How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a CZcams channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin.
Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like.
These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

@@plowboy7700 Don't be like that. You don't hear the young people mocking the older guys for not being able to use anything with a computer in it either, since it's simply not true, and neither is what you're saying.
Now now. No reason to get riled up. I'm a younger guy that has had worked for John Deere service through a lot of the technology transfer. I also farm. I have heard ever conversation from young to old. It's just for fun. If you take offense then so be it.

Thanks for taking us along Ryan. Our neighbor who farms has a rare type of cancer tumor near his heart and lungs. He is in his 40's and his family is always helping others. If your viewers could pray for him and his family that would be appreciated. He has surgery this coming Friday to remove the tumors.

I recall 2 years of back to back bumper crops. 1964 and 1965 were like winning a lottery. In 1966 things went back to normal and it felt like punishment. It was nice to have a bit of extra cash kicking around though.
I guess Andrew earned his keep! Can't wait to see how the other farms yield.
Now the blood, sweat and tears pays off. A tough year by any standard. Kudos to you and your family.

Hey Ryan, I really enjoy these longer videos, As a person who had his 20 year career ended after fighting Crohn’s Disease for 34 years I look forward to watching , it gives me something to do so I say thank you!

I’m a college student who is studying agriculture systems technology at Iowa state. My family does not farm but I wish to run my own farm in the future and by watching you and other farmers on CZcams it able to see a variety of operations and new ideas to try and apply them to my future operation. Thank you for all the information you provide! You guys give me and allot of other students who want to become farmers hope that family farms can and do work!

I’ve always loved harvest, I’m not a farmer but would always spend a fall weekend on my uncle’s farm as a kid then would spend a week helping here and there as I got older. Great time of year.
How I ended up here ill never know but I've became a huge fan of how farms work, and next time someone says farming is easy I will send them your videos. Thank you Ryan for doing these. You have given me a whole new appreciation of how long and hard you work.

As city boy I'm learning a lot from watching your videos. I've done home gardening before but it's nothing compared to real farming. Congratulations on what looks to be a great harvest.

Again being a farm kid at heart but basically having the actual farm removed from my life, persay, these videos are the closest thing I have to still being on the farm. Yes in Wisconsin farming is at a very difficult point, but what I'd give to be helping out on the farm somewhere. Not for money, hell no, just for the pure love of agriculture. I’ve been following you and your channel for the last year and half, learned so much and hope to learn more. I’m a really small farmer compare to you, sometimes don’t even think I should be called as one but what I do and how I do it helps to bring food to the family table and pay all the bills. Thank you for sharing all the information and experience you been doing so far.
I’ve been following this channel for awhile now. I’m not a farmer nor did I grow up on a farm. My wife has a dairy science degree from UW Madison and has worked on farms. Guess im a loyal follower of your channel i made it to the end. Been watching since around 60 thousand subs and cant get away from your channel, every video is super high quality and always has the action to keep you watching. I never really trust field monitors, you are never really sure until it goes across the scale and they hand you the ticket. Loved the video!!

Holy our wheat 🌾 was yielding 90 bushels per ace, over 200 bushels per acre that’s a bumper crop awesome 👏 video!!
Hope the rest of the farms yields that well! God has really blessed us with rain this year even though haying was horrible. Personally just started beans this weekend in West Michigan. Great videos attract great viewers. Glad my views help you guys out.

I live in Los Angeles and have never been on a farm. But I think it is very cool that I can watch and learn where and how our food is produced by watching your channel. You have a nice casual way of speaking and it's fun watching you and rocket. Keep rocket in the videos, he's a cool dog.

Farming fixing and fabricating was selling a AG trailer that he just fabricated a new back door for last week or e week before
My stepson ran into our power lines with the bucket in the air. Haha they came right out and fixed it.
He later said he didn’t realize the lines ran that low!
I have underground at my house and it has been a godsend!

Congratulations on a great start to your harvest! I was in your area about ten days ago passing through on an rv trip. Beautiful country, rolling hills, manicured waterways and great looking corn and beans. Good luck with the weather and hope your good yields continue.

We used to drive up to Viroqua to go jeepin ever year and the first time we went by your guy's farm I seen the sign and started following u ever since. I really enjoy watching what u guys do, I love outside doing farming stuff do not live on one but I know alot of people who do. Love watching u guys.

Having worked the family farm in Pulaski, Wi, as a kid till my teens I just got to see the work side of things. Just did what we were told not the why. It's great to watch your videos to see the why. I think some of your videos, along with a couple others should be used in schools so kids get to not just the how but the why. Thank you for the great videos. Thanks for taking my back to my youth.
