Your rice looks great! If I put mine on rice it will be a thick clump of rice, it is way to long for the rice to cook. It is sticky and just plain overcooked rice. I don't get it?
It would have been nice to see what your rice looked like as you fluffed it with a fork when it was done. I've seen other demos and it looks sticky and dry.
Trust me, it was 100% done. I have a pressure cooker from different brand and I set it for 7 minutes on medium pressure with 1:1 water to rice ratio and it comes out 100% cooked
It will have helped to know how much rice to put in the pressure cooker before you began; though, I'm guessing two cups of water and rice. I initially thought that was when you were washing the rice.
Brown rice requires more time. InstantPot instructions: use a 1:1 ratio of water to brown rice and a regular pressure setting. I also activate the "warm" feature for a few minutes to soak up any remaining water.
NEXT time folks, take your 3 cups of WASHED rice and dump it in your IP, then add 1 giant can of ROTEL, 3/4 cup water with 3 tblsp TACO SEASONING. Hit the rice button, you won't regret it!
@@monie1527 Thanks Monie, I do as well, even though I can cook rice on the stove top well. I retired my rice cooker from making Risotto and use the IP instead.
I don’t disagree. I grew up only making it in a pot. I switched to a rice cooker in college because I didn’t have stove access all the time but it recently has worn out. The rice cooker was so convenient and I didn’t have to watch the water boil and worry about burning it. I love rice and eat it a lot so this was really great. I was thinking about getting another rice cooker but I may try to make it in my instant pot!
@@saimaanwar2846 Just checked it and turned out that 1:1 ratio is perfect. Pressure cookers need much less water for rice to be cooked because the water doesn't evaporate at all since the valve is sealed

If I use it on mine it is just a big clump of overcooked rice. I don't know why that is?

12 mins is for short grain which takes longer than long grain. Long grain needs just 5 mins.
