That's normal, Mojang made it a feature so that mobs woudn't enter a minecart when the player didn't wanted for them to enter

@@NotSafe idk many examples rn since its 1 am at my place but i was thinking something like: steve goes into a cave and finds diamonds. His iron pickaxe breaks on one of the diamond ores and crafts a wooden pickaxe. Then proceeds to break a diamond ore and it drops nothing. Thats at least the first one that comes to my mind but im sure there is many ways you could do this. Ty for the response tho :D
