BEST ACCESSORY for JUST DANCE on SWITCH? (comparison review)

they have one on the bottom of the right controller but no games use it lol they used it in nintendo labo also its only an black white/sensir camera but i think it would acctually work

I've used the "glove" and it does work well. Only problem for me was that the straps wore out - after some time it didn't hold it self together that well anymore. Also, I think you had it on wrong. Thumb was put in backwards (hence it becoming loose).
What I use now is - I bought a good non stretchy glove (workout glove) and attached the holder of the joy-con on it from one of the accessories. So it is basically same thing BUT it is much more sturdy and comfortable experience. Almost full perfected POP/STARS with it - without really trying to score.

Drey made me realize, while editing, that I indeed made a small mistake while putting the « glove ». These instructions were so unclear to me xD but anyway I tried to wear it correctly again off camera and it still began getting loose again 😢
You new homemade glove seems like a clever idea! So you’re saying that holding joy-con on top of your hand = exact opposite of where it would be in your hand, it has no impact on scoring?
@@thefairydina My scoring is pretty decent when I actually try ye. My theory is that joy-con doesn't really count which way it moves but how hard and bouncy the move is.
Because of Just Dance 2023, I am hopefully getting a Switch for my birthday because it is the next best thing after the Kinect for me. I was curious about maybe getting a strap for the joycon, but thanks to this video I have learned that I’ll score better without one, so I will not buy a strap! Very informative video, thank you Dina!
As a switch player this is very helpful
I usually play with a glove in which I put my joycon in while holding it like I'm supposed to. It allows me to open my hands without dropping the joycon, I feel free this way ^-^

I have a wristband that aligns with the arm. I tried it with Just Dance 2019 & 2020 and it worked, but then I tried using no accessory and it made some difference, at least in scores.
I just bought the wrist straps, now that I saw this, I’m glad

as someone who used to play just dance (jd 2017-2021) on switch, i usually treat the joy con as my “hand” to get perfect scores. i lay the joy con flat on my palm so that it’s parallel to my hand hdjshshs hope u get the idea

The wrap one I wrap it kinda tight so it won’t move around. It’s so helpful, felt like I couldn’t focus as much or do certain things while holding it versus the wrap. The wrist one was super uncomfortable I only used it once.

I think just dance 2019 on switch did have a mode on switch that used both joy cons, but it only worked for a few songs, I don't think you could use the mode on all songs.
it would be interesting if there was support for smartbands and smartwatches to be able to dance with hands free. this, of course, for those who have a smartband or smartwatch

I know this video was made 2 yrs ago but I was searching for a review for an updated version I purchased in 2024 or at the end of 2023. It mommics a fitness watch and has the actual closure of a watch. Regarding the iPhone fitness watch comparison, it looks as if I could remove my bands and insert it the square space available if I had a smaller size. It’s extremely secured around the wrist and the unit that will hold the control is nicely padded for a secure and worry free fit and it will avoid any damage to the unit itself once inserted. Idk if ur still reviewing these items but I’d appreciate any feedback regarding your opinion using this type of controller holder during exercise games. I know u prefer the reg straps but I do have major carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands n other issues regarding both hands/certain fingers and other issues w/them, especially when holding small items. Also, I’m mostly concerned with working out/dancing correctly to burn the most calories, lose weight, protect myself whilst movie and getting the most out of my sessions- even if that’s not reflected in my points earned. I hope I’ve given you enough info on the “wrist band” n what I desire from it in order to let me know your review on this.

How do you play just dance with joycons do u press button with accessories 😊
i personally have the glove and i can admit it is not that secure, i have to literally tie my glove reaaaaaally tight but it still feels slippery.
The glove would be nice for Level Up because I can't get down on the floor since I have a joycon in my right hand!
That’s an argument 👍🏻 but then there’s so much energy involved in Level Up, I feel like it would certainly start getting loose after 1 minute 😂
My husband got the ps5 and I asked for the just dance 23 I don't like holding my big phone as a controller what else is there? I love all your videos and this is the first time I ever played 😅
Unfortunately on PS5 there’s currently no other way to play Just Dance than by holding your phone 🥲

Should've looked for reviews before buying the glove lmao. I am having the same problem, it feels super flimsy and it's too big for my wrist/palm. The plastic on the "inside" of the glove also hurt my hand after dancing for an hr because it's so hard.

