Beautiful meal and decorations! The way you are able to put together such basic ingredients and elevate them to such a scrumptious looking meal is really amazing! I usually spend considerably more and it never looks this good. You have a real gift for doing that, it's really inspiring. 😊😊
Thank you so much 😁
I’m team homemade dressing. When I was a teenager, I worked in a restaurant and learned how to make dressing. It’s so easy. Your chicken looks perfect!
Thank you 😁
I would consider myself a “good cook,” but for some reason I cannot get homemade dressing right. It’s either too slimy, too hard, too dry, the edges get over cooked, etc. I don’t know why I can’t get it right?!
@@brightpurpleviking How do you like it? Maybe the trick is to watch it like a hawk when it's cooking. You can always add the foil on top to prevent the edges from getting too dry or hard. We like it kind of dry on top but moist in the middle.
@@ArdentMichelle I like it so that when I scoop it out it all sticks together with only a little crispness on the edges! I will try harder next time!
Add a egg to your mix
I love how you do holidays, simple yet so complete. I think most of us overthink and you show us what's actually important.
I'm glad you like my video! 😁
This menu plan was outstanding. I’m someone who really doesn’t cook but I so appreciated Your detailed pointers for all the dishes. It’s not so much I can’t cook it’s that I don’t enjoy it. That said, though I’ve never tried to roast chicken because I’ve been afraid it wouldn’t work. I’m not afraid to try it anymore and I’m going to use your recipe! and great tips on the sides. If you have the ability to buy things a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving and get them on sale and put them in the fridge, it’s going to save you time and money. I’m Canadian so my Thanksgiving was in October but I hope all of you watching in the US have a wonderful Thanksgiving. ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks so much. 😁 I'm so glad you're going to try roasting a chicken. Yay! 🥳 If you have a thermometer it's good to use one, but I couldn't find mine this year 😂 It turned out perfect anyway.
Love homemade dressing! We add Granny Smith apples, tons of caramelized onions and fresh sage- so amazing! It’s always the star of the show on Thanksgiving
Sounds very good. I think the dressing was the star of the show for my sons this year too! It's the only time of the year we eat it.
Beautiful. A lot of people spend too much on Thanksgiving and waste food. They can't even finish the leftovers. This is more practical.
Thank you 😁
Bells Seasoning is an amazing seasoning for homemade vegetarian stuffing also- thanks for another terrific video!
Thanks for sharing the tip about the seasoning, and it's my pleasure. 😁 Thank YOU for watching!
Absolutely!!! I was horrified when I moved down south in 2003 and couldn't find it anywhere! My grandparents brought it with them. Fortunately now I can buy it online. It's one of the few spices, or spice blends that I still buy and don't grow myself.
I enjoy your content because it's peaceful. Your dinner looks delicious, and I love the presentation. Your table setting is very pretty. 🌸
I'm so glad you find my content peaceful 😁
That hot water on e spoon is genius for the spreading!
Thank you 😁
This dinner looks so inviting.i really think we are gonna replicate it. But will upgrade potatoes as suggested. Friends and family gatherings shouldn't require tons of hours to get results agree w/ shortcuts. Thank you so much.
You're welcome 😁Glad you like my video!
It looks delicious! One thing I always add to my stuffing is a small apple chopped. It gives the stuffing an extra flavor dimension. Happy Thanksgiving!
I bet that IS good 👍
My dad would buy the Kellogg's crotons. He would get a pan of water and add the giblets to it with some celery leaves and I think some onion. He would simmer them and add the broth to the croutons. He would cut up celery and onions and saute in butter with cut up apples. He would also cook some pork sausage and also add it.Howevwr he would drain the fat so the dressing wasn't greasy. He would then stuff the turkey, and momma would make the other dishes.
@hildahilpert5018
That is exactly what I do!!! Add the giblets after boiling for the broth I use to make the dressing. But, you know, we have to respect the vegan/vegetarian sensitivity.
I look forward to your Sunday videos, Michelle. You put a lot of work into these and each component is so well thought out. Very inspirational. Always looking for ways to save. Happy Thanksgiving.
awe...thank you so much 🥰 I'm so glad you look forward to my videos and appreciate the effort I put into them. Happy Thanksgiving 😁
You did your usual amazing job. I too really liked your decor. Simple and elegant.
Thanks for the positive feedback 🥰
I’m thanking God for your you tube channel! I’m learning a lot! From Oklahoma-tyvm ♥️
I'm so glad my videos are helpful! 😁 Thanks so much for letting me know 🥰
Another wonderful video. Thank you for all the work you do on your videos. I look up your videos when i have a bad day, need inspiration, for any reason really. Thank you again. I was dreading thanksgiving this year. Now. Not so much.
