Although not complete sets, would also recommend collecting the trainer galleries from brilliant stars, astral radiance, lost origins and silver tempest

SV base is one of the cheaper main sets u can finish coming in about 500$. Celebrations is about 200$. Base set will set u back about 700-900$. Crown zenith including trainer galleries will set u back about 800-900$
700-900$ for a 20+ year old set is not too shabby
I wish celebrations cost $200, I dropped about £650 and im still missing charizard. Plus I had to buy the magikarp. In the UK a complete set of celebrations is about £400

I've just recently decided to get into collecting Pokemon cards-I already have some not-bad ones from when I was a kid and thankfully had the idea to keep them safe in one of the tins, but you've been invaluable for learning all the details of Pokemon card collecting. Thanks a lot!
You can also try to collect the cards for a single Pokemon you like, for example Dragonite.
We love watching you videos as new collectors! We started collecting again about 2 months ago and decided to start out YT to capture all of it. We had Base set, Jungle and Fossil as kids and will complete that set first. Then we dived right into VSTAR Universe and 25th Anniversary set, loved both and will complete them. After that, our first set was Scarlet & Violet and recently got Pokemon 151. We cannot believe that we literally did exactly what you suggested. Thanks for your videos, we love hearing your updates and we actually acted on your advice to buy some singles.

Crowth Zenith has some incredible cards. Whether you want to complete a set graded or non graded the prices are great rn
Surely crown zenith sealed will sky rocket in price in future. Imo, it's the best modern set (aside from 151 to come) and the pull rates are amazing. Long term investment i think
I just completed the master set of celebrations two days ago. Took almost 2 years of ripping packs but it was a fun time.
Completely agree on the Base set, especially buying them as singles and having fun with it.

Pokemon Cards I would say currently is one of the best thing going on for collectors. It's not hard to see why.
The company itself has been expanding in almost ALL areas to get attentions from audience from all areas. The demographic they covered ranges from the youngest kid to the oldest adult. Movie, series, events, collaborations, collectibles, merchandise, retails.
I would say I never regretted going into Pokemon cards collection since 2019. I am currently at a net gain of about 50% on my portfolio. Mostly from sealed products mainly and limited artists cards and collaboration cards. Good luck to all collectors.

I've just started collecting again and ive found Crown Zenith and Obsidian Flames to be a really good starting point because of the current prices of boosters and the ETB's! I really enjoy the idea of getting atleast one ETB for each new set moving forward.
I agree with your selection of sets, especially the "Scarlet & Violet" Base Set bc it just startet now. Also the upcoming "151" set is great bc it's like the 1999 Base Set just newer and also (IMO very cool) in order of the Pokedex-No.😄 for me personally I just started to get back into collecting and after looking at older sets I really wanna collect the Neo (Genesis to Destiny) sets bc Johto is my favourite Region, the artworks on these cards are beautiful and also the sets have very few cards (most cards in one set is around 115 cards)

If you start doing the sets on a tcgplayer cashback day; it helps a lot. I bought some of the bigger holos for base set and fossil on a cashback day and was able to finish jungle almost entirely with the cashback. And if you are doing it in a budget put a celebrations copy of the holos in place do the big 3.

I'd say start at anything from astral radiance to current sets, since I feel anything before astral radiance nowadays is hard to get and quite expensive, whereas from astral radiance to now its much easier and cheaper

Paldea evolved is much more fun for a starting collector to get into i think

Just finished base set and loving it. Been debating about another set and I just discovered Japanese vending series. Gorgeous and decently priced vintage cards.
Vending series is great. And so many unique art you can't get in English
did you get the set graded or just the cards themselves?
Been slowly pickup up all the Galarian Gallery cards as prices have come down. Last big hitters I need are Mewtwo Vstar and gold arceus. Somehow I managed the pull all the other golds in less than 100 packs
Sad thing is in NL you pay around €12-€15 euros per booster packs for Celebrations. UPC's are also around €500. Meaning it's about the same prices as Evolving skies (in terms of pack price). :(

What second hand markets do you recommend? Especially for boosters from past gens/ celebrations packs. Because I’m struggling to find anything and I hear Amazon is shady to buy from. Thanks!

A little bit harder and longer of a chase could be trying to look out for E-series cards!
Detective Pikachu TCG booster set is easy to complete - I got the full set within 2 collector chests worth of packs. Singles max out at $8 highest for Charizard, everything else is $4 or less

I disagree. S/V base set is the best base by far. X/Y, S/M, and SW/SH we’re great and nostalgic but S/V base is better and it is mostly due to Illustration Rares.
I know people don't love Pokemon Go but it's a small set so not overwhelming, lots of OG Pokemon and is super cheap to pick up right now.

Shoot i would of put evolving cries in for pulling extreemly awsome Eevee-lution cards. English or jap. Or Korean ive been going to Korean lately due to the way the words are written looks great. I pulled 2 umbreon vmax alt 1 bgs10 1 bgs 9.5 english still tring to get my other guy the glaceon vmax such a beautiful card underated but personally 2nd best alt even above ray boy but ita rayboy higher fan base lol
I don't think I can put it on the list. I'd probably get a lot of angry collectors that got no good pulls in my inbox!
