BRO! That Steve Jobs clip was such a good find
Thanks! 🙌🏼 thought it fit just right haha
What was the discussion here? 😮
@@Ikr-u7gvr
It has been everywhere for months since the Apple vision pro announcement.
It’s been everywhere 😂
man I have been waiting for someone to make this video. Bless.
Glad it helped!
What's crazy watching this is that I can easily imagine a future where you can choose any old household items to become your 'mouse' or your premiere 'wheel'.. what a world..
This was the EXACT video I wanted. Amazing work dude!
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it! 🙌🏼
This is insane! Thank you for going so in depth!
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼
Damn, what a great review. I gotta say I really didn't think Apple could get this kind of complexity and exactness, to the point you could actually do such type of detailed work as video editing from the get-go. Truly amazing. The fact you could actually get that point of productivity within just a few hours of using it is insane. Can't wait till people start to use this thing in truly creative and innovative ways.
100% within just a couple days it’s amazing how much more fluid I am. This is a very capable machine and to think it’s V1 is nuts. Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼
@@initialfocus thanks for the reply... You have great delivery, clear, paused language, a natural speaker. Never seen your channel, will subscribe to both this and the new vision pro channel. Can't wait to see what you unravel, uncover, bring forward with this new tech!
You haven’t tried dragging a video footage from vision gallery to the mac version of davinci. I was looking forward to see this! 😄
There is so much potential for this. V2.0 Ultra version could have professional CC corrected eye screens, you could pull the color wheels off and set them on the desk, pro monitor off on the back wall the size of a theater screen, all your tools and your scrubbing screen in front of you, and when someone walks into the room to give you “notes”, you can stick a Mimoji face in them so soften the critique. 😂
the PERFECT intro
I appreciate that man 🙌🏼
Done & sold ! You got me at PROD / EDITOR . I’m there with you . Thanks for this it’s so helpful to see an actual YT / editor prove that the future looks so bright ! You gotta wear AP / Pro V 🎬🎥💯💪🏼
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼 can’t wait to see what this grows into!
This is what I needed! I just bought a VP, and I’m waiting for my custom eyepieces to arrive! Can’t wait to try out DaVinci for iPad on this thing!
this is exactly what i wanted to test, thank you for this video which helped me decide that i can wait till the 2nd gen vison pro comes out
Great to hear!
as always Apple again impressed me 🍎🫶🏼
You and me both!
Great video. Been using mine a lot but have yet to try editing. I am actually used to editing on PC so i was sad...until i figured out how to cast my PC into the AVP with essentially no latency. Man I cant wait to see how this software develops
I held my breath in anticipation when you dragged from the photos app to the media bin! What a time to be alive! 😂
That’s what I’m saying! 😂🙌🏼
That intro, with a golden clip and slow push 🔥🔥
Keep it up man 🤘
As a quest 3 and quest 2 user, is so funny that people only is realizing the potencial of VR and AR. I having been working with over 4 screens for the last 6 months and is life chaging, is incredible, you feel like super powers
Yes and quest 3 allows multiple monitors in supported apps unlike this 3500 waste of money
He literally has several screens open wtf are you talking about@@cosandreas9414
U know , apple people😂
@@cosandreas9414ok, and how many productivity apps do we have for Quest and do we have any pro apps supporting it?
Thanks 🙏 you have answered many of the questions I had. The observation of using this when you are traveling to edit with Resolve is very interesting and useful. I use the iPad version a lot and this is only the first generation!! ❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful!
bro this is wild, I can't believe this is actually real. The other videos do not show clearly this level of smoothness and performance, this is just insane
It truly is! Like of course it’s not perfect and has moments of being clunky but damn is it incredible for V1
Hello. Thank you for the video. This device is so cool. I'm sure by next year we will have FCP and Logic Pro as well.
