Witnesses:
Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened on May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

Yeah. Some defendants don't deserve best possible defense. It's immoral to point out weakness in prosecutor work when somebody is accused of heinous crime.

Except if you actually listened to her you would know that she doesn't claim that anyone's memory is perfect, including her own! Didi you listen? Obviously not. Her whole thing is about how memory is imperfect, maleable, and subject to change by mere suggestion. But I don't expect most of you to have the intelligence to actually LISTEN to the expert witnesses, especially when they are called by the defense. Your mother should be ashamed at the kid she raised.

Omgosh I can't believe this lady would represent these people! How does she live with herself every night!
She isn't representing anyone. She's giving her expert opinion about how memory works and can be altered, and she is answering hypothetical questions based upon the current state of memory research. Nothing she said was surprising or inaccurate. The defense is entitled to question whether various witnesses' reports of what they remembered (which changed over time, after all), were accurate. Such evidence might come up in any trial.
But she still decided that she would work for the defense, which like I said would be for such people......have a good day!
She is just their to comment on memory and how it works. The innocence projects has freed hundreds of people that were wrongly convicted based on false/inaccurate memories often elicited by the police or prosecutor. She isnt even their to comment on Durst at all. She basically gave her Ted Talk.

@@brianacazares5024 trust me, as a person, I think she is repulsive. But memory science is useful when it comes to the wrongly accused. Think about how similar people look in reality, especially trying to relate a face youve never seen before. I struggled to give an accurate account to a police sketch artist. No matter what it wasn’t right. Try thinking about describing a loved one to a sketch artist, uts actually hard. So when you are shown a picture that gets it mostly right, a lot of people go with it, especially if they are told its correct by police.
She has an agenda. Tiresome. Her ego makes her look foolish at times. Just answer the question that was asked.

So many of the witnesses for defense have been hostile, and i don't know why he is not bringing this up to the judge??
I looked her up. She has been a controversial expert witness for some of the worst scoundrels. If Epstein had not offed himself, his team would have lined her up. Bet she'll testify for Ghislaine Maxwell. Time to start preparing my snacks for tomorrow!
Would think due to the age of the case (how long ago it happened) and all the witnesses that are elderly, the topic of "memory" would be critical to the Jury in my opinion. However, EVEN before the Prosecutor effectively dismantled her testimony and credibility, I would think the issue of "Memory" would also be counterproductive for Durst and his "memory" issues (not being truthful over the course of several years then all of a sudden state, for the purposes of his trial, that something he DENIED AS HIM BEING RESPONSIBLE for ever since the crime has been committed about 20+ years ago, he had ACTUALLY, IN FACT, committed)!!!
Will be VERY interesting, in my opinion, how the Prosecutor addresses this fact(s) etc ....

@@suzanneschmidt3755 She has been lying her a$$ off and the prosecutor is spending so much time establishing this foundation prior to asking questions about this case because she has admitted to the court before that she’s unethical, an unreliable witness & a liar. In her own words “A witness for the defence”. When Lewin gets to the questions about this case it literally doesn’t matter how she responds to them her credibility has been destroyed.
If you can’t believe her answers to the most basic of Lewin’s questions (like would you take a case where a family member is a victim?) how the eff do you believe the difficult ones involving memory

Did you happen to notice she never commented on the Durst case? She was a professor that was asked to testify about how memory works and was railroaded by nonstop hypotheticals. In science you always use qualifiers because science evolves.