Thank you so much 😁 I'm glad my videos are helpful. 🥰 Thanks for letting me know!
I am team cornbread dressing. 😊 Great video
Thank you 😁
Me too, cornbread dressing is it for me. I was willing to try the vegetarian dressing, but I change my mind because it's just stuffing!😢😢
@@elvataylor9279 do you mean without meat? It has celery and onions as well.
My favorite Cranberry Sauce recipe:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
12 oz. cranberries, rinsed
peel of 1 orange, chopped or zested
cinnamon
cloves
allspice
In sauce pan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 5 to 10 minutes, until all berries have popped.
Cool.
I've used orange zest along with some orange juice and I love that too! Thanks for sharing your recipe! 👩🍳
Such a nice meal! When making dressing....I cheat a little and cook some cornmeal in the bouillon before adding it to the bread cubes. It gives the impression that cornbread was added and no one is any the wiser.
oh I love this idea! 👍 I'm going to try this next time. Brilliant.
The best dressing I’ve ever had was made from 1/2 cornbread and 1/2 buttermilk biscuits!
Yours looks great, too!
Sounds good, I'll have to try sometime 👍
Beautiful dinner! I thought the decor was lovely as well. This puts me in the mood for Thanksgiving. Thank you!
Yay! 🥳 I'm so glad you like my video. Thanks for letting me know!
Michelle, you did a great job on the dinner. I agree about the potatoes. Potatoes need to be a show stopper on the holidays. Anything less leaves a void in the experience.
As far as your table decor goes, I personally think you nailed it. Maybe you were feeling off on that day. Your videos are inspiring and beautiful to watch. They jump start me when I am discouraged by the ridiculous inflation we all are experiencing. (Nov 2024 is quickly approaching) The tone of your voice, the clear serene space of your kitchen, and the fact you choose to only show the food cooking process and plating truly help me focus on your content. Not seeing your face doesn’t hurt your content at all in my opinion. I also love that you are protecting yourself from others. Yea for you, Michelle.
Have a happy thanksgiving. Enjoy your boys/men around the table.
I will be looking forward to your next video.
BTW, not that it is important, but I am from your neck of the woods. I am now living in N. Idaho and loving the changes that has brought. I also still have many family in SoCal.
Hi Lori 😁 Thanks for this very sweet comment. 🥰 Reading this made me smile. I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. Northern Idaho is beautiful. 🌲 I'm glad it's suiting you well. Happy Thanksgiving friend 😁
I grew up with potato dressing, I was already in my 20's before I learned about bread dressing, yours looks delicious.
Oh wow. I've never even heard of potato dressing 🤔 I'm going to have to try that.
Never heard of it before! But willing to try it!😊
Everything looked so yummy! That chicken and those green beans - I could eat those every day. I thought your decor was beautiful! Wanted to add that I used to have a big mental hurdle about making homemade stuffing until I realized it's basically a savory bread pudding.
Thanks so much 😁
I love your holiday meals...❤
Hello 😁 Nice to see you again! If it weren't for my viewers like you, I probably would have skipped this video this year. It feels like it's barely fall...a little hard for me to get in the mood 😂 Glad you like my video!
You are the Thanksgiving 🧞♀️ Genie ❤
Thank you 🥰
Michelle I think you’re presentation and settings were beautiful. The fact that you do all of this work ahead to inspire us is so special. Please cut yourself a break. As for the Idahoan potatoes-they are so great and you can really make them sing with a little dollop of sour cream or milk.
Thanks Penny 😁 I always appreciate your kindness so much! 🥰 I do want to try to dress those up a bit. I was thinking about a Thanksgiving Hacks type of video to try out some of these things.
I'm wondering if you were the one that told me about the instant potatoes before. 🤔 because I remembered someone telling me they were good, which was why I had some in the pantry.
That looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😁
I found those lovely loaves at Walmart marked down to 27 cents and whole cranberries where just 50 cents .I wondered if they made a mistake . Got extra to freeze. I've not tried jalapeño in stuffing . Sounds interesting. I like to add clementine juice to my cranberries along with the sugar. Everything looks so inviting & beautiful .
wow..those were some amazing deals! 😁 Glad you like this video.
and I've added orange juice to my cranberry sauce too. It adds a nice flavor.
@@ArdentMichelle yes it brightens the flavor 😋 now I'm going to make one of my holiday favorites , cranberry/ orange quick bread .
@@rebekahhansen1112 oh I love that too 😋 yum...drooling over the thought of that.
My family doesn't care for turkey so I am going to follow your recipe for roasting a chicken. It looked amazing! Thanks for sharing a simple and frugal meal. Love your channel.
You're welcome 🥰
Looks delicious. Your chicken looked amazing!
