Oh wow I played the heck out of that Pirates of Carribean game as a teen, had no idea it was a "Sea Dogs" game, I've been pining for something similar for decades!
And, if you like Mount and Blade and pirates, exist Blood & Gold, that uses the same system as Mount and Blade
Thanks! I will look it up some day! Always looking for more pirate RPG games.
Hi, thanks for the video.
In Sea Dogs TEHO you can speed up the time the necessary hours to avoid the inconvenience you are talking about, in the new game they are going to release before the end of the year they will add many changes to make it more attractive.
Hi Javier
I noticed that you can "Wait" a couple of days after publishing this video. I knew somebody would point that flaw in the review sooner or later!
I played Sea Dogs as a kid just as computers became more common, glitchy as all hell, but the nostalgia is something else
I just thought about this game recently, AoP Caribean tales..i was looking at bug fixing mods as in that was my main complaint with why i didnt finish it. If i play again do you recomended AoP CT or PotC ? and what mods?
Sea Dogs... oh boy... it's been a loooooooooooong time... but I had a blast with it!
Please Remake!!
Best pirate sim ever made
Yes the absence of any quest and actual final objectives made it kinda stale after awhile and I think only the medic character had some kind of actual story at the start (it was basically hard mode) but still, no other pirate game has touched upon this series’ genius
Heyas I played Pirates of the Caribbean and To each his Own .. like them both I lost my PoTc disc moving in the last few years tho but recently got back on Steam and downloaded TeHo .. can be a rough game if ya haven’t played them before .. save a lot lol .. and there is well made walkthroughs for it .. you really need to do the story quests to get into the game really and it’s timed parts can be a pain .. you don’t have to the random generated quests really at all like the best you mentioned like escorts and such .. u from Nd the “ Hot Raids “ to be the best money makers but you need to reload a save sometimes a lot to get them from a piratey looking guy in city port outside area .. just save before you moor .. and reload to ya get one .. he will change from a convoy type to a single pirate ship as well as the destination.. it is limited to a point it seems .. but the main story lines and DLC’s are the way to go .. not everyone will like certain ones .. seems the Legendary edition they are making is .. the To each his own game .. with all the DlCs and a dozen or so new quests and updated graphics engine that the game can handle .. another note .. I do believe the designers are from “ Ukraine “ so there could be delays .. I wish them the best .. they are on Discord there is a page link on Steam the believe .. I don’t have it I’m n a laptop with not much ch room .. and Discord was ticking me off resetting a lot and I’m old and half blind lol .. sorry for the typos I’m on my phone browsing
A remaster is coming soon, Legendary Edition, I can't wait for it !
@@sunereensennin7139came out a month ago under the name Caribbean legends on steam
Great review!
My favorite Russian game. Funny fact: this game actually called "Corsairs" in Russian
I think I saw a 4th name for the series somewhere as well... thats just taking the piss 😂
@@polishdanreviews funny fact N°2 - originally the first game was called "Archipelago", and it was more about exploring islands, without all pirate stuff. This concept was created by two guys, which took a debt from Chechnyan mafia to finance the project, but the game quickly was canceled, but the sea in this canceled game was soo beautiful that new dev team decided to make a new game, based on the sea traveles and took some early assets for the first game. That how Sea Dogs were born
You actually made a reference to "SPAAAANISH!" ("ИСПАНЦЫ!"). That's a decent job, sir.
Akella is bankrupt so sad but the sea dogs 2 game was my childhood
They are making a new Sea Dogs! Check out BlackMark Games CZcams channel, they posted a sound track and commented that a trailer is coming next month! First new Sea Dogs since 2016!!! 🙌🏻
Also definitely the Pirates of The Caribbean one is the best, it's the reason I still have a disc drive on my PC.
Just seen your comment on there and I can't believe that they are actually making one!
@@polishdanreviews Hopefully in the last five years they've worked on the systems as well as the graphics to bring the franchise into modern day standards.
I'm hyped and will definitely be grabbing it first day to support the series.
If you like the Pirates of the Caribbean game, definitely check out the New Horizons mod. Not only does it come built in with a no-CD patch, it also adds a ton of extra content, such as several new story campaigns. You even get to play as Jack Sparrow in one of them.
The dubbing made me dizzy, but I'm glad someone's talking about this game
I'm sorry for the dizziness but thank you for watching! How could I make my videos less dizzying??
