Obviously the scene with Bruce visiting Joker in Arkham was the best ending. It shows that even after all he's done, Bruce is not willing to give up on him and really does want to be his friend.

I like to think that the lack of music except for the haunting echoes+the small laugh john gives at the end+the fact that bruce doesn't say anything, just straightens his tie and looks down means that that it actually hush impersonating bruce for a possible season 3.

@@BenDaGoat I kind of understand why people want it to be hush because that'd be a possible narrative point for a season 3 but in my opinion it's kind of stupid. Like why would hush randomly appear out of nowhere and in the end credits. Everyone should know it's bruce being johns friend because of one thing. He only appears in one. If it was actually hush you'd think he'd appear in most of them.

Kevin Bacon true....but I believe that will only happen depending on what choice you made at the end. Did you ever consider him a friend, and did you let Alfred go. I felt awful having to tell Joker that we never had any good times in my ruthless run. Although the post-credits scene I got, the first one, has me really excited for the future. I chose to give up being Batman though so I wonder what that will mean for me.

Neo Machine well John killed people and was in the pact and in the end of the vigilante's episode he became even more of a monster than in the villain's route just look at how brutal he was with those agents, as Batman says he was always a criminal. I never considered him as a friend, an ally at most but not a friend. He is a mad and violent person afterall and has always been that way since the first time we met him and would have let bruce die in that ice chamber just cause he didn't have the guts to vouche for him with Harley.

Well the agents are willing to work under harley a seasoned murderer , and would've killed him or made him their dog as well so Honestly I would've been brutal too . I mean look at this from his perspective : He isn't an angel since he joined the pact for the love of harley but he did help to bring them down , ( with the cost of harley ) he witnessed agents who wanted to kill him even if he surrendered , he witnessed waller's corruption and her desire for the virus , he was framed for the murder of the riddler . And waller , waller of all people had the nerve to call him the villain of the story even thought she tried to kill him and frame him . And he learn that the person who killed riddler was tiffany , the person that bruce protect . For someone mentally challenged I am surprise of the self control he had this whole time .

In the comics there have been several times when Joker has hinted towards knowing Batman's identity, and I am very sure times where he just does know with no doubt about it. However, he lives for Batman. He needs Batman and so revealing his identity gets Joker nothing. That is not to mention that it's all a game to him.

Both Bane and Ra's al Ghul knows Batman's identity in other Batman media. However, Joker, like said villains, see more in Batman than just an obstacle. Ra's wants Bruce as his successor, Bane wants to be the one who break/kills him, and the Joker enjoys Batman's existence. Revealing this secret to the rest of the world would just ruin their plans, since it would then be easier for everyone else to destroy Batman, knowing he is Bruce Wayne...

3:58 I love this ending. The music, Batman letting Joker know he will always be there to stop him if he escapes from the Asylum and Joker saying nothing will keep enemies like them apart before bursting out in laughter... And so the endless rivalry between the Batman and the Joker begins in the Telltale universe too.

Hopefully Telltale goes forward with a season 3, they have to at this point since there’s so much they can do story and villain wise as well as patching up plot holes. Maybe the main antagonist should be scarecrow with subtle hints of the court of owls, maybe have joker escape Arkham releasing some of its inmates like Harvey Dent and Zsasz.

I accidentally didn't say anything when Joker asked if we are friends, and to be honest, I'm kinda glad I didn't. The ending with Joker looking out of the window, seeing Batman and saying - "Enemies" was kinda fantastic. Especially the fact that it creates that Batman vs Joker dynamic we know from comics, but with different and unique bond. Also, I think it sets up Joker as a villain lot better than in villain play through, because in villain story he was way too insecure. In vigilante though, it's like slow backstory for real Joker. Of course not saying that staying friends is a bad thing, it's a different story and it can be played as such, just saying that as a fanboy, that was really great for my taste.

I like the not once villain joker scenario. It resembles and previews the never ending, back and forth, classic and historically deadly battles they've had and will have. I hope this series continues, we need an active batman game. This may be the best in a long time. Plus I think everyone wants to see the possible introduction of new and classic characters. This series did such a good job of character adaptations and giving them a "new modern look". Bane Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Freeze, Riddler... I'd like to see Scarecrow, Ras AL Ghul or even Killer Croc added in the mix! This series has potential.

I agree with eoghan that it is a tough choice, however I am surprised at the number of people who chose Batman over Alfred.
On PS4 at least it was like 36% chose to give up being Batman. I feel safe choosing that option though as it means there are more options for the future, such as Bruce providing more funding to the Police, and maybe even working with them kinda like what is happening in Batman White Knight. This is not to mention that I wonder what the option will hold should a Season 3 be released.

