    Do you realise this does not explain why CO+ has a bond order of 3.5? This is an incorrect MOT model for CO

    • @ashmeetkaur274
      @ashmeetkaur274 Před 3 lety

      I think co is an exception for sigma🌟2z has highest energy ✌️

  • @edmond0073
    @edmond0073 Před 2 lety

    CO is a heteroatomic molecule so there's NO WAY C and O can have their orbitals at the same level. There is also no mention of NBMO's here. This approach is incorrect.

  • @kusumrohra5861
    @kusumrohra5861 Před 4 lety

    Didn't explain why 2pz is above 2px and 2py

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety

    Last electron pair should be in non bonding atomic orbitals, which has slight antibonding character...not in pure antibonding as u have made... that's the error...cz concept of s-p mixing applies here

  • @taimoorkamboh827
    @taimoorkamboh827 Před 4 lety

    you draw the structure for O2 but in title you wrote its CO.. how much its ridiculous?

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety

    That last electron should be in non bonding orbitals not in antibonding what u have made ... concept of sp mixing operates...

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety

    Kindly answer my query.... don't u think its just basic ncert level diagram?? Which is conceptually wrong...

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety +1

    This is just basic ncert level diagram which is 100% wrong....this cannot explain even the effects of synergic bonding in metal carbonyls....

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety +1

    Even hybridization cannot be explained by this diagram...how u can say its correct...100% wrong accept it

  • @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH
    @CHEMIIT-VISHALSINGH Před 3 lety +1

    100% wrong concept....if u want proof refer to some advanced books of inorganic chem. Like JD LEE...

  • @yashkandoi5445
    @yashkandoi5445 Před 4 lety

    This is wrong
    C and O do not have same energy levels
