Mariska is my girl! She held SVU down for 23 seasons and counting!!!! glad to see women her age being respected and empowered. she is the only female cop on any tv show that has any nuance and depth.

Much as I loved Stabler on SVU he seems to be more in his element in Organized Crime. Not saying he was bad in SVU but he always went the extra mile to get bad guys and for that he was always given crap for it IA jammed him up the bosses saw him as a liability despite his effectiveness in OC it seems to work well since in Organized Crime he’s going after the worst of the worst.
I mean I would argue SVU gues after the WORST of the worst (kiddie rapists aren't even liked in prison) but I agree with your point, this role suits him and definitely involves less emotional torture since it doesn't involve crimes against children. I hope this show goes far, its fantastic.

It's not as traumatizing as svu. They traffic girls and stuff but they don't gotta hear the details.
It's because they're after gangsters and cartels. The police working these crimes are given much more leeway to do absolutely everything in their power to take down the gangs. While SVU crimes often deal on the worst type of offenders, some of the accused are often protected because of their social rank or fear of civilians of how the police will deal with them, so there is a lot pushback on sex crimes and the WORST kind of people that do these crimes often use this to their advantage.
In RICO crimes, though the accused can find protection through law, it is less egregious and only means the gangster would just be temporarily out and there is a greater chance that he gets killed by his own by being pinched and getting out than truly getting away. Stabler is much more effective on that environment since there is nothing really that slows him down within the police structure. He can do this thing, and he can saves lives and catch the bad guys.
I would think Stabler would've resigned from the police altogether after he shot that girl in 'Smoked'.
A lot of stellar television actors joined this season. I love it.

and he DOES have the world’s sexiest butt, no disrespect to his wife. i’m so happy he is back where he belongs. i just started watching 23-year-old episodes of OZ and am blown away that meloni can play antithetical characters: a white supremacist, gay criminal, and a strict Catholic, family man law enforcement officer/detective equally well. SVU producers were absolute fools not to give him the pay he deserved 11 years ago. i’m glad they finally acknowledged their mistake. meloni is not replaceable!!!!

Fun fact: the guy who plays costa also played Eddie skinner in Svu episode “smoked”. Skinner provoked the young girl when she shot up the precinct and forced Elliot to shoot her, causing him to leave Svu.

I’d love to see Liv have to go undercover to save him, especially if he has already found out about Lewis. Be a chance to see the old protective Stabler and an opportunity for him to redeem himself for walking off without a word and not being around for her when she needed him most.
Honestly through stabler leaving although poorly handled by producers made it possible for Benson to grow further even though she did grow with stabler, separating from him gave her more room to grow on her own to become captain

I think that Marcy leader of the gang Reggie is undercover cop like stabler. I don't know. He just don't seem to be acting all badass and stuff. He's very aware of things and he questions alot like stabler does and he didn't let the dude shoot those two just like stabler would do as well. I think he's undercover like stabler. I'm liking him on the show.

In other news... so looking forward to this week's episode if Organized Crime. We all know that Detective Stabler has always been a "hot head" and a badazz -- but he really is the perfect fit for going up against the Mafioso and syndicates.