I’m guessing by WWDC they’ll have a version of Final Cut app but weird it wasn’t ready day 1! lol thanks for watching 🙌🏼
@@initialfocus It was a very high security project. I don’t think any devs other than those with very close connections to Apple would have had the hardware to test and develop apps for the platform. There will be a massive flood of apps integrated into the AVP now that it’s public.
@@winniethepoohxi1896but we have MS Word for AVP already: )
Mate......the nest part of this video HAS to be the Vision Pro blood rush mark on your head from wearing it so much. LOL. It's like when the internet was first launched and you knew instantly who just go connected cause they would look like death warmed over when they came into work the next day!!! Ha ha nice dedication mate!!!!!
At this point I’ve just accepted that face mark for hard work 😂 appreciate the compliments 🙌🏼
Can’t wait for developers to show us what this thing can really do. Seeing what the App Store did for the iPhone/ iOS, I can’t imagine what’s coming!
Well done. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Thanks for the video. This may be for me later down the road if I can hold off long enough on upgrading my old Apple Displays. Roughly the same price as 2 Apple Studio Displays, possibly get Apple Vision Pro instead. I'll be curious to see how things go as you make more videos. Thanks!
Nothing wrong with waiting to see how these things update! Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼
Great video Fence. I was in Apple yesterday travel a lot, and I'm looking for an editing solution for my daily.vlog. I'm definitely not Michael Bay so I think this could be a great fit for me
Seriously brilliant content 🎬🎥💯👍🏼
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for this video. One item that was not mentioned was its video export ability. I currently own this product, and I have recently spoke to Apple support regarding whether or not this device has a media engine. They could not answer this question. I am curious, have you gone down this path and what can you tell us about video export speed using the Apple Vision Pro. Thank you again for the video. I look forward to your reply.
Doesn’t look like its quite there yet. The perfect situation would be Final Cut Pro made for vision OS with some immersive qualities to it and made specifically for the headset. When we get to the point where you don’t have to buy another device. Where you can just put this on and be good to go and its way cheaper, then we’re gonna be in a good place
insane. I can imagine working in 3D software on it in the future.
Yesss 🙌🏼
Great. Game changer. The virtual studio, office....It's not about speed in comparison with what we are used to, it;s about new workflow efficiency... so... in the end it's about speed...
I can’t see any scenario where waving your arms around in front of you is more efficient than using a mouse though? No matter how cool it seems. I would hate to have something like that strapped to my head for 8 hours just so I can have multiple windows in view that fill up my whole visual field. None of what’s been shown so far is really a trade off for that nor is it drastically improving on what we have currently in a workflow sense. Humans can only focus on a single workspace at a time and we do our best work by staying put and focusing on the task at hand not walking around the streets and taking our setup with us. It all just seems gimmicky and marketable.
@@johnc3451 Exactly.
Even when jobs was saying that, he knew he wanted to create a set. The technology just wasn’t there yet then. It was close. That interview was probably around 2010. I use to watch those.
It was the D3 conference in 2005 👍🏼 the idea was definitely on his radar
@@initialfocus Ah 2005. Gotcha!
@@initialfocusGives the vibes of Howard and Tony Stark.... Being limited by the technology of the time but knowing it could be achieved based on the trajectory of advancement
Just curious if you've tried stabilizing the captured footage. Wish the smoothness of what we can see inside was natively stabilized while it's saving the clip. I kept having to remind myself to move my head very slowly while capturing.
one thing i haven't seen people mention is that vision pro seemingly cannot disable spatial audio, and it's the same if you pair it to latest model airpods. that would be a problem for video/audio editing that involves stereo mixing for that you cannot trust your device for the amount of phase in each stereo channels. as a video editor / audio mixer that is kind of a deal breaker until they put a toggle somewhere in the settings maybe.
That is a very interesting point! Going to look into that!
thank God, there's a video about video editing on the Apple Vision Pro!!! I am a photo pro user, but lately I've been using CapCut..... can I use CapCut in the Apple Vision Pro through my M3 MacBook Pro??
