Get rid of those mongrels ASAP! See them working together the buggers. Good job on getting over to your bird fast mate. Once your birds get experienced and hawk aware those big hawks will just be good exercise for your birds.

I agree, it will be better once the birds get a bit smarter and stronger at flying. Especially if you can get them to a point where they're all flying together and either flying or in the loft. I'm pretty much in the same boat.

I had a very intense Hawk problem.
I had one really obsessed talk.
the others were all so pretty obsessed but one was really.
Also had a couple Falcons coming by.
I had to fully net my exercise area ie my flight cage.
It was an open area before the hawk started making multiple strikes everyday.
    I lost too many birds.
So now I just pop the birds in the box and take them out to fly before I feed them in the morning.
The racing pigeons fly back and make it into the loft before I even get home
the high Flyers will take a more elevated route and spend more time flying out before they'll drop back into the loft.
Once the birds are all back in then I close up the flight area like the exercise area.
then I let all the lofts out together in the netted protected area.
this way the birds get to relax and socialize outside of the lofts without dying.
And then I get more into the habit of putting them in the crates and flying them.
and they get in the habit of getting into the boxes and then understanding that they're going to be flying after that so they're more willing to jump in.
after a few times into the crates or whatever you're using each they'll get it they'll understand it's time to fly.
Having them understand that and cooperate is really satisfying.
Kind of what it's all about.
Admittedly I enjoyed a year of letting my birds fly all around my loft and all around my yard and stuff.
But it attracted a whole ecosystem of raptors. Everything from Eagles to owls to Ravens even just coming by on a regular flight path to see if there's something they can snack on.
Now if I just get them ready and fly them before 11:00 a.m. when the wind comes up, I'm good to go for a daily fly.
can't sit around waiting for the day to progress to see if it's going to be windy later, you know it's going to be windy later.

I rescue wild feral pigeons and I’ve must have raised and released 1000’s of them last 12 years , I have kept few birds as they grew close to my heart , I had built a coop in the yard , I had a total of 12 pigeons , I used to fly them around for the first two years of my coop being built , till last year September when a hawk found my yard , I’ve lost 3 birds since September , usually if I’m in the house and not In the yard with my birds , they have been real good outflying a hawk but we have these cunning Cooper’s hawks that caught them inside of my coop , the entrance for my pigeons was wide enough for him to get in, all that changed now as I had my birds closed for weeks in hopes that hawks may move on to another area . I hate keeping my birds closed.
