In todays video I take a look at how mixed by ali mixes for kendrick lamar. mixedbyali is one todays hottest hip hop and rap mixing engineers. He played a huge parts in crafting kendrick lamars sound. Today I look at mixed by ali mixing process on section 80 good kid maad city and to pimp a butterfly to see the mixing techniques used on these iconic albums.

I did a research presentation on Ali for my school project. The more I dig deeper the more respect I got for Ali , Kendrick and Dre. The ultimate knowledge they share with each other are insane.

Fire! Ali was the first mix engineer I studied when I began creating music. I didnt know shit about mixing until I started reading about his philosophy and techniques...Definitely one of if not THEE GOAT engineers of our time🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

my pc cant take too many plugins like that lmao
I use a 2GB Ram laptop with a mixing template I created on FL studio. I start with my Aux/sends for wet effects like reverb, delay, flanger etc and I adjust them to a good starting point. Afterwards I switch off the effects and work on the main vocal chain then I switch things on and off to get a good idea of what everything sounds like together. It might take time to get used to the process at first, but once you're aware of what you doing it becomes really simple. I've mixed a couple quite a few mixtapes, albums and songs using this process and template. If you use FL studio drop your email so I can send you the template