Very interesting. I also edit a lot and also do music. I could also imagine chilling in the sofa with this and working
Vision Pro looks just as bulky as the VR goggles of thirty years ago. Is that supposed to make laptop computing more convenient and more mobile when commuting in the city and when at the airport? When google glasses was introduced a couple years ago it was expected that apple’s product would be similar to how rayban sunglasses handle.
Very interesting. I’m always looking for a place to work from on location where I can set up a MacBook with external monitor and not have too much light hitting the screen so this should solve that problem. Will probably use it with the Mac as it’s monitor
Sounds like the same kind of problems that the first gen Iphone was going through with Copy and Paste, and Cut and Paste. It will be useful if .... and the list starts happening. 2-3 Generations later, we will start talking. But the issue is it costs US $4500 , which isn't exactly an annual investment into a product like this.
I wish/hope that every panel within DR could be moved/sized indecently of each other too … but as you said; v1 and, likely BM won’t make changes unless they apply to other systems too ..
Looking forward too the future..
More importantly, using this as a camera monitor. Unlimited brightness in any scenerio
15:55 okay, so not 5K Pro RGB, but unless colour grading or focussing on extreme cgi editing, who edits like that? You use proxies and get the timeline down. Very excited for this, even if it doesn’t replace, it is an incredible extra for a V1!
I have the same mouse, and if it's already connected to the computer it works.
Wow.. If it’s heavy and uncomfortable, you’re wearing it wrong. It reminds me of Antenna Gate.. speechless...
stumbled upon your channel. My personal new favorite overall view on the product itself. So many mainstream reviewer and tech people getting this thing wrong - its mindblowing....
That means a lot thank you!!
Great video Michael! Sent you an email a few days ago about linking to/giving you a shout out - will re-send it now in case you didn't see it.
Excellent video! Looks so good for photo and video editing!
Thanks for watching 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I would like to have 3 monitors for your Mac editing experience to be complete. Just one, and not panoramic is not perfect for timelines. But this is just the beginning, Looks a terrific and movie like future.
Agreed. I have been waiting for someone to answer that question - can you rin DVR in dual screen mode plus the clean feed monitor on it?
That was a solid intro my dude 🤣
Thanks! Quite fitting haha
ONLY BIG PROBLEM.... its not color accurate enogh for pro editing... maybe for youtube, not so much for professionel corporate videoes or comercials.
Apple next version has to be able to switch to Calman Verified color mode with DCI-P3, Rec. 2020, Adobe RGB and sRGB.
If it was there with up to 3 screens... everyone editing video was onboard right away.. But right now its made for consuming content instead.
But great video. Thank you for showing that perspective. - Its almost there.. a little scary :) but need some fundamental things for it to work for me personally.
- Connect directly to macbook pro or Mac studio as a screen both wireless and with a cable
- Bigger batteries
- Being able to show three seperate screens like a normal video editing setup
- DCI-P colors at the least. (would be nice to have them all like on normal colorgrading screens)
- Keyboard and mouse input
- Work with the whole Adobe suite
Thank you for the thoughtful comment! In the coming years, it will only get better 🚀
Just got done doing the Vision Pro demo at the Apple Store in Indianapolis. very impressive, especially the immersive environments video. Have you compared shooting spatial video on the iPhone vs. the Vision Pro? It seemed to me the spatial video shot on iPhone wasn't nearly as good as the clips shot on AVP... I'm guessing due to the lenses on the phone being too close to each other. Has anyone seen any info on how they shot any of the video from immersive environments video in the demo? I'd like to see more on how that was created.
FWIW the trackpad works great for the resolve on VP scenario
does Vison Pro has IS while screen recording? Its so shaky to watch the video
thanks
Really nice take dude!
Thanks Alessandro!!
the end of the cable that plugs into the external battery has 24 pins on it
coincidentally, usb-c and thunderbolt also use 24 pins
what’re the chances they’re using all of those 24 pins just for power?
i’m thinking they soft locked out data transfer for the user, for the moment at least
Check out update resolve for iPad
Very informative thankyou
Glad it was helpful!