There’s not a chance in hell that batman would give up batman, which is why I like how telltale lets you choose, because YOU are batman so you can choose what YOU would do in those situations. Besides if they make a season 3 Alfred will probably come back anyway

The Hawk. In Season 3 he will just become Batman again. After like a Year. I think Hush will be the enemy. Judging by the recap. And maybe possibly The Court Of Owls. Anyway the Choice.
      On IPAD.
Like 58% chose to give up Alfred.
And like 36% gave up Batman.
I personally gave up Alfred in my main Play Through. Since I can go and ask him for help wherever he goes. It is a very hard choice. But think about it. With Batman Gone. Crime will go up like 80% true we can fund weapons to the GCPD. But that won’t be enough we saw what happend In Season 2 Episode 2 Bane Stole The Weapons. And Gotham Will Fear. People will die. Gotham will burn without Batman.
      Alfred.
Crime goes down a lot. A few people die. But Batman Defeats The Criminals. And Saves People. And Criminals will Fear and stop their acts. And when things get really bad. I can Beg Alfred for help since I will need it expressing my true feelings. So yeah but every has their opinion. And I respect both of yours.

What makes the second and third ending particularly sad is that, when we see him all alone in his cell, Joker isn’t ranting and fantasizing about how he’s going to make Batman suffer. No, he’s silently grieving about his fallout with Bruce, showing that John is still very much there, he didn’t “die” the moment Batman told him they were never friends and was replaced by the maniacal and sociopathic Joker. This isn’t a comic book-esque “light switch” transformation, or at least, John still doesn’t truly hate Bruce and his last line very much confirms that he’s still yearning for some kind of connection between them.

anyone notice.. Joker does what batman says he is (vigalante)
if your his friend, he will be sincerely, at the end like someone else said, he laughs when he's nervous, but in that end he is sincerely happy to see bruce (his one and only friend)
on the other hand, if you say your a crinimal, he thinks for a few seconds and starts laughing, and then he see's batman outside. The bond is still there.. he saw it as batman telling him his role in the "play", he see's him and realizes like oh shit, we're supposed to be arch enemies, and so him laughing could be nervousness or true happiness because he's excited to spend more time with him. I think he just misunderstood in this case, while in the crinimal part he is more sadistic but still has that bond as we see, though he's completely choosing to go over the edge, i feel like the vigilante bad will be more like the jokster joker (i.e. A lot more clown based products over really anything he feels like at the time)
They both wear masks, batman gave him his new mask to wear.

  • @Skyrimkid9800
    @Skyrimkid9800 Před 6 lety +49

Honestly the villain joker in this universe seems to be my favorite version of the joker so far. Even though John becomes a murderous psychopath, he still has some humanity in him. Yes, his joker personality completely takes over his mind but John is still in there trying to crawl out and you can see that during the dinner scene. It adds a lot more character to the joker, especially during Bruce and jokers final conversation. The fact that Joker also knows who Bruce really is and refuses to tell anyone makes things really interesting and I look forward to what telltale is brining in season 3 for the joker. Also, his character design is great, he’s like a cracked out version of the dark knight returns joker, and it just seems cannon to me and the vigilante joker is more of a “what if” scenario.

    • @Miant
      @Miant Před 6 lety +4

A "what if" scenario brought to life by the fact that Bruce wasn't an asshat to him. Both versions could stand improvement, they're two versions of a man that's chosen to allow the actions of someone he looks up to, to shape him, renouncing the responsibility himself to own up to his decisions. You see this especially where he chooses villainy, trying to pin where he is and what he does on Bruce. Bruce-- people in general, can influence another, to varying degrees, but it's always *that* person that ultimately makes the decision of which path they choose to walk. Or what they have for breakfast.

+Miant It's pretty extreme and evidently destructive for Joker to build his identity around Batman/Bruce, especially when his code seems against Joker's nature. The villain ending had far more extreme destruction, but the vigilante presented the same problem. Based on the arkham teaser, Joker will be at the core of season 3 and he will be a villain - given 4/5 endings point in that direction.

    Pro-Vigilante Joker Path:
    a) Possible chance of reconciliation with Joker.
    b) Less people died in this path.
    c) Gordon does not get crippled.
    d) Amanda Waller's crimes was found out by Batman through Imam Avesta
    Con-Vigilante Joker Path:
    a) Bruce Wayne's position in Wayne Enterprise will be trouble due to his involvement with Harley and Joker in Episode 2.
    b) If Batman encouraged Gordon to fight back for his old position, the chances of him getting back his old job is not strong.
    c) Batman can't save both Catwoman and Imam Avesta from Amanda Waller. He can only choose ONE of them during the rooftop confrontation. If he choose one of them, the other will remain with Waller.
    d) If Batman did not ask for his favour (depend on what he choose at the rooftop) at the end, Waller will not go through with it .
    Pro-Villain Joker Path:
    a) Catwoman and Iman Avesta can be freed from Amanda Waller.
    b) Despite being crippled by Joker, Gordon can be reinstated as Commissioner by Waller through Bruce Wayne.
    c) Possible chances of reconcilation with Waller.
    Con-Villain Joker Path:
    a) Zero chances of reconcilation with Joker.
    b) Many people died in this path including Regina Zallerbach and several executives of Wayne Enterprise.
    c) Amanda Waller's crimes were not found out.

