The act prohibits the conversion of religious places after 15th August 1947, but, does it restrict scientific and research based study of religious places? If not, then the AHC can easily dismiss the counter-pleas. But the question remains, even if the ASI continues with its survey and finds that there really existed a temple, then it'll be a hard time for the court to come up with a conclusion because of this act. But since this is an act pertaining to religion, the Legislature will have a hard time removing it, as counter-pleas can easily be filed in the SC challenging the removal.

Patthar ki masjid in Patna City is also one of the examples as it's walls were adorned with lotus flowers and lord Ganesha carvings which were later removed and plastered to make the walls flat.
