    Total Length: 12.6 inches
    Edge Length: 3.5 inches
    Steel: The SOG site lists the steel as 3Cr13 but Knifecenter and Amazon list it as 420 SS.
    Handle: FRN
    Weight: 1.7 pounds
    Sheath: Nylon
    Price: $50
    The SOG Voodoo Hawk can serve as a breaching tool, rescue tool, CQB weapon, or small camp axe. It features a short handle matched with a full-sized tomahawk head. For such a compact hawk it hits very hard. This would make a good partner to the SOG Jungle Primitive or Jungle Warrior knives.

    I have one and I love it. I admit I was initially not crazy about the polymer handle, but man, that little SOG does the job. Just got back from another camping trip where my fellow campers were amazed by my SOG 'hawk.

      Nobody sells those anymore in and around my country (EU), they're gone. Still regret that I didn't get one three years ago. It's such a good looking relic.

    I would go for the full-sized one, the M48, unless you specifically need a short 'hawk.

    thanks for making this,, was just looking into tomahawks or my next carry along for fishing. living in a urban area my fishing leaves me alone at night on the bank a lot, a large knife on my side is the norm but not to good for much else and having to carry hatchet for lite chopping of fire wood is just more to carry. this looks to solve both. a bit of shock and awe with sturdiness to handle most anything I will need it for. thanks again for making this. i'll be ordering one this payday.

    It doesn't have a lanyard hole, although I think if you remove the metal pommel something could string through the screw hole holding it on, but i havent tried.

    did order one, but the case is just a safety hazard to be polite. mine came w/t a little drop down collar and button for 'extra' holding power but no matter what it comes lose w/t little movement, couldn't even get to my fishing spot, let alone go look for wood w/t it. however it worked well for chipping up some light firewood and the finish looks like I never had it outside. ended up using a toolbelt hammer hanger I wrapped w/t paracord as a holder and it seems to work out well so far (it held a 24oz framing hammer all day) so this is no match for it. hope that helps if anyone needs an idea on a way to travel with a tomahawk

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives
    @WeAllJuggleKnives  Před 11 lety

    It's a good deal smaller than the Trench Hawk, so I think they would make a good pair of options.

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives
    @WeAllJuggleKnives  Před 11 lety

    For a light chopper try one of the smaller size Aranyik E-nep machetes, not a hawk but will perform better than stuff like the Fasthawk.

    This is an excellent review. That cinder block opening was genius, it does a good job of showing how durable this cheaper tomahawk can be. Loved the fact that you really went in on the testing, that is what a review truly is.

    Nice vid as usual :) What would be really great, would be a vid showing all your tactical hawks in use, and your thoughts on which would be best for breaching, chopping, and combat use. Obviously, this would take a lot of time and effort, so you may understandably not be able to do it. It WOULD be cool though, lol.

    Hey what hawk do you think would be best for throwing, out of the 3 sogs you reviewed. I was looking at fusion and fasthawk but couldn't decide on what size to go with (do you like shorter or longer). Now I found the voodoo and am in even more of a pickle. Please let me know what you would choose or if you think there is a better budget hawk for me. Will also be used for light clearing of limbs around deer stand.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  Před 10 lety

    • @rubickscube6666
      @rubickscube6666 Před 9 lety

      Chad Hammer SOG has a 3 pack of "throwing hawks". Basically its a piece of flat metal in the shape of the fasthawk and its got a paracord wrapped handle, although i personally would replace the paracord with grip tape. They're pretty sharp, but arent very heavy so you wont be coing much "chopping" with them.