Steve job proud rn & yeah this is insane still love my quest 3 , hopefully they lower price and add more games
Great video dude, does it works with mac mini/studio as it is works with macbook? Really curious to know the answer, I hope this comment finds you 😊
Great video! Have so many questions in regards to Resolve. (I am a professional colorist!)
Thanks for watching! I uploaded a color accuracy on the avp video last week, would love to hear your thoughts 👍🏼
@@initialfocus Actually currently testing it out for color grading! Definitely have a lot to say about it. May actually post something about it on my tiny channel soon. Overall I think software is mainly in the way. Great stuff, keep it coming!
Mac screen share is unfortunately only 2560p, so it’s like getting an old Thunderbolt Display from what I heard - Update - it’s 4K with Apple Silicon Mac’s, “up to 3k” with Intel…
Unfortunately, macbook screen share is 600p or 800p max.
Can you use the speed editor on the native app?
I suppose another way to sync videos is using Blackmagic Cloud? That should be even more streamlined if you use one of those cameras that can upload directly to the cloud (like BG2).
Yes and yes haha my speed editor is paired to my Mac so I use it on that. But I could re pair to the “iPad” app on the Vision Pro.
And yes using Blackmagic cloud storage to sync proxies is game changing workflows
Michael i’m really impressed, compliments!
Thank you but i have one question on my mind at the moment.. is de Vision Pro color calibrated or is it possible to calibrate it?
Cheers Mitchell
According to Apple each headset is calibrated from the factory for proper accuracy!
Everything you show in the video is great but I would like to know if to edit video and work it is necessary to have the Mac on, even if it is necessary to have a Mac. Can we not have any mac and use the purchased mac apps on the vision pro?
Just waiting for someone to make a headset for PC with better resolution than what's currently out. The technology in the AVP is impressive, but it's so hamstrung by Apple restrictions that it seems pointless. A thousand workarounds to try and do something that's effortless on any other computer. Multiple resizable desktops with several desktop apps open in separate windows. The Immersed software did it the right way.
Are those goggle monitor are color calibrated for the video editing and color correction?
How about shoulder pain when you hold your arms out in front of you all day editing, typing or playing games?
What if someone remotely hacks you and shows you wrong image and you will fall under the car or jump off the ledge?
No, it's for no one way to expensive for what it's worth if it it was same price as meta quest 3 then maybe
Flat screens used to cost $20K for the equivalent of today’s $500 tv. New tech is expensive. No disagreement that it’s very very expensive but it’ll come down as new generations come out.
@initialfocus yeah but it's not new there is already the competition meta quest 3 that's only 500
with this awesome technologies it worth the money to spend with
@@initialfocusThis is a false equivalency, when flatscreens were "20k" they were novel low yield cutting edge tech that wasn't ready for Main stream adoption. This is a VR Headset that is coming out 20+ years after Sony introduced them back in the late 90s early 2000s. And 11 years after Palmer Lucky brought VR into the modern age. Neither of which were as expensive as this headset which is more than triple the price of the nearest competitor
@@harryvlogs7833 BTW Harry, youtube comments act funny when you dont have an iPhone or a pixel, they won't reply correctly so you will have to copy your words and paste and send quickly for it to work correctly
Sent from a Galaxy S22 Ultra
Can you connect to a network drive like you can in Finder on Mac and iPad?
That would be a great solution to the slow download speeds of getting stuff from iCloud Drive and storing it on the very limited onboard storage.
I know in the files app you can technically connect to server. I don’t have a NAS so I haven’t tested it but I believe in theory you should be able to.
@@initialfocus You can set up your Mac as a network drive too. If you have it connected to your hard drives and your Mac set up on the network, you might be able to access all your media that way.
While the prospect of editing with this tech in road would be useful, I'm actually more interested in the true VR applications for film makers. Like imagine being able to do a location scout and test things like camera placement and lighting in VR.