Player 2-LightWater The one where Joker becomes a vigilante is more realistic. I understand why people chose the villain route. As the Joker whose evil is imprinted in our heads for a long time now. But this was a redeemable Joker and one that was a loyal friend at least. Also in the villain route wasn’t that realistic since when do Waller and Batman actually have perfect harmony? In most tv shows and comics they’re at each other throats and she’s crazy with her inhuman methods. Anyways, I think saving Avesta over CatWoman a good choice, CatWoman chose her path and had her chance. It doesn’t mean CatWoman dislikes Bruce if he sacrificed himself for her lol

You know, I'd like to think that in spite of everything that happened in the Vigilante route, no matter if you made a call or stopped the fight in the Asylum, if you chose Bane over Harley, if you let him have the Batarang or not or any other important choice in your playthrough throughout the seasons: if you were honest with John, cared about his well being, helped him out with Harley, protected him even if it meant you'd have more troubles along the way and even tried to instruct him to take the right way when he took all those innocent lives... the post-credits scene showing John smiling (genuinenly smiling, not "evil" smiling, "sarcastic" smiling or even "sad" smiling) for your visit will prove that it was all worth it.

By my choices & playthrough, I got the second last ending, & after watching all these ending, I really can't decide which one is better or best & how that will be evolving into the next season (3) considering my (& other) choices.
One thing I understood for sure after playing & finishing two seasons & 10 episodes of Telltale's BATMAN, is that, In a one way or another, we still have to play & continue by their way of storytelling for every episode & season & game they made & will make. It's really a kind of illusion that they've created, say it one of their USP or whatever, but still, I like the way it is. I, we can only hope that they could really give us more freedom of choice but that technically not possible because after all, unlike our life, it's a game franchise that they have to develop further by their way.

    • @Doom_Hawk
      @Doom_Hawk Před 6 lety +1

They are definitely getting better at it. The only reason Walking Dead Season 1 done so well was because we had yet to see the faults in their formula. Don't get me wrong I have been a fan of every game released since Walking Dead Season 1 , excluding Minecraft as I am just not interested, but the illusion of choice was very much there too.
I think the story of WD Season 1 was what made up for it. When it comes to developing their formula I think the best at it would be TFTB, the beginning of the new changes in my eyes. They had hints of the relationship mechanic and it had an excellent story, even better than main series Borderlands stories to me.
Next, we have Guardians of The Galaxy which further explored the relationships mechanics between your crew. I have to admit I have yet to do a second playthrough to see how varied it can get though.
Third, is The Walking Dead Game Season 3. The most varied it got was its finale episode though unfortunately. Had the entire season been as dynamic as the finale then maybe it would have been received better.
Finally, Batman Enemy Within. Introduced an official relationship mechanic that could change episode by episode and also the one to bring us a unique finale experience that can change drastically depending on your choices up until this point. I am hoping that this will be further expanded on in the future and that we may even get 3 or 4 different finales. Could even be soon!
I mean, TWAU Season 2 is coming out this year, as well as The Walking Dead Season 4, so they may make for good examples of the system too. I imagine that with another detective style TWAU we can really explore the relationship mechanic thoroughly and it can lead to very different endings. With Walking Dead it is the final season, at least of Clem's story, so it can go wild if they are going to end it officially for good. Lots of different possibilities for varied endings and entire different episodes, hopefully.

Actually it’s Bruce’s left ear that is injured and in the post credit we only see Bruce’s right ear which is not injured and besides if we don’t remove cowl in season 1 Bruce will still have both ears sooo...

By the vigilante one I preferred the first ending because at least Bruce gets to talk to John.

When I played this I was excited I really liked it but I was disappointed that You couldn’t stay friends with John and go along with what he wanted

Is there another ending for saying I did and giving up alfred? Or is it just the first ending regardless of giving alfred up or not?

I think that Bruce didn't visit joker at the end of that 1st scene. I think that could be Hush.

I always go for the villain route. Don't get me wrong. I was friendly to him throught out the game. Up until the carnival part. I wanted to go the Vigilante route. But that would mean destroy the virus, aka Freeze's only hope to cure Nora. Not to mention, the more I thought about it, the more sense it made to have Jonh arrested. He had a thing for unrestrained violence, and Bruce wasn't exactly in a morally clear lign of profession.
