why not? a lot of the tanks featured in the show are not even from ww2. the selection team uses korean war tanks like the chaffee , pershing and centurion.
if i remember it, they want to suprise the audience so they make the last tank that join ooarai is Mk IV. Kinda unique tho IMO ooarai have so many versatile tank that can be use.