Thank you 😁
oh man i love tjose chili flakes too.
i like the cream cheese with a jalepeno jelly, raspberry jelly or a jalepeno peach jelly/jam.
good on everything.
I love your meal ideas and enjoy the table decorations as well, it really makes it feel like a special occasion .
I thought the decor was lovely, maybe a bit more subdued than fall colors. But relaxing, pretty, and special none the less.
Thank you 😁 I tend to gravitate toward lighter colors. I wanted a darker colored look this year, but didn't want to buy a new tablecloth. 😂
I do enjoy your cooking, all your cute utensils and how very clean your stove is, your food is such a yummy pleasure, I cook for only my husband and myself so your choices are perfect for us.
Thank you so much 😊 I'm glad you like my Thanksgiving video!
On behalf of myself may i thank you for saving me countless off monies with these extremely valuable food saving vids
Thank you so much. 😁 I'm glad my videos are helpful.
I like the idea of vegan stuffing, and the cranberry sauce looks delicious... lovely production and great ideas as usual. Thyme and rosemary grow really well in pots in a sunny location, you can root a piece in water and plant, maybe just plant some to keep in front of your door or a window to always have some fresh herbs, just some money saving ideas :)
I agree, growing herbs is so easy if you have a sunny window to set it by.
or you can grow indoor with lights, which is what I did last time with my herb garden, but it takes up too much space for me.
Tricking your son into eating green beans! Well you convinced me to make Thanksgiving dinner. I'll probably have the same sides as you but use a stuffed turkey breast. Garlic beans are easy enough and I can just grab a pre-made mashed potato and gravy pouch. I've never seen bags of cranberries here but we have the Ocean spray jars. Yum now I'm excited.
Sometimes it takes trickery..... 😂
We make our dressing very similar/ I learned mine from my Grandma. I also sauté onions and celery with butter then add it to the bread crumbs. I use a lot of sage and some celery seed. So yummy! Your turkey looked fabulous! Thanks for another great video! 😊💝
Hi Vinny 😁 yes, sage would have been good 👍 Glad you like my video! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@ArdentMichelle Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too.
My favorite Stuffing recipe:
Stuffing
12 oz. Arnold Stuffing mix (Read ingredients to ensure vegan as some include chicken broth.)
1 flax egg (Combine 1 T ground flax with 3 T water, and let sit to become gooey)
3 T vegan butter
1 onion, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
garlic, minced
Bell's seasoning or dried sage, thyme, rosemary, seasoned salt, and ground black pepper
nutritional yeast
2 c water, heated and combined with 1 t no chicken base
Oil or vegan butter a 9” square casserole dish.
Add stuffing to large bowl. Add dried spices and nutritional yeast.
Saute onion and celery in vegan butter until celery is soft. Add garlic and saute a bit longer. Add this mixture to the stuffing and stir to combine.
Add broth slowly while stirring.
Add flax egg and stir again.
Put stuffing in casserole dish.
Bake uncovered at 350oF for 30 min.
Thanks for sharing your vegan recipe 😁
WOW !!! Absolutely beautiful !!! Table and food looks awesome !!! I love your videos !!!
Thanks so much!! 😁
Those idahoan instant potatoes are definitely a great option for instant.
feeling a little silly for not trying them sooner. 😂

@@hello-vs4me you too 😁
Rosemary & thyme are easy to grow in a pot & use all year long.
true if you have some sun 👍
A little orange juice or lemon & peel would also be good in cranberry sauce. I buy extra cranberries & put in the freezer for orange cranberry walnut bread.
I was going to mention the orange juice. Someone else mentioned the cranberry orange bread. I love that too. Craving it now. 😋
Me, too!!
It all looked delicious. My family are not really mashed potato eaters but I’m making a note. Homemade or Idahoan flakes…
Thank you so much for showing how simplicity can be elegant and celebrated! So often we overthink, overspend, and cook too much....love your channel! ❤
Welcome 😁 Glad you like my video and are enjoying my channel. Thanks for letting me know 🥰
As usual, your creativity impresses me!
First of all, as a southern girl I was so happy that you had cream cheese and pepper jelly!! It’s so good and so easy!
I am team homemade dressing, but I TOTALLY respect that not everyone wants to cook everything from scratch.
Your thoughtful tutorial for the younger viewers on how to prepare the chicken reminded me of one of my first Thanksgiving parties on my own. My husband was in the military and we were stationed in No. Cal. And my brother and his family decided to come from SC to spend the holidays with us.
