Analog rytm and dreadbox typhon.
Result is that when i turn the aux knob, i get the same signal playing twice and phasey sound. Any suggestion please?
Sure, you *HAVE* to plug this into the master out of your chain. This needs to be the LAST THING in your audio signal. It's that simple. No other routing. 😁👊
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Oh god! 2 days struggling with the aux send/insert, watching tutorial, reading forum. And it was, like you said, that simple. Thanks man !
What’ kind of audio cables did you use to the rmx to the mixer ?
Hey Hey! Just standard 1/4 inch cables, and sometimes TRS cables as well - both have worked equally well for me so far with the RMX-1000. 😀 👊
I need help!
How to connect te Rmx 1000 to ddjsx 2
When i connect i cant use te effects?
You just plug the MAIN OUTPUT of your mixer into the RMX-1000. If you want to connect 2 DJ mixers to it, then you would need to sum those mixers together into a small mixer of some kind, then take the MAIN OUTPUT from that mixer into the RMX-1000. 😀 👊
Hello how do you load your own drum samples?
I want 808 drum kit… is there a video demo on this add on?
Oh, I get your question now - sorry, I didn't understand when I read it the first time. No, I don't have a video on how to load your own samples into it, but it's in the manual of course and there is a video for that on youtube somewhere for sure if you search for it. It wasn't hard if I remember, just putting the samples onto the SD card. 👍
i have a denon mc4000 with serato, i would like to take pioneer rmx 1000, are they compatible? how does it work with connections and cables? do you have to have a program on purpose?
Sorry, like I say in the video - i'm *not* a DJ - I don't know what's compatible regarding DJ software/hardware..
I do not use Denon or Serato, I do not DJ.
If you watch the video, you will see how the RMX-1000 works.
That's the whole point of why I made this video. 😏
You just plug your audio in to the RMX-1000. That's it.