Hello :) Greetings from Poland.
@@polishdanreviews Mam nadzieję, że kiedyś zrobią konkretny remake jedynki i dwójki.
btw if you raise the pirate flag you won't get chased by pirates in the world map, i seen someone complaining about this in forums too. it doesn't matter if you're playing as a pirate you still need to raise the black flag to not get chased by them
But don't you need the right perk/character stats to be able to actually make it work?
@@polishdanreviews no but there is a perk in ship skills called "scourge of the seas" it makes everyone in world map avoid you but for the pirates you only need the black flag
@@syjay Yeah I know. When I was playing the game my instinct was to avoid raising the pirate flag as I thought it'd make the game harder as it would increase the aggro of every faction but one.
for me to each his own is the best.. it is the most polished. runs best.
Can you show footage of the game and actual gameplay, got damn it's mostly you. Sucks this is the only review of this game, the rest are long gameplays but still.
Might be a bit tricky at this point, with the video being out and all.
Why don't you put this on for background sound while you watch the longplays?
I love how you didn't even mention Sea Dogs Caribbean Tales (because it's shite and I approve of you not mentioning it lol)
don't forget the dos game sea of legends .. sea dogs before sea dogs.. ;)
Looks very good to be fair! More of a Sid Maiers Pirates vibe to it but interesting nonetheless :)
@@polishdanreviews yes indeed if you think about it the games sid's pirates and sea legends are from the same time frame but if i am not mistaken the only difference that you didn't have first or third person battles..a bit like sea dogs and other pirate games now.. also sea legends was made by russian dev.. so alot like sea dogs hint hint hint.. ;)
Испанцы!
Fact: This game development from money of game piratting in russia
@@polishdanreviews view the translate of creation of sea dogs (история создания "корсары")
Here's the truth about the whole series.... if you've played one or two hours of one of these games, you've seen everything the entire series have to offer. These have to be some of the most repetitive and grindy games ever made. Every battle is the same, every boarding is the same, most of the quests are the same. There's no variety and tactics and no interesting exploration and navigation mechanics. You're supposed to be a captain of a ship and all you do is steering your ship from top down view on the map.
All you do in these games are the same actions over and over and over again. It's boring after an hour or so. Akela didn't bother to redevelope the formula for 15 years, they just coppied what Sid Meier's Pirates did and added minor changes with each game. Here's the main difference bettwen Carribean Tales, To Each His Own and City of Abandoned Ships - it's the menu interface... no, seriously, that's it! Have fun playing the exact same game over 5 seperate titles.
@@_-_CrimsoN_-_ Yeah righ, the appeal of the games is for them to be bad and repeptitve... wow, you're a genius.
@@zardoz8023 No. Maybe the repetitve aspects of the game are part of the appeal... you might not like it and that's okay, but some people like the formula. I love the Sea Dogs. I love that each game retains the same formula while adding new ships, weapons and quests. That appeals to me.
You've got people buying each and every Call of Duty game that comes out when each game just adds a few new guns and a slight graphical update. Are you going to harp on these people for basically buying the same game each year?
What about sports games? Don't even get me started on sports games. Fucking FIFA 2023 being no different than FIFA 2022.
Point being. Maybe some people like the repetitive aspect of a series. You clearly don't and that's fine, but you act like everyone is going to have the same subjective opinion.
This might come as a surprise to you (as I'm sure it is). But people like different things, genius.
There are people who have the proper hair to grow long hair, and then there's ... this. Get a haircut, dude. Or do you not have friends who tell ye the truth to the face, or do they and you just don't listen? And you can't come up with the ‘congenital’ argument, therefore it's not yer fault. It is, because it's a matter of choice, you weren't born that way, and your choice is a bad one. Can't watch it. It's hurtful to the eye, as it looks flimsy and unkempt. 👎🏼
The first Sea Dogs was legendary, I would love to see a remaster some day.
It'd be nice to see Akella be given enough funding and QA time to make a truly polished and good looking Sea Dogs game but this will probably never happen ...
@@polishdanreviews I have good news! Black Mark Studio is currently developing a remaster of the first game titled Sea Dogs: Legendary Edition, it's set to release within the next couple of months (Q1 of 2022, according to the Steam page.

It’s on gog but world map doesn’t work for me and many people
Do you guys think they will improve a little of the game play ?