To be fair, I was only like 23 but my turkey was a disaster. 😂
I didn’t give it nearly enough time to thaw, and I forgot to remove the giblets AND the gravy packet. 😳😂
But it made for good memories and we still laugh about it now, 27 years later.
oh yes.... I think we all have that memory of the "still frozen" turkey and cooked with the giblets inside. 😂 It's almost like a right of passage. 😂 Thanks for letting me know you like this one. Happy Thanksgiving Victoria 😁
Here in the south we make our dressing from semi stale cornbread and definitely add a good amount of sage.
I bet that's delicious!
This looks deeelish! The price of turkey at Thanksgiving is ridiculous. I will most likely be making chicken this year as well.
Thank you 😁 Agreed on the price of turkey. Crazy to spend that much for one item!
Aldi has butterball turkeys for $1.25 a pound.
@@reniedavisson8532 that's similar to the price at Walmart right now ($1.28) so about $18.34 for the smaller ones.
I like green apples, Cranberries & walnuts in my dressing.
yum. That sounds delicious! 😋

Hi Cathie 😁 Thank you so much 🤗 Glad you like my Thanksgiving video!
So do I! So fun!
Looks very good! Thanks!
You're welcome 😁 Thanks for watching!
This looks good. I spent Thanksgiving by myself. Because I don't like poultry, I just made a frozen cheese pizza for dinner on Thanksgiving. Definitely I missed not celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Christmas was much better for me.
I'm sorry you were alone on Thanksgiving. I was alone too because I was quarantining in my room with a sickness. My family ended up going out for the day. If I would have known, you and I could have emailed each other. 😁 I'm glad your Christmas was better. Holidays can feel so lonely without family!
looks absolutely stunning...you have outdone yourself...congrats...dts/usa
As always, it's a great video with some minimalist decor this year.
Glad you liked it! 😁
Lovely! I'll be making your dessert ideas for Christmas. I like homemade cranberry sauce as well. I add a hit of lemon juice to it which sophisticates the tang in it.
Nice 👍 I've used orange juice too. Glad you like my video!
Your dinner came out looking so tasty! I like the fact that you substituted the chicken for turkey. Mashed potatoes, I understand. It is important to have the right side dish. Like 668
Love your consideration of all types of eating!
Thank you!! 😊
Tip, cut the bread a day before cooking. It dries out a bit and absorbs the flavor a better. Dinner looked lovely 😊
Was wishing I would have cut it when it was frozen 😳 So much easier to cut.
and thanks for the tip and the complement!

I thought your table looked really nice! I love the simplicity of it. Your food looked really delicious. The weather was nice here so we had a bbq for thanksgiving. I had family for a couple of days and it was such fun. Have a great week Michelle❤
Hi Mary 😁 That's right, you had your Thanksgiving awhile ago 🇨🇦 I associate this holiday with cooler temps so it's hard to imagine celebrating at the beginning of October. It was still very warm here in California. A bbq sounds lovely though. What did you cook?
@@ArdentMichelle I had some t bone steaks in the freezer that I got on special, which almost never happens here, and they were quite happy with that because it’s such a treat. I made a lemon meringue pie and an apple pie and my brother in law brought a pumpkin pie. I baked a sourdough bread and we had baked potatoes and a green salad.

I really like the green theme you chose this year! It’s understated and elegant. Another great video. I recently learned you can dry brine chicken just like you would a turkey and it gives it extra crispy skin
Thank you 😁 Interesting about the dry brine 🤔
Hi Michelle, yes, Thanksgiving is closing in, we are having a small get together this year so I won't be making as much food. Turkey is a must, just traditional food. I buy seasoned bread crumbs and then add my own ingredients like you do. Homemade cranberries for sure, I think it tastes better but when I worked it was usually open a can 😀 cheesecake is my weakness so that's a go, even with a small amount of people. Then Christmas is next, I'm pretty sure you are thinking about what to share with us then . And then in January it is time to think about weight loss . 😬
Hi Charlotte 😁 I like your way of thinking. 😂 So true about weight loss after all of the holiday food. I think cheesecake is my weakness too. I ate too much of it, and I'm not even a sweets person. Finished off the last one last night.

I’m also going an easier route this year for Thanksgiving. For the last 50 years I have baked a turkey. This year I’m roasting a 6 pound chicken, which will give my two sisters and myself plenty of leftovers. I’ll add mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce I put in the freezer, and homemade dinner rolls. Not sure what I’m doing for dessert. I’ll ask my sisters what they’d like. I’ll save so much time and energy by not cooking a big turkey and washing all those pots and pans. No green bean casserole, no sweet potatoes, not going to make two different salads or have a veggie and fruit platter. But we’ll have a great dinner and more time to play cards or watch tv. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
and it'll be just as lovely as it always was, except you will have more energy and money. 😂 I would have liked to include sweet potatoes, but I'm the only one that eats them. I'll probably still make them sometime in the next month for myself though.
Happy Thanksgiving Debi 😁