Lookup RealTime Cinema. Read an article on that new app this morning. You’re absolutely. The whole production process is gonna be incredible.
Very compelling use case.
Apple needs to hire RDJ for their ads. This is legit Stark tech
This could be a monitor killer in future. Who knows if we shift to this form/interface of computing in next 10 years. AI + Spacial computing will be a deadly combination in future.
Epic intro!
Thanks so much!
The thing that just pushes me away from editing on a meta quest pro is the clunkiness of getting up and running. Quality is ok, like looking at a 1080p monitor, however none of it 'just works' seamlessly. The AVP seemingly works so much better out the gate than the MQP did at the beginning - my hopes for better updates on the AVP are positive. d
The meta quest pro only have 1080p for the whole field (1920x1080 for each eye), so how do you get a 1080p look on a floating virtual screen that occupies 1/3 of your view ?
That’s an awesome video! Thank you! Super exciting times! 🥽✨
Thank you!!!
This thing is amazing and at the same time it feels like it’s at its most primitive and being held back by the tech of the time. I mean the price is just crazy but it’s so exciting.
A lot of accuracy in what you said haha
Use cases: Test if you can sit outside on a beautiful day end edit using the Vision Pro - that is all I want lol
perfect review
Thank you for that!
Can you make the background white or that nature scene when editing?
Man!, what about clean feed on Resolve?, works?
Have you try to use two hand in color wheel inside software at same time like in DaVinci Resolve color panel? Does it work?
I am really interested in color accuracy over time with the screens. Like I calibrate my normal stuff?
Posted a video last week on it! Thank you for your comment!
I agree that it’s a bummer that Final Cut is not available.
I did however find that LumaFusion was available. That also works like a charm!
Also, Apple Track pad does not work, but the Magic Mouse does.
Yup lumafusion fans should be happy!
Wonder how color accurate is the display of the Vision Pro.
Posted a video last week on it! Thank you for your comment!
Sick video. This definitely feels so gimmicky though. There’s no way this is more efficient than just working on a computer lol 😂
Yes it works, basically it works like a big touch monitor... Which film editor uses a touch monitor to work instead of an editing keybord or a mouse? gimmick TM
damn, this is actually impressive.
Can u film videos directly with the vision pro like first person videos ?
Yup! Saves it as spacial videos or in 2D it looks almost square.
@@initialfocus if the price dosent matter would u prefer to film pov with a go pro or the vision pro ? 🤣
why did you take you monitors of the stand. you could have just unplugged them .
Gotta get that dramatic effect 😅😂
I thought I heard of color accuracy issues with this device. Or was that only specific to the pass through camera?
Pass through quality is probably where the fair criticism is. It’s better than any other headset out there but yeah still looks like you’re looking out of basic HD cameras. BUT the actual monitors, windows, screens feel very sharp and color accurate
Man, I so wanted to finish watching the whole video, but I could not because the camera movements made me so nauseous. I am interested in this video but I just cannot finish it.
Haha, a novice video editor tried to make a video about video editor.
It’s not your mouse - vision does not support mouse input
Is the color bit rate of the vision pro adequate for color correction? 🤷
92% P3 10bit 👍🏼
Love from Pakistan ❤
Is it possible to have multiple screens of the native version of DaVinci Resolve?
No
So far this thing doesn't solve any new problems. But great Video by the way👍🏼
Thanks man!
So all your files are being imported from iCloud in the native version? How do you export in Davinci? Where's it saving to?
If you’re using native app you’d export either to the files app or the share menu which should be able to send it over airdrop, messages, Dropbox etc. I’ll do some export testing.
Is the native app 11:25 basically the iPad version?
Yup exactly the iPad app! Blackmagic hasn’t made a special Vision Pro version or anything….yet
How do you like the MX Mechanical keyboard?
LOVE IT. I’m no keyboard head so I haven’t tried a crazy amount but I love the look, backlit, the key travel. I just love it so much
Saw 15 seconds and thumbs up.