I had scored megastar with full Perfect playing JD with the joycons without any accessory, I think the best way to play JD on switch is holding the joycon on the hand in the correct angle that it's showed on images when you play the game firstly
why the people are using switch instead a xbox kinect? they're choosing play on a switch?
just dance acctually made songs with two controllers in jd18 it was a switch exclusive and i think you need to collect them not 100% sure tho
True, I think the name was « Double Rumble » or something? but it was a special mode with specific moves, it was not a proper song with real dancing

Merci pour ton retour. Je comptais acheter un des ces accessoires pour jouer librement à Just Dance mais finalement, ce sera toujours mieux de jouer sans pour bien scorer. Pour l'esthétique, le dance band est mieux comme accessoire, même si le joycon n'est pas dans le même sens que la main qui tient. Pour des mouvements où tu dois poser ta main par terre comme Que tire pa lante, Kool contact, Beep beep I'm a sheep, c'est pas possible de tenir le joycon pour scorer, obligé d'avoir le dance band. Si la prochaine JDWC ou FC se fait sur Nintendo Switch au lieu de la XBox One Kinect, il va falloir trouver une solution

I believe there was an official accessory that still let you hold the joycon but put a grip on it that fit your fingers it had like a shaped grip to it and it still slipped onto the joycon just like the wrist straps do. , I wonder if that would be better?
tho to be honest I thought the "gloves" would be better since this sit on your hand. but I wonder if that would work better if you could get the little holder off and attach it to a real glove, even a finger less one and playing that way.
and I don't mind the accessories so much my hands get kinda sweaty when I play so its nice not to get that on the joycons. tho maybe this is just me but I kinda wish there was a better explanation in game on how you are supposed to hold you joycon when you play.

Just spitballing, but since your performances may vary every time you repeat a song, and most of the accessories are in different places, shouldn’t you put two (or four if u have) as multiple players in the game and score them all at the same time

I've had the "glove" for a while, i have to use a pin to attach it right to my hand bc it was a size too big for my hand but it scores almost as much as using just the joycon. So if you wany your hand to be free it is worth the $2.
I'm fine with just my controller. The glove does look nice though, but if I score higher without it, I'll stay with nothing then.
I came to this conclusion that, the reason why it's hard to score on consoles is that, to make it more "fair" for those who dance whole body/ with camera console. Cuz for those who has cameras, they need to move their whole body while those who doesn't just need move their hand. That's why I think they make it harder.

I wish we could take pictures on Just Dance. I'm a usual switch player and when I got my first 13K I was so happy. Of course, I couldn't take a picture. I had to use my phone which I didn't mind I just think we should be able to take pictures on our switches instead of phones.
More easy interactivity with social media platforms would indeed be a nice addition!! 👍🏻

Honestly they are kinda good when you don't wanna hold the joy con like I tried that today because I remember I had one from 2019 but don't play on switch that much but I did just to test that again and yeah it's good worth it. But I prefer my Xbox kinnect

would it be possible to get a glove that fits you, then dettach the part that holds the joycon from the most secure accessory (the slide-in one?) and attach it to the glove to make a custom one?

Watching this vid in 2024 and had some thoughts. I don’t have any experience on switch before JD23/24 came out but in my experience, accessories make a bigger difference. I bought a wristband similar to the official one Dina showcased and noticed a big improvement in my scores (in one case I went from 4 stars to superstar). I don’t know if they have changed the way scoring works for these newer additions, but I think the fact that my hands are free has helped :) Great video as always!

@@thefairydina I put the strap just like the Glove accessory to get more accurate moves, but the strap should be really tight to the hand for safety 🙂
